Chapter 146, Section 144: Tom's Capture Plan

Chapter 147, Section 144: Tom's Capture Plan (Part 5)

"Jerry Lin, how do we find Professor Quirrell now?"

"The man in the black robe, codenamed Marsor, asked."

"Come with me. I've figured out his movements in the Forbidden Forest over the past two days. If I'm not mistaken, he's chasing an injured unicorn right now."

"So, he's about to succeed?"

"Yes, I think he must be very anxious right now, because Tom can't wait any longer."

"You mean the mysterious man is in very bad shape right now?"

"That's right. His ultimate goal should be the Philosopher's Stone that Professor Dumbledore hid in the fourth-floor corridor, but now he's deliberately killing a unicorn to drink its blood, which proves that Tom's condition is very, very bad, and he needs this thing to prolong his life."

A cool, clear female voice suddenly interrupted their conversation.

"Speaking of which, Tuffy is supposed to be a male mouse, right? Why am I being made to speak in a woman's voice?"

"Actually, I think it's pretty good," Masor said cheerfully.

Jerry answered his question.

"For security reasons, we need to hide our identities so that even if our plan fails in the end, Tom won't know who we are. The combination of two male wizards and a female wizard is even more deceptive."

"Then why me?"

"Because you talk the least," Jerry said matter-of-factly. "We're all still guys, and if we talk too much in a woman's voice, observant people will notice something's wrong. So of course, we have to choose the one who talks the least to play this role."

"That's right, exactly," Masor agreed cheerfully.

His argument was reasonable and well-founded, but Tuffy still felt that they were simply trying to scam him.

The evening breeze rustled the branches and lifted a corner of the three men's black robes. They walked through the woods, and before long, Jerry, who was leading the way, suddenly stretched out a hand.

The three mice immediately stopped.

They hid in a dense thicket of bushes, cautiously peeking out one by one.

Quirrell was breathing heavily.

He gripped his wand tightly, his robes soaked with sweat, making him look as if he had just been pulled out of the water.

"Hurry up! You idiot! Hurry up! You're about to kill it! Don't stop!"

A faint but sharp and piercing voice rang out from behind his head, urging him on.

Quirrell felt extremely tired. Tonight's hunting plan was not going well. The unicorns were on guard, and those damned centaurs were also helping to protect them from the outside.

It took him a whole day to find a lone adult unicorn in the forest, and so a long chase began.

He used countless spells and finally managed to wound it. The unicorn was now at its last gasp, but Quirrell's condition was also extremely poor.

Excessive use of magic had left him exhausted; it seemed that every step he took required all his strength.

But he couldn't stop when his master urged him on.

"Okay, okay, Master, I will. I will kill it."

The unicorn he had targeted was now lying on the open ground in front of him, struggling. One of its hind legs was broken off, and a horrific wound had been slashed across its snow-white belly.

Silver blood pooled beneath it, but it struggled to its feet, its will to survive propelling it to its feet once more.

The unicorn ran desperately forward, trying to escape alive. But the next moment, a mournful cry rang out, and it couldn't hold on any longer, collapsing helplessly to the ground once again.

Quirrell also knelt down on the ground at this moment. He was exhausted, but his master was still urging him forward.

Meanwhile, not far away, two boys were staring blankly at everything. They were Harry and Malfoy, both of them stunned by what they were seeing.

Quirrell crawled slowly across the ground like a wild beast, approaching the unicorn carcass lying on the ground, just as he was about to bite it.

"Fainted and collapsed! (Triple boost)"

A dazzling red light suddenly shot out from the bushes beside him. Just as the spell was about to hit Quirrell, an invisible barrier suddenly flashed past him, blocking the stun spell.

Although the Ironclad Curse blocked the effect of the spell, the Stunning Curse, amplified threefold, also carried a tremendous impact, knocking Quirrell to the ground and preventing it from taking that crucial bite.

As Quirrell collapsed to the ground, his face contorted with rage, he raised his wand in the direction from which the Stunning Spell had come.

"Avada Kedavra".

The moment the green light appeared, Jerry, who had launched the sneak attack, reacted extremely quickly, taking two steps to the right and dodging the killing curse.

Just like in a turn-based game, after Quirrell used the Killing Curse, the man in black cast the curse again.

"Thunderous Explosion! (No Amplification)"

A blinding flash of light suddenly appeared around Quirrell. He rolled around desperately to avoid it. The Explosion Curse didn't hurt him, but when Quirrell regained his balance and stood up, he was furious.

At first, he was less than an inch away from the unicorn's carcass, but now he is a full ten meters away.

"Who are you!"

He called out in a hoarse, but not stuttering, voice.

The mysterious man in black robes pointed his wand at Quirrell's head, as if he were ready to blow his head off with an explosive spell at any moment.

"I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to introduce myself since this is our first meeting. You can call me Jerry."

Jerry has a gruff voice, and just by listening to his voice, you would subconsciously think that he is a strong, muscular man.

Quirrell didn't think too much about who the man in black was. He needed to drink the unicorn's blood right now, and whoever stood in his way was an enemy!

"Avada Kedavra!"

Another killing curse was cast, but this kind of light-shaped curse, which only works when it hits its target, had no chance of having any effect on Jerry.

His physical abilities were comparable to those of a troll, but he was much more agile. Whenever the light shone on Quirrell's wand tip, he was able to dodge his death curse in time by moving around.

"Is this your greeting gift? Perfect timing, I also have a gift for you—Thunder Explosion! (Double the amplification)"

A deafening explosion rang out the instant he finished chanting the incantation. This explosion was louder, had a wider range, and was more powerful than the previous one!

Just as the battle was raging, not far from the battlefield, Harry and Malfoy huddled behind a tree, trembling with fear.

"I think we need to use the Spark to call Hagrid and the others over," Harry said, swallowing hard, his voice trembling.

Unusually, Malfoy did not object to his words: "I, I think so too."
