Chapter 401, Section 398: Father and Son Reunited
Blake did not hesitate.
"I'm willing to drink it to prove that what I'm saying is true."
Lynn curled her lip: "You agreed readily enough, but it's my medicine that will be wasted."
He had three bottles of truth serum in stock, and now only this one is left.
The first bottle was such a waste. When Ivanov was given the drink, only three drops were needed, but he poured the whole bottle down his throat to save time.
Lynn walked up to Blake with the truth serum in her hand.
Open your mouth.
He used a dropper to put three drops into Blake's mouth, and soon Blake's eyes became glazed and he entered a hazy state.
Harry hesitated, unsure how to ask, or rather, he already believed that what Black said was true, but hadn't yet made up his mind to face the truth.
Lynn patted him on the shoulder.
"Actually, you don't need to think so much. Just ask him one question."
Harry and Lynn exchanged a glance and understood what he meant.
He pursed his lips and asked Blake in a slightly trembling voice.
"Is everything you just said true?"
Blake was silent for a few seconds before answering.
"It's all true."
The next moment, Ron collapsed to the ground; Harry stared wide-eyed at Black, who was bruised and battered, looking completely bewildered; Hermione's mouth gaped open, speechless; Lupin, on the other hand, looked relieved, having already come to believe Black after hearing his account of what had happened.
Lynn wasn't doing anything else at that moment; she was taking a family photo from a good angle, capturing their wonderful expressions.
The air in the cellar seemed to freeze; no one spoke until Blake awoke from the state of being under the influence of the truth serum.
"Was the fire bolt I received today also a gift from you?" Harry asked softly.
Black laughed and said, "You played brilliantly on the field, just like your father did back then. I saw all of Harry's games; only the best flying broomsticks are worthy of you."
Harry looked at Black's face, which was now swollen like a pig's head, and said guiltily.
"I'm sorry I beat you up like this."
"You don't need to feel sorry for this; this is the punishment I deserve. I've wanted you to beat me up like this for a long time, after all, I'm the one who killed your parents."
"No, it's not your fault! It's all Peter's fault! He framed you."
The scene of the father and son recognizing each other was very touching, but it was a bit awkward when the son had just beaten his father up to a pulp before they recognized each other.
Although Harry is not Black's biological son, his relationship with him as godfather and godson is practically second only to that of a biological father and son.
So theoretically speaking, Black is now Harry's closest guardian, and he is also acknowledged by Harry's biological parents.
But compared to this minor embarrassment, Blake clearly had more important questions to ask.
"Is Peter really lost? Haven't you found him?"
All eyes were on Ron, who was feeling rather down. Although there was no irrefutable evidence—that Scabbers had transformed into a short, fat, bald wizard right in front of him—the facts had been proven, and he could no longer deceive himself.
"He disappeared without a trace after the sports meet. At the time, I thought he had been eaten by Hermione's cat, and I had a big fight with Hermione about it. He has never been seen since."
Blake looked grim as he paced back and forth in the cellar.
"He escaped from Hogwarts, and it will be very difficult to catch him next time. He will definitely run far away, even away from England."
After learning the truth, Harry naturally transferred all his previous hatred for Black to Peter. He looked up at Lynn with hope in his eyes.
"Can you predict Peter's location again, just like you predicted before that Wormtail was my enemy?"
"You're saying he predicted Peter was your enemy?" Blake looked utterly bewildered. "Then why did he capture me?"
Harry said quietly, "Lynn was right, but I thought you were Wormtail."
Black shook his head, no longer dwelling on why Harry would associate such a code name with him, and instead turned his gaze to Lynn.
"I've been in Azkaban for so long that I never imagined Hogwarts would have a student with such a high gift for prophecy."
Lynn rolled his eyes. If he didn't know that Blake had no prophetic talent whatsoever, the tone would have sounded like he was mocking him.
"Don't flatter me, praising me won't help. Predictions aren't something you can just do on a whim. You can only make a successful prediction when you have the intuition. Under normal circumstances, you can't just say whatever you want."
Lynn didn't even need to make a prediction; he already knew where Peter was.
But this fat rat is his precious bait. He's already been generous enough in helping Harry and his father reunite. If he were to help them capture Peter as well, it would be pure wishful thinking on their part.
Harry's face immediately fell, and Lupin comforted them.
"More than revenge, isn't the fact that you've cleared Sirius's name the most? Aside from Peter's situation, the most important thing to consider now is how to raise Sirius."
Only after Lupin mentioned this did Blake realize what was going on.
He looked at Harry nervously and stammered.
"I miss Harry. I'm back now, and your parents asked me to be your godfather when you were born. Would you like to live with me?"
"Why not?" Harry's eyes lit up, and he said excitedly, "Of course I'd love to!"
However, just as they were all caught up in their joy, Lynn poured cold water on them.
"Don't oversimplify things. You know Black is innocent, but the Aurors and Dementors of the Ministry of Magic don't. As long as he appears in public, he'll still be hunted down. Are you suggesting Harry go with Black now and run away with him?"
Lynn was telling the truth, and Harry and Black immediately looked worried again.
Harry looked at Lynn and pleaded.
"You must have a way, right Lynn? You must know how to clear Sirius's name. We all know he's a good person."
Lynn didn't answer Harry first, but instead started checking the photos she had taken with her camera.
Once he was sure he had taken all the photos he wanted, he would consider them payment from Harry and Black, he said with a shrug.
"Let's go find Professor Dumbledore first and explain the whole story to him. I guarantee he'll believe what you're saying."
