Chapter 380, Section 377: The Food-Protecting Rabbit
"Give me a kiss."
Lynn's tone was calm and even, as if she were saying, "Try this candy."
Beside him, Ian spat out the pumpkin juice he had just drunk, while Cedric stared at Lynn in disbelief as the chicken leg in his mouth fell onto the table with a "thud".
Hermione didn't react immediately. She was stunned for a moment, wondering if she hadn't heard clearly.
"What did you say?"
Lynn remained as calm and composed as ever.
"Kiss me, just on my right cheek, don't kiss the wrong one."
This time Hermione finally heard clearly, and she was completely stunned. A blush visibly spread across her neck, and then, like the morning glow at sunrise, it relentlessly spread across her face, until it reached her ears before finally stopping.
Hermione's body was trembling; her movements were very subtle, but it was clear that she was shaking uncontrollably.
She pressed her lips tightly together, as if they were about to bleed, as if she wanted to say something, but couldn't utter a word for a long time.
Lynn looked at her and tilted her head in confusion.
Is it difficult for you to do this? If so, I'll ask someone else.
As soon as Lynn said that, Hermione immediately bristled like a cat with its fur standing on end. She pointed at Lynn with her trembling fingers and said as if she were furious.
"You shameless person!"
"You still need to have a face. The prerequisite for forming a first impression between people is to look at the other person's face. A beautiful face makes people feel happy and unconsciously generate goodwill, while an ugly face will make people subconsciously avoid or distance themselves. Objectively speaking, my face should be considered extremely beautiful. How could I not want something that is so beneficial to me?"
Lynn said in a very serious tone.
His words only fueled Hermione's anger even more.
Lynn may seem reasonable now, but he is actually not reasonable at all.
Hermione couldn't win against him, so she covered her face, skipped dinner, and ran out of the Great Hall.
Watching her flee in disarray, Lynn rubbed her chin and turned back to the dining table.
"Was I a little inconsiderate just now?"
Ian and Cedric looked at him with the same eyes they had for a god.
"What aspect of yourself do you feel you lacked consideration in?" Cedric asked cautiously.
Lynn forked a grilled sausage for himself.
"I didn't consider that girls might feel shy when talking about this kind of thing, especially in front of so many people. In this situation, she would definitely not agree to something she might have half-heartedly agreed to before."
His voice was very calm, as if he were analyzing why monkeys can climb trees.
"So you're complaining that the two of us are interfering with your important business?" Ian retorted expressionlessly.
Lynn answered him expressionlessly.
"Objectively speaking, that is indeed the case."
"It's over, Lynn's doomed," Cedric cried out with a mournful face.
Ian placed his hand on Lynn's forehead.
"Are you sure it's not just feverish delirium?"
"If a high fever persists for a long time, it can easily lead to some dysfunction of the brain's nervous system. The most common symptoms are decreased responsiveness, extreme fatigue, and lethargy. If the high fever is severe and does not receive effective treatment for a long time, it can also lead to seizures or delirium."
But I am perfectly conscious right now. I haven't had any convulsions, nor do I seem very tired, so the claim that I'm delirious from the fever is incorrect.
Cedric and Ian exchanged a glance, both seeing the bewilderment in each other's eyes.
"His condition is even more serious than being delirious from a high fever!"
"What should we do? Should we send him to Mrs. Pomfrey?"
Lynn stopped their attempt.
"Don't worry, I know my current condition isn't quite normal, but it's not an illness and doesn't require any treatment. I'll feel better in a few days."
Despite what he said, Cedric and Ian were still not entirely at ease with him. They felt that Lynn was currently in a state of shamelessness, capable of anything.
After dinner, Lynn walked straight out of the auditorium, intending to go directly back to her dormitory.
On the way, he seriously considered whether Hermione would still agree if he found her alone in a secluded corner the next day and asked her to kiss him.
After careful deduction, he concluded that the probability of Hermione agreeing to his request was no more than 5%, while the probability of her grabbing his arm and biting him was over 90%.
Biting and kissing are two completely different concepts. Lynn didn't think he would have any major emotional fluctuations after being bitten by Hermione, after all, he wasn't a pervert.
A day has passed, and the current stripping value has dropped to 83.1%, indicating that his previous assessment of the timeframe was somewhat underestimated.
If it continues to drop at a normal rate, it would take at least four days for the stripping value to return to 0.
As Lynn walked toward the Slytherin underground common room with these thoughts in mind, he suddenly saw a blurry figure at a deserted corner of a corridor.
Lynn narrowed his eyes, mentally calculating the likelihood of being attacked at Hogwarts. However, before he could finish his calculations, the petite figure stepped out of the shadows and into the candlelight.
Upon seeing the newcomer, Lynn lowered his guard, as he calculated that the possibility of Hermione attacking him was 0%.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
Hermione pursed her lips and didn't speak. The orange candlelight shone on her rosy face, making her look adorable.
She clutched the hem of her robe, the crumpled fabric mirroring her conflicted heart.
The girl looked like she was about to tear her clothes apart before finally making up her mind. She ran over to Lynn's side, leaned over, and gently, like a dragonfly skimming the water, kissed Lynn's left cheek with her lips.
"You're not allowed to go see any other girls, do you hear me!"
Hermione seemed to be trying to make her voice sound fierce, but it was clearly trembling, making Lynn feel like she was a rabbit fiercely protecting a carrot while saying "This is mine."
"I heard you." Lynn's reply sounded obedient, which pleased Hermione.
Then the rabbit, having asserted its dominance and replanted the carrot in the ground, fled in panic.
Lynn didn't move. He remained where he was, his face still calm. He reached out and touched the left cheek that Hermione had just kissed.
"I told her to kiss her right cheek, why did she kiss her left cheek instead?"
He was talking to himself in the deserted corridor.
On the panel, the emotional stripping value has somehow changed to 31.5%.
As long as the update is early, yesterday's chapter won't be considered a gap <( ̄︶ ̄)>
