"Twin tails?"
Hermione's attention was drawn to Lynn's words, and she even forgot about being angry.
She said it shyly.
"Why change your hairstyle? What's the difference between not tying your hair up and wearing pigtails now?"
Lynn said with certainty.
"It will definitely be different. I think twin tails would suit you well, or a single ponytail would also be fine."
Hermione casually tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, hiding the lower half of her face in her school uniform, her cheeks looking ashen.
"Then, will you help me comb my hair?"
Lynn's eyes widened.
"Are you kidding me? I've never had long hair before, so how could I tie it up? I'm just giving you a suggestion, recommending a hairstyle. You can try it yourself when you have time. Why would I need to comb it?"
"..."
Hermione clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
Her face turned pale with anger, and she kept taking deep breaths, trying her best to suppress her rage.
"Lynn".
The little girl called out calmly.
Lynn didn't see Hermione's expression; he was rummaging through the leftovers from lunch, remembering there was still a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans left uneaten.
"what?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Hermione suddenly pounced on him, biting his arm like an angry puppy!
Lynn didn't react at all, turning her head to look at Hermione, who was taking a big bite, and they stared at each other.
He's thick-skinned and tough; Hermione's bite barely scratched him.
What are you doing?
Lynn looked at Hermione with a puzzled expression, popped a Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean into his mouth, and asked again.
Well, I'm lucky, it's lemon flavored.
Hermione was in despair.
She felt that Lynn was made of stone, inside and out!
"You! You bastard!"
The little girl, with red eyes, shouted and ran away.
Lynn grinned as he watched Hermione's retreating figure, then popped another Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean into his mouth.
It's really fun to tease little girls.
He suddenly felt nauseous and spat out the freckled beans in his mouth.
Pah! It tastes like pepper!
……
library.
Lynn, Cedric, and Ian are doing their homework together here.
Cedric was a year ahead of them and studied different subjects, but Lynn and Ian were in the same year. They were taught by the same professor for every subject at Hogwarts, so the assignments were the same.
"Have you done your Potions homework?" Ian was looking for instructions on how to process dried nettles in his book.
Lynn shook her head.
"You can write this last, because the next Potions class will most likely be changed to a self-study period. When I was helping out in Professor Snape's office yesterday, I heard him say that he seems to have something to do in Diagon Alley the day after tomorrow."
Lynn's information was usually accurate; he often helped out in Professor Snape's office and could easily get advance notice of such information.
Ian closed his Potions textbook and started working on his Transfiguration homework, which was due tomorrow.
Suddenly, a commotion broke out in the library, and many young wizards looked up at the ceiling in surprise.
A crow flew in from outside.
The black bird, with a letter dangling from its beak, circled in the air above the library with its wings outstretched, finally settling on Lynn's table and flying over.
The crow carried the envelope to Lynn, then stared at him with its scarlet eyes, gesturing for him to take the letter.
Lynn took the letter from the crow's beak with an incredulous look on his face.
"Can crows be messengers now?"
Cedric and Ian also looked bewildered, and they both shook their heads.
Cedric said hesitantly.
"Putting aside whether this kind of bird can be used as a messenger, its own symbolism is very bad. I guess only enemies would use crows to deliver letters to each other."
Lynn frowned as he looked at the letter in his hand. The front of the envelope was blank; there was nothing inside.
"Get out! All of you! Including this crow, get out!"
Before Lynn could even open the envelope, Mrs. Pince, the librarian, angrily kicked them out.
Cedric and Ian, carrying their own belongings, stood with Lynn outside the library.
They looked at the crow perched on Lynn's shoulder and asked with some concern.
"Do you know who sent you this letter?"
Lynn didn't say anything, but instead took the envelope and turned it over.
There is a strange mark printed on the lower left corner of the back.
It was a cross with four sides of equal length.
"I think I know who sent this to me," Lynn said softly.
Cedric and Ian had no intention of prying into Lynn's privacy. They parted ways at the library entrance and went back to their respective dorm rooms.
The crow that delivered the letter wasn't afraid of strangers at all; it perched on Lynn's shoulder, as if waiting for him to open the envelope.
The combination of the man and the crow attracted the attention of many young wizards along the way. Some acquaintances curiously asked him if this was his new pet, but Lynn casually brushed it off.
He walked all the way back to his dormitory before opening the envelope in his hand.
The letter was short, only a few lines long:
Someone from our family recently returned to their hometown and brought back some useful items. I've selected a few that I think are useful and am sending them to you. Please don't refuse; this is a token of our gratitude, and we hope you'll find them useful.
The package will arrive within an hour of you receiving the letter.
Please don't mind Fokin, because it's also our partner.
—Sister Abros
Lynn tilted his head to look at the crow perched on his shoulder and asked tentatively.
"Your name is Fujin?"
The crow seemed to understand him and nodded in a human-like manner.
"Don't you have a brother named Wuni?"
Foggin met Lynn's gaze with its blood-red eyes, without answering his question.
Wizards' pets are mostly spiritual beings, so Lynn didn't dwell on the raven's name; he was currently troubled by the letter Rozier had sent.
Sending him things so openly and honestly, won't that attract the attention of that old bee?
Or did they reach some private agreement to relax the restrictions on contacting him?
Lynn couldn't figure out what this meant, and since the letter had already been delivered to him, he couldn't refuse to accept the package.
Lynn didn't stay in the dorm any longer; he didn't know how much Rozier had sent him.
It would be quite a spectacle if a group of several owls flew into the Slytherin common room carrying a huge pile of things.
As expected, Lynn's premonition was correct.
He arrived at the grass outside the castle and hadn't been waiting long when he saw a flock of owls flying in from the horizon.
They struggled to hold onto a large package and slowly descended in front of Lynn.
