My Hogwarts has a serious problem.

Chapter 270, Section 267: Has Lynn finally figured it out?

During this period, Behirde would come to Lynn's office every weekend to ask questions, and Tom, like a young boy experiencing his first love, would always try to subtly inquire about her situation from Lynn.

Later on, she even expressed her desire to get out of Lynn's pocket and become an office decoration.

Although he said he wanted to get some fresh air after being cooped up for so long, he actually just wanted to see what Behirde looked like.

Lynn didn't think it was a bad thing.

Dumbledore's assessment of Tom was never wrong; the reason this boy later became a ruthless dark monster was essentially because he lacked love.

Even if Lynn's series of brainwashing educations could change Tom's personality and views on things, Tom would never understand what "love" felt like without experiencing it firsthand.

All Lynn did was tease him about it, without teaching him anything like how early relationships affect studies or how good children aren't allowed to have early relationships.

Even if Tom didn't find true love, it would still be a good thing to let him experience the feeling of being moved.

"I didn't have any romantic feelings for her; I just felt sorry for her, which is why I paid more attention to her!"

Tom kept explaining loudly, while Lynn nodded perfunctorily and said, "Yes, yes, I know. You have no feelings for that girl, you're just being pitiful."

Tom sensed Lynn's evasiveness and kept making pointless excuses until an owl flew into the office.

The office door was ajar; it flew in from outside, tossed an envelope onto Lynn's desk, and then flew out again.

Lynn raised an eyebrow and opened the unsigned envelope, inside which was only a thin piece of parchment.

The letter was short; a piece of parchment less than a foot long could summarize everything clearly.

After reading the entire letter in two minutes, Lynn frowned deeply.

Old John reported to him on the progress of acquiring the Hogwarts twelve board members' properties in England. The plan was going smoothly, but during the meetings held by those pure-blood families, someone actually proposed to buy the twelve families' seats on the Hogwarts board of directors.

In his letter, Old John inquired whether this was another backup plan he had arranged, and if so, how they should cooperate.

Lynn had never heard of Mrs. Roll from the other side of the Atlantic, let alone considered her as a backup plan for acquiring a seat on the Hogwarts Board of Trustees.

Since he entrusted the matter to Old John, it meant he absolutely trusted him and wouldn't look for anyone else. Besides, he couldn't find anyone else he could entrust this matter to with peace of mind except Old John.

Where else can you find an old butler like John, who has stood the test of time and remains so loyal?

So here's the question: if Mrs. Roll and Lynn have no connection, why would she want to acquire a seat on the Hogwarts Board of Governors?

Lynn paced back and forth in the office for a long time. Because there were too few clues, he couldn't figure out the reason. However, what he could confirm now was that he and Mrs. Roll were now rivals. They had the same goal, and there were only so many Hogwarts board seats. Lynn didn't want to give any of them to outsiders, especially outsiders whose purpose and attitude were completely unclear.

He sat at his desk and thought for a moment, then wrote a reply to old John.

First, he thanked him for everything he had done for him, then explained that he had not delegated the task to anyone else, and sincerely said, "Old John, you are the person I trust the most. I am still in school, and I can only trust you when it comes to things outside of school."

Finally, he was instructed to keep a close eye on Mrs. Roll. It would be best if he could figure out her motives for wanting to buy a position on the Hogwarts Board of Governors. If he couldn't figure it out, he should do everything he could to prevent her from buying any position on the Board of Governors.

From the letter sent by old John, Lynn learned that he had his own mole among these British businessmen. Under such circumstances, it would be easy to sabotage their plan to acquire seats on the board of directors. All they had to do was get the twelve board members to communicate with each other and believe that Mrs. Rowe's acquisition motives were not pure and that she had ulterior motives.

Lynn believed that Old John could handle this matter well, after all, he had a professional team at his disposal.

After finishing with Old John's matter, Lynn had his owl deliver the reply. Just as he was about to leave, Umaru came to his office to find him.

"What are you going to do?" She saw Lynn getting ready to change clothes as soon as she entered the room.

"It's Halloween today. What else can I do besides go to the school's Halloween party this afternoon? Aren't you going too?"

Hogwarts only holds four banquets a year: on the first day of school, Halloween, Christmas, and the day before the holidays. As a professor, Lynn naturally has to attend, and he even has to wear a special gown.

As soon as Xiaomai entered the room, she plopped down on the office sofa. She always thought that the sofa in Lynn's office was more comfortable than her bed.

"Yes, you're getting ready for the Halloween party, but Hermione isn't."

Lynn blinked at her: "Hermione's not going?"

"She came to me this morning and asked me to tell you that she wants you to accompany her and Harry, Ron, and the others to the anniversary celebration for Almost Headless Nick tonight." Umaru lay on the sofa, her head resting on her arms, her two slender white legs dangling loosely on one side. "So, are you going to the Halloween party at Hogwarts, or are you going to the anniversary celebration with Hermione?"

As she asked the question, Xiaomai secretly observed Lynn's expression, trying to figure out if Lynn would hesitate because of this.

Based on her understanding of Lynn's straightforward and inflexible nature, she knew that Lynn would reject Her without hesitation at this point.

"I'm going to the anniversary banquet."

As expected, Lynn answered Umaru without even thinking.

Suddenly, Umaru sat up abruptly from the sofa.

What are you going to participate in?

As Lynn took off her robe again and put it away, she asked again, puzzled.

"What's wrong? I said I'm going to Nick's death anniversary dinner, is there a problem?"

"No problem, of course there's a problem!" Umaru quickly waved her hand and said, "Are you sure it's okay if you don't go to the Halloween party?"

"It's alright. I don't necessarily have to attend this banquet. I can just let Dumbledore know in advance."

Lynn's reason for choosing to attend the Death Anniversary Banquet was actually quite simple. He had long wanted to get to know ghosts better, especially their way of life, but he had never had the chance to learn about them. Whether it was the Slytherin Bloodbarrow or Lady Grey, whom he had met the most before, they were both the cold and aloof type.

Hermione's invitation just happened to give him an opportunity.
