"Don't rush, gentlemen, don't rush." Moriarty's eyes flashed with a hint of surprise and delight. He was thinking about how to get involved in the Quidditch World Cup when the sports directors of Britain and the United States extended an olive branch to him.
"Slytherin Castle welcomes interesting people, gentlemen," Moriarty smiled at Ludo Bagman and James Blanche, extending a charming invitation to Slytherin Castle. "I will have my butler deliver invitations to you both. Please await my good news."
Ludo was overjoyed. As a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic, he knew that the current Minister of Magic had run into a brick wall with Moriarty.
There is an unwritten rule in the British magical community: do not interview or visit Moriarty without permission.
Currently, the only person generally recognized as having been invited to Slytherin Castle by Moriarty is Mr. Lockhart, which is one reason why Lockhart's popularity is growing.
Now, Ludo has also been invited by Moriarty, and he seems to see a great deal of prestige and Galleons beckoning to him.
The other wizards looked at Ludo and James with envy. Putting aside their relationship with Moriarty, they also longed to see the legendary Slytherin Castle.
James was also excited; he suddenly swung his fist—his expression, movement, even his eyes were exactly the same as Jericho's. Jericho shook his head; James had just been talking about him.
Moriarty and Lilith exchanged a glance, then looked at Jericho and then at James. They were definitely father and son.
"Ding-dong~ We have detected that the host has come into contact with two key figures in the 421st Quidditch World Cup. Therefore, there are two tasks available for the host to choose from."
Mission 8: Join the U.S. Quidditch national team and win the World Cup for the United States! Mission deadline: End of August 1990.
Reward: 10,000 points! And a series of missions will be unlocked for the host in the American magical world. Mission failure: The host will be punished by never being able to ride a broom again!
Task Two: Join the British Quidditch national team and win the World Cup for Great Britain! Deadline: End of August 1990.
Reward: 20,000 points! Mission Failure: The host will be disgraced and become a sinner in the British magical world!
Please select; once selected, it cannot be changed.
"Fortune favors the bold, so I choose mission two!" Moriarty chose mission two without hesitation.
He had already lost the concept of a country long after he transmigrated here. A country could not be a constraint for him, otherwise, since his soul was Chinese, would he still have to go to China to help Chinese wizards?
So Moriarty chose Mission Two purely because he had more points, and he has no intention of entering the American wizarding world at the moment.
"Mr. Moriarty?" Jericho reminded him, "Let's go in, everyone's here."
Moriarty looked at Fudge, who was bowing deeply to the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen! My distinguished guests!"
I sincerely hope you can treat this place as your own home and have a great time!
"You're quite the smooth talker. If you ask me, even without support, Fudge could easily climb to a decent position with that mouth." A slightly hoarse voice sounded in Moriarty's ear. Lilith whispered, "Uncle Barty!?"
Uncle Barty?
Moriarty turned around, and before him stood a middle-aged wizard with short, neatly combed gray hair—Barty Crouch.
The Barty family was once incredibly powerful, being one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Purebloods and a family in power. There were even rumors that the Crouch family had the blood of the Peverell family.
What now?
Batty Crouch is like a clown eating lemons under a lemon tree.
"Lilith," Barty nodded to his old boss's granddaughter. He knew why the Pilliwick family had abandoned him, so he didn't blame Lilith. Instead, he placed his hopes on Moriarty: "Moriarty... Mr. Barty, teach him a lesson, let him know that not just anyone can become Minister of Magic!"
Barty glared at Fudge and silently shrank back into the crowd.
Moriarty discovered that this was the only sentence Barty had said at both parties, indicating that he was indeed greatly affected.
"Poor man." Jericho shook his head, then hurriedly followed Moriarty's footsteps—Moriarty had already strode towards the hall.
As if he had made an appointment with Moriarty, Justus Pilivik led the heads of many powerful families to take action.
As the crowd slowly moved, Moriarty saw Leon, who represented the Mintham family, and several Slytherin seniors. Eventually, the crowd gathered behind Moriarty.
Moriarty looked at Fudge, who had lost his courage; it seemed that his worst fears had come true!
"Please!" Fudge tried to remain calm, forcing a smile. "Everyone, come in quickly."
Justus, leaning on his cane, walked past Fudge and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Fudge, I suppose you are unaware of Mr. Moriarty's proposal!"
"A...a proposal?" Fudge was stunned. At the pureblood gathering, it was just a suggestion, but coming from the mouth of the ruling family, it was a proposal?
"But he—Mr. Moriarty—is neither a Ministry of Magic official nor a member of the Wizengamor council," Fudge stammered. "How can his plan be called a proposal?"
"While you are quite right, more than half of the Ministry of Magic officials have submitted proposals to Minister Millison Bagno, which contain exactly Mr. Moriarty's plan!" Leon Minchum said loudly.
"You?" Fudge was greatly surprised and felt insulted that the powerful family had sent such a young boy as Leon to talk to him.
However, Leon seemed oblivious and continued to berate Fudge: "You didn't know? Even I—a Ministry of Magic intern—know this, and you're completely unaware!"
Leon was secretly delighted. He raised his head with a smug look on his face. His admiration and gratitude for Moriarty had reached an unparalleled level. The fact that he was able to stand up and say so much today was all the result of Moriarty and Justus's discussion.
It is conceivable that the Mincherm family will grow stronger again along with Leon.
"Alright," Justus tapped his cane. "Leon, go and give that proposal to Mr. Fudge. Mr. Fudge, please make a decision quickly."
Fudge's hands trembled as he took the roll of parchment, glanced at it briefly, then tore it to shreds and threw it into the air: "This is impossible! No one will agree to your demands!"
Moriarty drew his cedarwood wand and pointed it at the parchment. "Restore it immediately!"
A stack of parchment floated perfectly intact in front of Moriarty, who turned and walked away, with Justus and the others following behind him.
They hadn't walked far when Moriarty's voice rang out: "Looks like we'll have to go to Hogwarts and ask our headmaster for his opinion! Jericho?"
"Sir, I'm here." Jericho replied cooperatively, though he didn't know why he was being called.
"Go and inform Mr. Lockhart and Mr. Marcus that I am willing to support them—"
"No--"
Fudge interrupted Moriarty with a shout, "Bring me that bill, and I think we can still talk."
After Fudge finished speaking, he suddenly felt suffocated. He couldn't stand up and quickly grabbed the unicorn stone sculpture at the door. Moriarty hadn't even entered the door before he was defeated!
Moriarty and Justus exchanged a smile, then turned away. Everyone laughed, and a few seconds later, they were all seated in the hall of Fudge's mansion, enjoying their meal.
After lunch, Fudge began arguing with Moriarty and the others.
After an afternoon and an evening of discussion, Fudge finally got the support he wanted to overdraw a large portion of the power he had gained since becoming Minister of Magic.
For example, appointing Barty Crouch as Director of the Department of International Magical Exchange and Cooperation.
Arthur was appointed as the Director of the Office Against the Misuse of Muggle Items.
Arnold Pisgood was appointed as the leader of the task force to reverse accidental magical events.
He handed over the British dragon breeding business to old Flint.
Merlin's Third Class Badge was awarded to Lockhart.
They agreed to give the pure-blood families some of their assets.
They promised the ruling family several seats in Wizengamot.
……
Too much is too much.
Fudge even promised Moriarty that once he was a little older, he could choose any position in the Ministry of Magic, as could Lilith, Jericho, Mintham, and others.
Most importantly, Moriarty's "Wand Set Plan" and "Joint Education Plan" were internally approved.
