My Hogwarts has a serious problem.
104. The Big Bad Wolf and the Little Squirrel
After Charms class that day, Ron was in a terrible mood.
Today, Professor Flitwick taught them their first spell at Hogwarts, the Levitation Charm.
However, his practice partner in class was Hermione, that nosy and annoying girl.
Most importantly, he performed terribly, failing to cast a single spell successfully throughout the entire lesson.
Because of this, Hermione arrogantly pointed out his shortcomings, and he was naturally unconvinced. As a result, she used a beautiful levitation charm, which not only earned her praise from Professor Flitwick, but also gave him an invisible slap in the face.
“No wonder everyone hates her,” he said to Harry as they struggled through the crowded hallway. “Honestly, she’s a nightmare.”
Just then, someone bumped into Harry and then hurried past them.
It's Hermione.
Harry caught a glimpse of her face and was surprised to find that she was crying.
"It seems like she heard you."
"So what?" Ron said defiantly.
But he also showed a hint of unease: "She must have noticed that she doesn't have any friends."
Harry clearly didn't quite agree with his friend.
"Isn't Lynn one?"
"He's a Slytherin!" Ron retorted.
"We are Gryffindor, that's different!"
Harry felt it wasn't right to just leave Hermione like that, but Ron was his friend after all, so he shrugged.
"Oh well."
……
Hermione felt extremely uncomfortable.
Tears streamed uncontrollably from her eyes.
She clearly always wanted what was best for everyone; she clearly listened to Lynn and stopped dwelling on their violation of school rules; she clearly only pointed out Ron's mispronunciation and then gave him the correct example, yet she still ended up being disliked.
Hermione felt very wronged.
She had so much to say and wanted to confide in someone, so she skipped the next class and searched the whole castle for Lynn, but couldn't find her anywhere.
In the end, she could only hide in the women's restroom and secretly wipe away her tears.
This place is not what she imagined before she came.
She not only failed to make any friends, but was also disliked by others.
Hermione was like a little squirrel isolated by her pack, hiding alone in a tree hole, covering her head with her long tail and crying silently.
Lynn, who was hiding in the Room of Requirement, writing furiously, had no idea what Hermione had just gone through.
Cedric's words greatly inspired him. He spent three days verifying whether the idea could succeed, and finally found that it actually was possible!
So he immediately took advantage of the moment and wrote down his conjectures and experiments on parchment.
He never intended to perfect the curse on his own; Professor Fox was undoubtedly an excellent tool, capable of providing significant assistance in this matter.
As soon as Lynn finished writing the letter, he rushed to the owl's room.
He was certainly not some heartless capitalist; his own owl had just completed a transcontinental delivery a week ago, and he definitely wouldn't let it do it again this time.
Lynn plans to rent one of Hogwarts' communal owls.
He spent a long time fooling around in the owl's room, and finally managed to get an owl that didn't seem very smart by using a handful of corn.
Watching the owl spread its wings and fly away, Lynn felt a sense of relief.
He had a premonition that this was the last obstacle to completing the Soul Sealing Curse. If Professor Fox's reply could help him, then his plan would have a very high chance of success.
After sending the letter, Lynn was in a great mood.
He walked towards the auditorium humming the tune of a song whose name he couldn't remember.
Hogwarts was bustling with activity today. Countless bats fluttered across the walls and ceiling, while countless other things, like low, dark clouds, hovered and danced above the dining tables, causing the candle flames inside the pumpkins to flicker.
Delicious dishes suddenly appeared on golden plates, as lavish as a school opening banquet.
"Where have you been?" Cedric's two pockets were bulging, filled with all sorts of candies.
Lynn snatched half of it from his pocket and stuffed it into his own.
"I'd completely forgotten it's Halloween Eve." Lynn unwrapped a piece of candy and popped it into his mouth, thoroughly enjoying the cloyingly sweet taste.
"Where did you get all this candy? Did you go to the professor and threaten to cause trouble if you didn't get it?"
Cedric stared speechlessly at the robber in front of him.
"Of course not, it was Professor Sprout. She stuffed a bunch of stuff into my pockets as soon as I entered the auditorium."
Lynn looked around, feeling like he had forgotten something.
"Where's Ian? I haven't seen him."
"His paper on universal spell-breaking is very well written. Professor Flitwick thinks it is good enough to be used as a teaching model in the future, so he asked him to revise it. So he will probably come a little later."
Lynn was still looking around aimlessly, still feeling like he'd forgotten something today.
Until he saw the professors' seats on the platform, where one professor was missing, Professor Quirrell.
Suddenly, he remembered something he had forgotten!
Today is Halloween, which in the original story is the day of troll attacks.
He saw Ron and Harry feasting at the Gryffindor long table, but Hermione was nowhere to be seen.
Lynn frowned, then gave Cedric a briefing before hurriedly turning and leaving the auditorium.
These past few days he's been so engrossed in researching and improving the Soul Sealing Spell that he's almost forgotten the plot of the first year is still progressing.
In the original story, Hermione was not in danger today, but he was afraid that his arrival would cause Hermione to not hide in the women's restroom as before, and he didn't even dare to think about the consequences.
On the way, he saw Quirrell hurrying towards the auditorium.
His heart sank slightly; this proved that the giant had been released.
Lynn didn't care about whether it was perverted or not anymore. He started from the toilets on the first floor of the castle and searched every single women's toilet.
Just when he was about to give up and decide to find the troll and deal with this destabilizing factor first, he suddenly heard a familiar crying sound in front of a door.
Lynn breathed a sigh of relief; a huge weight had finally been lifted off her shoulders.
He calmed himself down, straightened his fairly neat robe, put on a smile again, and then pushed open the door and went inside.
"Let me see which poor little girl is hiding here, secretly heartbroken?"
The big bad wolf, who loves to deceive, found the squirrel hiding in a tree hole.
The little squirrel, its eyes red from crying, pouted, wiped its tears with its sleeve, and let out a soft hum.
"I wasn't secretly sad..."
Before she could finish speaking, she opened her mouth again and burst into tears.
Lynn was amused by her performance. He squatted down in front of her and touched her fluffy hair.
