Chapter 552 Lilith: So this is the kind of man you are!
Moriarty left the room and wandered aimlessly.
He was worried about Furong and couldn't rest peacefully anymore.
Without realizing it, Moriarty had arrived at the library.
He had walked this route at least eight hundred times, if not a thousand times; it was completely etched into his mind, and he walked it subconsciously.
Moriarty smiled knowingly as he recalled sneaking into the library at night to read books when he was in first grade.
"what?"
Moriarty suddenly sensed another magical force.
A gentle, cool magic.
Even the air seemed to be filled with the smell of snakes.
Moriarty pursed his lips slightly; he knew who the master of this magic was.
"Lilith?"
Unsurprisingly, Lilith also discovered Moriarty.
In the library's restricted section, a shapely figure gradually emerged from the darkness and walked towards Moriarty.
"I can't believe it really is you," Moriarty exclaimed. "If there were an award for the most frequent visitor to the forbidden section, you would definitely be the one to win."
"Ha, you really are Versailles."
"I'm not like you, the kind of guy who can remember everything after just flipping through a book."
Lilith pulled her leather cloak tighter around herself, seemingly taken aback by Moriarty's lame joke.
What girl doesn't love a warm bed, nestled in the arms of her beloved?
Lilith glanced meaningfully at Moriarty, her eyes filled with resentment.
He then turned the forbidden book in his hand to the front and showed it to Moriarty: "Thirty Animagus Experiments Concerning the Sphinx".
"I have chosen an extremely difficult path, and to continue on it, I will naturally need to put in tremendous effort."
Lilith's eyes changed, revealing a resolute expression.
For the past five years, she has visited the forbidden book section almost every day.
In the art of human transformation, Lilith has reached the forefront, and no one can help her. The path ahead must be explored by her alone.
The process was so difficult that Lilith wanted to give up almost every day, but she would repeatedly do mental preparation to encourage herself to keep going.
Moriarty clearly knew what Lilith was thinking, but he also clearly couldn't help her.
He took the banned book and sighed, "I remember reading this book. In the end, he didn't complete 30 experiments. He collapsed and died on the 18th experiment."
"Ugh," Lilith said, irritably tossing her hair, "That's why I hate spoilers the most."
She flicked her wrist and threw the banned book onto the bookshelf with a "smack".
"Thanks to you, I have to choose another similar banned book to read again."
Lilith rolled her eyes at Moriarty, who then sat down on the floor against the bookshelf and asked her, "Will this even work? Most of the ideas in banned books are unsuccessful."
That's absolutely right; all the successes are written in those magic books that can be sold publicly.
Lilith took down a stack of old, forbidden books and slowly squatted down to sit next to Moriarty.
"Can I borrow your shoulder?"
She spoke softly, then tilted her head and rested her right cheek on Moriarty's shoulder.
Moriarty and Lilith were so close that Moriarty could even see her eyelashes and smell the air she was breathing.
"How so?"
Lilith muttered to herself.
"Something is better than nothing?"
I guess so.
"In short, I've already decided that after reading all the forbidden books here, I'll go to the forbidden book sections of the other ten magic schools."
Moriarty chuckled; he was unaware that Lilith had such thoughts.
But that really aligns with Lilith's thoughts.
Lilith is the kind of person who is suited to stand on the shoulders of giants and strive to explore upwards.
Given some platform and some groundwork, she will achieve even greater success.
Moriarty listened as Lilith poured out her heart.
Although her words were full of fighting spirit, one could also sense her exhaustion.
"It must have been very hard," Moriarty couldn't help but say.
Lilith sighed softly. "Remember when I told you on the train that I wanted to overturn the Protection Act?"
"How could you do that without great strength?"
"In short, perfecting human shapeshifting techniques is my biggest goal right now!"
As she spoke, Lilith seemed to have been fully revived, stood up, and smiled slightly at Moriarty: "I might take a break from school for a while, who knows? Cherish the time we spend as classmates."
"Oh?"
Moriarty thought about it for a moment and then understood.
Lilith was never a little swallow under the eaves, but a fledgling eagle trying to soar into the sky.
"Are you going to another magic school during your leave of absence?" Moriarty teased her, "to become a good scholar who sneaks into the forbidden library."
