The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 536 The Goblet of Fire

Chapter 536 The Goblet of Fire

The day after Moriarty returned to Slytherin Castle from Poland, news of Durmstrang's changes reached England.

"Grindelwald escapes! Nurmengard is destroyed!"

"Former Durmstrang principal Igor Karkaroff has publicly stated that the position has been taken over by Gellert Grindelwald."

"Some people may not know who the current headmaster is, so I suggest that those who don't know review the history of magic."

"That man is back!"

"The shadow of Voldemort had just faded, and now Grindelwald is here! When will Europe return to peace?"

In just one day, the number of such reports and articles surged.

Moriarty had Luke buy all the reports about Grindelwald, which piled up into a small mountain in his study.

After reading through one report after another, Lilith said with considerable disagreement, "These people all believe that Grindelwald's emergence has led the European wizarding world in a worse direction."

"The most ridiculous thing is," Lilith pulled out an internal message from the Auror's office and read it aloud, "that the German Ministry of Magic rushed to Durmstrang upon hearing the news, only to be terrified by Grindelwald's Fiendfyre spell."

"The German Minister of Magic has called on the International Confederation of Wizards and the International Association Against Dark Wizards to bring Grindelwald to justice."

Lilith couldn't help but chuckle, saying, "And Grindelwald declared: 'Besides Dumbledore, what can any of you do to me?'"

"That's unreasonable," Lilith said, putting down the message and giving Moriarty a knowing smile. "I have the bigger fist, so you have to listen to me."

"Haha, old Grigory is still quite resolute." Moriarty took out a letter, which Poseidon had just delivered.

He smiled, unfolded the letter, and handed it to Lilith.

"You see, Grindelwald is actually quite popular within Durmstrang."

Lilith glanced at the signature on the letter. "A letter from Viktor Krum?"

"Yes, he said in his letter that the first thing Grindelwald did after becoming headmaster was to include the Patronus Charm in the fifth-grade exam."

"The second thing is to include the three unforgivable curses in the 6th grade exam."

"The third thing is to include Animagus in the final test of the 7th grade graduation exam."

Moriarty's smile widened, much like Grindelwald's.

Lilith's mouth dropped open in utter shock: "Oh, my Merlin!"

"He...he..." Lilith stammered, "Is he trying to turn Durmstrang into a training ground for dark wizards?!"

"Who knows?" Moriarty remained noncommittal.

"It's always a good thing for a young wizard to be able to learn magic."

"Mmm," Lilith nodded, a hint of desire for power flashing in her eyes, "If the foundation of justice and law weren't in London, I'd want to go to Durmstrang."

Lilith never expected that the very next day she would have the opportunity to study at Durmstrang.

Grindelwald publicly sent a letter to Dumbledore.

It expressed a desire to befriend Hogwarts.

Every year, Grindelwald sends a group of Durmstrang students to Hogwarts as exchange students.

Hogwarts could also send a group of exchange students to Durmstrang for study.

for a period of one year.

That is, one semester.

Dumbledore agreed to the request.

Before the wizards could even process the news, the Ministry of Magic panicked.

Fudge rushed to Pilivik Estate overnight.

"What should I do?"

Fudge grabbed old Pilivik by the hair and asked him.

"Grindelwald is a lawless bastard! Now he's teamed up with Dumbledore!"

"He's not like Dumbledore, a wizard who follows the rules! He'll flip the table at any moment!"

Fudge covered his face with his hands. The moment he received the news of Grindelwald's release from prison, he had a premonition that he, as minister, would soon be out of office.

Old Pilivik rubbed his temples. If looks could kill, Fudge would have died countless times.

"You can't expect a 150-year-old to give you advice after you wake them up at 4:27 a.m.!"

His face was dark.

They kicked Fudge out.

For a fleeting moment, Fudge wanted to run away.

However, Gampo immediately took action after daybreak.

"Dumbledore is determined to go down the path of uniting magic schools; let him be."

"I'll show him that even a magic school isn't a place where the headmaster can do whatever he wants!"

"And Moriarty, I'll show him that the Slytherin family isn't the oldest or noblest wizarding family after all!"

Gamp took out several clan emblems of various shapes from his secret room.

"Time flies by so fast that people have forgotten some of the once powerful and illustrious families."

Gamp sighed softly.

He wrote a few letters and sent them out along with the clan emblem.

"Jackson," Gamp said to old Pilivik after finishing writing, "Tell Fudge to retrieve the Goblet of Fire! Restart the Triwizard Tournament!"

"The Triwizard Tournament?" Old Piliwick mused. "Last year, Hogwarts held a five-school league. Holding a similar competition this year probably won't produce good results."

"Heh," Gamp sneered, "This year, Moriarty will discover that many gifted transfer students have appeared in the three schools!"

"He's destined to be a loser!"

"I see, I understand now." Old Pilivik's eyes flickered slightly, realizing that there were some reclusive wizards within Gamp's circle of interests.

Now Gamp is ready to call them into the world.

"I'll go inform Fudge right away." Old Pilivik prepared to leave.

"etc--"

Gamp squinted and said meaningfully.

"Bring me the list of Slytherin students in the same year as Moriarty."

Old Pilivik nodded, his level of vigilance immediately reaching its maximum.

Soon, a list of Slytherin students was placed on Gump's desk.

Gamp read it carefully.

His gaze lingered on a name.

"Tom?" Gump smiled slightly and called out, "Tom? Are you there?"

What's frightening is that the study was completely empty.

The door clicked open.

A ghost floated down to Gamp's side.

It was Tom Riddle.

"Tom," Gamp said with a broad smile, "you must be wondering why I immediately agreed to let you join the Immortal Organization when you asked to?"

"I don't know," Tom answered honestly.

This was indeed beyond his expectations.

He was sent by Moriarty to be a spy, and he originally thought that joining the organization would be a very difficult thing.

Tom is ready to overcome the difficulties.

To his surprise, Gamp only glanced at him before approving it.

Moreover, they haven't assigned Tom anything yet, and have even shown him many ancient wizards' manuscripts, records, and books.

It's like they're grooming Tom.

Tom just always felt that Gamp had ill intentions.

At this moment, Gamp's smile resembled that of a weasel offering New Year's greetings to a chicken.

Tom is a handsome guy, a bit of a looks-obsessed person, and naturally looks down on ugly men.

Gamp waved his hand in front of Tom, and a puff of black smoke appeared, transforming into seven items.

Tom's eyes narrowed; it was indeed his seven Horcruxes.

"Tom, the reason I agreed to let you join is simple: from the perspective of Horcruxes, you are the successor of an old friend of mine," Gump said with a smile.

"What are you talking about?" Tom looked at Gamp with the same eyes that looked at an idiot.

All of his elders except Moriarty were dead.

"Heh," Gamp chuckled, shaking his head, his expression turning serious. "Alright, then let me ask you, who was the first wizard to create a Horcrux?"

"Of course it is—" Tom almost blurted out the person's name. As the dark wizard who created seven Horcruxes, how could he not know that person?

But as the words were about to come out, Tom suddenly remembered something, took a deep breath, and opened his eyes wide in horror.

"Impossible!" Tom's voice trembled slightly, a tremor he himself didn't even notice.

"Why not, Tom?" Gamp laughed again.

He lowered his voice and said, "Come to our side, Tom."

"There are many big shots in the organization, any one of them could strangle Moriarty, Dumbledore, oh, and that Grindelwald."

"As simple as strangling a newborn kitten or puppy."
