My Hogwarts has a serious problem.
Chapter 342
Chapter 343
Lynn was unaware that Percy had led the disciplinary committee to arrest Malfoy.
That afternoon, he was sitting in his office receiving a reporter who had come to Hogwarts specifically from the Daily Prophet.
The reporter's name was Rita Skeeter. She wore a brightly colored robe and a pair of unsightly glasses. At first glance, she didn't seem like a good person.
Lynn felt a little familiar with the reporter's name. In the original work, the only reporter who appeared and left a name was that unscrupulous female reporter who could turn into a beetle.
However, when facing Lynn, her face was filled with a fake, ingratiating smile, as if the person sitting opposite her was not a Hogwarts student, but the editor-in-chief of the Daily Prophet.
Lynn glanced suspiciously at the reporter who seemed a bit off, sensing that she had ulterior motives, and became wary.
He hadn't read the latest issue of the Daily Prophet yet. If he had, he would know why this woman was staring at him with that look.
Skeeter discovered a new code to promotion.
"Mr. Bellock, if you have nothing else to do now, may we begin the interview?" Skeeter asked in a tone she had never used with any interviewee before.
Lynn waved his hand, and an exquisite teapot flew over and filled the cups in front of him and Skeeter with tea.
"Excuse me, ma'am, but we'd better hurry and finish this interview within half an hour if possible. I have a meeting to attend later."
[As soon as we met, President Belloc warmly poured me tea and expressed his great appreciation for the interview, saying he had taken half an hour out of his busy schedule to entertain me. This youngest Hogwarts professor in history, and recipient of the Order of Merlin, was so humble and polite, without the slightest hint of arrogance that comes with early success.]
Lynn stared at the green quill pen as if he'd seen a ghost, and wrote the sentence on the parchment in almost five seconds after he finished speaking.
Skeeter noticed the change in Lynn's expression and smiled kindly as she spoke.
"Never mind Mr. Belloc, since you have limited time, let's talk about our own things."
Lynn's lips twitched, wondering if there was something wrong with her memory.
Wasn't this woman an unscrupulous reporter in the original story?
Although her current behavior is quite unethical, it's just too embarrassing!
"I heard that the reason you became the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts last semester was because Gilderoy Lockhart, the adventurer and bestselling novelist who had already been hired, was discovered to be a fraud who was proficient in the Obliteration Charm? So Headmaster Dumbledore had no choice but to have you replace Lockhart and impersonate him to teach the Defense Against the Dark Arts class?"
"Yes, I didn't originally intend to become a professor, but at that time Professor Dumbledore really couldn't find anyone else," Lynn said, taking a sip of red tea while glancing at the shorthand quill out of the corner of his eye.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, who had already been hired, was suddenly revealed to be a fraud!
When Hogwarts had no one available and Dumbledore was tossing and turning at night, Lynn Belloc, a young wizard who was only in his third year at the time, stepped forward!
He couldn't bear to see the students in the castle not learning valuable knowledge, nor could he bear to see his classmates and friends having textbooks but no professors to teach them. So he resolutely applied to the helpless Dumbledore to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and passed the professor's test perfectly.
We all know that the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor seems rather insecure, and under these circumstances, Lynn Belloc resolutely chose to take on this extremely high risk.
Just as Lynn was staring in disbelief at the contents of the parchment, the "unscrupulous" reporter asked another question.
"How much salary did Dumbledore pay you last year?"
Lynn was still shocked by how shameless someone could lie so blatantly, and subconsciously replied.
"I thought the job at Hogwarts was too cheap, so I didn't take it."
Hogwarts Headmaster Dumbledore offered Professor Belloc a generous salary, but the selfless professor righteously refused, saying that he wanted to serve the students in everything he did, and that mentioning money was an insult to him!
Lynn:
Is this really about me?
Just then, a knock on the office door pulled Lynn back to reality from her dazed state.
"Please come in."
Hermione pushed open the door and came in. She saw Skeeter sitting opposite Lynn and knew that Lynn was currently on business, so she tiptoed over to him and quietly reported to him that Malfoy had been captured.
Lynn nodded, unsurprised. He had already spoken to Snape, and after much persuasion and by making some deals involving selling Harry, Snape agreed not to interfere with any of the student council's work.
"Should I go to the disciplinary committee office and wait for the meeting later?"
Lynn nodded: "If you're hungry, go to the break room and get some snacks. The cookies are really good today."
Just as Lynn and Hermione were talking, the scratching sound of a pen nib sliding across parchment on the desk rang out again.
Even now, having stepped down from his professorship, President Belloc continues to care for every student. When student council members come to his office to report, he still makes sure they have something to eat, kindly offering them some snacks. The young witch from Hogwarts looks at him with longing, the affection in her eyes bringing a smile to our faces as adults—ah, youth should be like this.
Hermione's cheeks flushed instantly, the blush spreading all the way to the tips of her ears. Then, flustered, she covered her face and ran out of the office.
Lynn looked at Skeeter speechlessly.
"I'm telling you, there's a limit to talking nonsense. You've gone a bit too far."
Sensing the dissatisfaction in Lynn's tone, Skeeter quickly grabbed the quill pen he was about to use to continue writing.
"Sorry, sorry, it's its old habit again. I'll delete that sentence and promise not to say anything like that again."
Lynn shook his head helplessly.
"Let's get going, the others are waiting for me."
Skeeter tactfully asked a few more simple questions, and the quill pen became much more subdued. Although it was still somewhat exaggerated, it wasn't as cheesy as it had been before.