"Hmph," Lilith raised the forbidden book in her hand, revealing a helpless expression, "Let's finish reading what we have first."
"Alright," Moriarty patted his behind and stood up, "You keep watching, I should go too."
"Oh, can't sleep and looking for some excitement?" Lilith's eyes, peeking out from behind her wisps of hair, were full of mischief.
"Feeling restless and uneasy."
Moriarty had no intention of hiding anything from Lilith.
"Internal and external troubles, huh?" Lilith said thoughtfully. "Gamp is already hard to deal with, and now Larpo has appeared in the school—those old fogies have so many tricks up their sleeves."
Lilith now understands why so many people throughout history have pursued immortality; the longer one lives, the more backup plans one has.
"Don't be fooled by the peaceful atmosphere inside and outside the school now. The moment Beauxbatton arrives, the battle horns will sound and the curtain will rise."
Moriarty's gaze passed over the forbidden book section, looking up at the dark clouds and the moon in the sky.
It's going to rain.
Lilith didn't respond, but instead seemed a little smug. "Ever since I could turn into a snake, I've become very sensitive to the weather."
"Really?" Moriarty suddenly had a thought. "Perhaps you could research in this direction?"
"A snake that controls the weather? Sounds pretty cool, doesn't it?" Moriarty smiled warmly.
"Thank you," Lilith said, though she was happy, she still said haughtily, "You should stop smiling. I'm used to your cold face, and now you're smiling so emotionally, ugh—"
Seeing Moriarty's face growing increasingly dark, as if he might unleash a torrent of venom at any moment, Lilith quickly changed the subject, "Speaking of which, what if Beauxbatons arrives tomorrow, and all three schools are gathered? Does that mean they'll have to take action tomorrow?"
"Umbridge and Ramsay from the Ministry of Magic, and Ralph, Lionheart, and Hades from within the school," Moriarty listed them one by one. "They have also formed a force to be reckoned with."
“Speaking of Larpo,” Lilith clicked her tongue, “he saw that I was perfecting my shapeshifting technique and said he could help me if I wanted to become stronger.”
After speaking, Lilith looked at Moriarty: "What's your opinion on this?"
"Um…"
Lilith watched, and after a slight pause, Moriarty actually nodded!
"He's right. His understanding of snakes is probably unmatched."
"He has lived in the human world for thousands of years under different identities, so it's not surprising that he has mastered strange and unusual magic."
Moriarty began to analyze.
But Lilith lowered her head and said coldly, "Just because of this, you actually want to push me to Larpo's side?"
"No, that's not what I meant..." Moriarty was a little taken aback by Lilith's tone and hurriedly explained.
"Stop talking! So this is the kind of man you are!" Lilith said with some indignation.
"Hey, what are you talking about!" Moriarty sighed and smiled wryly.
But Lilith had already turned away, so Moriarty had to pull her back, pulling her so hard he almost pulled her into his arms.
The moment they got close, Lilith's heart skipped a beat, and then she saw Moriarty pat her head.
"Seriously, what nonsense are you talking about?"
Moriarty was somewhat amused and exasperated: "I said that no one in the world could match Larpo's knowledge of snakes, but I didn't say that even dead wizards couldn't compare to him."
"Huh?" Lilith's eyes widened; she had a guess: "Could it be..."
“That’s right!” Moriarty laughed. “My ancestor, Salazars Slytherin!”
"I'll take you to see Salazar's spirit; maybe he can help you."
Moriarty knew that a wisp of Salazar's soul was still resting in Slytherin's graveyard.
These years have passed, and they should have regained some of their strength.
When Lilith heard Moriarty say he would take her to see Salazar, her face flushed red, and she felt dizzy the whole time.
See Salazar…
Isn't that just meeting the parents?
Ahhh, I'm going to die, I'm going to die.
The usually aloof Lilith was surprisingly flustered. She suddenly remembered something, "Do you remember the college we were assigned to when we entered the university?"
"What?" Moriarty was confused.
"I drew the sword of Gryffindor!" Lilith slapped her forehead. "Send a Slytherin who drew the sword of Gryffindor to see Master Salazar? Oh, kill me then."
