The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 737 The Best Professor Dumbledore

Chapter 737 The Best Professor Dumbledore

Three days have passed since Moriarty returned. A full three days and three nights.

During this time, Moriarty behaved as usual, but those who knew him well noticed that undercurrents were lurking beneath his calm exterior.

Lilith noticed that Moriarty's hands sometimes trembled when he took notes.

Jericho noticed that Moriarty, while instructing the younger Slytherin players on how to maintain stability during a high-speed dive, would occasionally gaze absently at the Black Lake.

Soldaya discovered that Moriarty often circled Hogwarts repeatedly at night.

It was as if Moriarty was about to leave Hogwarts, imprinting every detail in his mind with the deepest and most intense emotions.

Although only three days and three nights had passed, it felt like an eternity to Lilith and the others.

If Lilith and the others hadn't known that Moriarty wasn't such a sentimental person, they would have almost thought that Moriarty was going to go and fight Light and Gamp alone.

Lilith and Hermione recounted the entire process of their last time travel, trying to find out the reason for Moriarty's strange behavior.

A group of Hogwarts' most outstanding students reviewed the events more than 30 times but found nothing unusual.

Moriarty's unusual behavior and his friends' anxiety caught the attention of the professors.

Professor Dumbledore summoned the professors to his principal's office.

"Moriarty must be having some kind of mental problem," Professor Snape said. "We need to talk to him, otherwise he won't be able to handle the light and Gump."

"You're an expert in this area, Albus," Professor McGonagall said, looking at Dumbledore.

The latter was sitting in his armchair, his hands crossed on the desk, his knuckles clearly visible.

"Me?" Dumbledore frowned, his pale hair slightly disheveled. "I'm not sure if it will work."

Because Dumbledore was thinking about the night before his duel with Grindelwald.

No one knows what Dumbledore was thinking or feeling that night.

No one knows how restless and sleepless Dumbledore was that night.

What a night that was!

Dumbledore still finds it unbearable to recall and doesn't want to remember it.

Although Dumbledore didn't know exactly what was wrong with Moriarty, he vaguely felt that it was related to Moriarty's enemies.

"It's up to you, Albus!"

"If it were you, there would definitely be no problem."

"The reason we can stay comfortably at Hogwarts is because Hogwarts always produces great wizards like you and Moriarty. Let's pass on this power."

The continuous, sincere words pulled Dumbledore back to reality from that memory.

He saw the professors stand up, look at him, and their eyes lit up.

OK.

Dumbledore agreed.

He's a man of action, always ready to go.

Dumbledore found Moriarty under the willow tree on the small hill by the Black Lake.

The surface of Black Lake was frozen, reflecting the sliver of sunlight peeking through the thick clouds like a mirror.

The dim light shone on Moriarty's face, and Moriarty stared intently into the light.

Dumbledore had no doubt that Moriarty could see something in the light; after all, geniuses are always hard to understand.

However, Dumbledore himself looked at it for a long time and only felt his eyes getting sore.

"Thinking of your enemies?" Dumbledore said softly. "I've heard that light can travel through light itself. Will these rays guide you to find the light?"

"I think I've found it, Professor."

Moriarty said in a low voice that he knew Dumbledore had come, and he also knew why Dumbledore had come.

My mindset has indeed been off lately, which is the result of Moriarty's deliberate indulgence.

Because Moriarty couldn't understand why Hikari's true identity was that person!

Or, there's an 80% chance it's that person.

Moriarty was always rational; everything was under his control, entirely governed by his wisdom.

Moriarty only uses his emotions when it comes to all sorts of stunningly beautiful witches.

But that was all built on a foundation of wisdom, and then...

But this time, Moriarty couldn't figure it out; his wisdom was no longer effective.

So Moriarty decided to let emotions dictate the problem.

"But I was confused, I was shocked, I was devastated."

Moriarty said, shifting his gaze from the sunlight to the ice.

His gaze was like a knife, seemingly piercing through the thick layer of ice.

"Hikari's true identity is both unexpected and reasonable, and that's why I want to be full of doubts."

Is death really that terrible?

"Even someone like Guang pursued immortality with reckless abandon and without regard for his own safety."

Dumbledore fell silent for a moment.

He never expected that Moriarty would discover the true identity of the light.

Moreover, judging from Moriarty's tone, he spoke with such certainty that it seemed that Hikari's true identity was someone he kept talking about but couldn't quite say.

Salazars Slytherin?

Dumbledore's first thought was of the founder of Hogwarts, Moriarty Slytherin's ancestor.

Moriarty is about to face his ancestor in battle.

The inner torment and pain are evident.

That makes sense.

Dumbledore sat beside Moriarty, looking at him, his blue eyes gazing into his grey eyes.

"Death is just another path that everyone must take."

"I watched my loved ones die before my eyes, more than one, you know that."

"On the night before my duel with Grindelwald, I fantasized about either killing Grindelwald or being killed by him."

"We are prepared for death, and also prepared to continue down another path."

"As the gloom gradually fades, everything turns silvery white, and then you will see..."

"A dreamlike illusion?" Moriarty said.

"Ah, you know there," Dumbledore looked up at the sky. "It seems you've taken another adventure without my knowledge."

"Light must have been there too, but he didn't take the other path; his attachment to the human world was too strong."

"I dare say he didn't have the courage to embark on the next adventure, a brand new, great, death-defying adventure."

Dumbledore smiled at Moriarty: "I'm not like him; I'm a Gryffindor."

"Thank you, Professor." Moriarty smiled at Dumbledore. "You've made something clear to me."

"What?"

"No matter how powerful he was in life, he's a powerful coward now."

"And also, as the gloom gradually fades, everything becomes silvery white, and then you will see..."

"The sky has cleared up."

The clouds in the sky drifted to the other side, revealing the winter sun.

The sky brightened instantly, and the sunlight, though not dazzling, fell warmly.

"Ha ha ha," Dumbledore laughed as he stood up from the ground, "that's two sentences."

"Then there's a third thing," Moriarty stood up and looked at Dumbledore, "I'd like to ask for leave, Professor."

"I'll come back after everything is over."

"If we're lucky, we might even be able to enjoy Hogwarts in winter together."

Dumbledore knew that Moriarty was going to take the initiative this time.

He said solemnly, "Go, take your companions with you."

"Everyone at Hogwarts is with you."

(Old Deng has embarked on yet another great adventure, RIP. He was our best principal. Ah Hong dedicates this article to him.)
