The mastermind behind Hogwarts
Chapter 51 Gryffindor Heroism
Chapter 51 Gryffindor Heroism (Please read on!)
After leaving the Room of Requirement, Moriarty went straight to the Great Hall.
On the way, Moriarty pondered that although Mr. Borgin was not often in the shop, going to Borginborough's shop all the time would inevitably lead to him being spotted. Next time, he should put the Vanishing Cabinet that he won in the lottery in Knockturn Alley, or Hogsmeade would also be a good choice.
The other vanishing cabinet can be placed at Hogwarts for easy access.
Moriarty currently has 900 points, and playing a Quidditch match on Friday will earn him another 200 points, more than enough to unlock the blind box lottery. Therefore, he doesn't need to go to Knockout Alley for a while, and can use the Vanishing Cabinet to research runes.
Having made up his mind, Moriarty also went to the auditorium, only to find that the auditorium, which should have been lively, was now quiet, with no enthusiastic conversations, and only occasional whispers.
The group of energetic little lions were nowhere to be seen at the Gryffindor table, and the students from the other three houses all looked grim, especially at the Ravenclaw table, where a somber mood hung in the air.
"Moriarty~" Penelope ran to Moriarty with a sob in her voice, threw herself into his arms, and cried as if she had suffered a great injustice.
Moriarty frowned, gently patted Penelope's shoulder, and then helped her up. "What happened, Penelope?"
When the snakes on the Slytherin table saw Moriarty arrive, they seemed to have found their leader and all stood up and came over.
Jericho, usually so radiant, now spoke with a somber expression: "Bill Weasley is back! This afternoon, Gryffindor beat Ravenclaw by over three hundred points!"
So that's how it is. Moriarty glanced at Penelope, who was crying uncontrollably. Ravenclaw had suffered a defeat unlike any other in a century. Given her sense of belonging and honor to the House, it was no wonder she was so heartbroken. Wait a minute!
"You mean Bill Weasley is back?!" Moriarty realized something was amiss and exchanged a glance with Leon.
Leon's face was so ugly it looked like it could be wrung out of water: "Without any warning or news, Bill Weasley suddenly returned to the Gryffindor team as the Chaser, and his partnership with Charlie Weasley has produced an effect greater than the sum of its parts!"
That means after our match against Hufflepuff on Friday, we have to play Gryffindor again next Tuesday!
"What makes him so special?" Penelope said angrily. "That Bill Weasley! He's not even a player anymore, so what makes him a member of the Gryffindor team? Just because he's the student council president?"
I thought Quidditch was fair, but I never imagined Gryffindor would do something like replacing Mandy Fanny with Bill Weasley!
"Tch," William scoffed dismissively. "According to Gryffindor's logic, as long as they have their own reasons, they can override the school rules!"
Bill Weasley must be a hero of Gryffindor now. Good heavens! Professor McGonagall actually agreed to let Bill Weasley rejoin the team!
So, you're saying I could ask Professor Snape for a special note to bring back Captain Peondado from when I enrolled?
"Ha, come on, I would never do something so shameful!"
William's remarks surprised Moriarty. William was of mixed race and rarely targeted Gryffindor. The fact that even he harbored resentment towards Gryffindor showed that Gryffindor had indeed messed up this time.
Lilith walked over to Moriarty, crossed her arms, and said coldly, "This is why everyone is angry. Gryffindor exploited a loophole in the game: there is indeed no explicit rule that you can't make substitutions during a Quidditch match."
But Gryffindor is being completely blatant! Everyone knows Bill Weasley quit the house team a year ago. Even if he's very skilled, shouldn't he still follow the rules?
"As expected, they are a bunch of arrogant and reckless lions who think they can do whatever they want. Gryffindor won the game, but they lost the hearts of the people!"
Penelope didn't want to show her vulnerable side to Lilith. She wiped away her tears, her eyes still red, and looked at Moriarty: "Everyone wants you to defeat Gryffindor and teach them a lesson!"
"I think Mr. Moriarty certainly will! I firmly believe Mr. Moriarty is the greatest player of this century!" Leon's tone was firm and resolute. "This is the best chance to make those lions admit defeat! Just you wait and see, don't be fooled by their current revelry in the Gryffindor common room; next Tuesday will bring their nightmare!"
"I understand, everyone, don't worry," Moriarty nodded slowly. "Winning the Quidditch Trophy is my goal since joining the team, and neither Gryffindor nor the Weasley brothers can stop me from achieving it!"
The little snake nodded in approval, and the students from the other two houses cheered, "Moriarty beats up Gryffindor!"
Moriarty swept his gaze over the students, pressed his palms down, and everyone quieted down. Moriarty spoke again, this time his voice becoming authoritative and powerful: "There have always been people who have criticized my actions—for example, leading Jericho and others to take the lead in admitting their mistakes."
In reality, I hope that through my efforts, more people will become true Slytherins, keeping their honor in their hearts! If this honor is challenged, we will unleash our power like a volcanic eruption and strike our enemies with deadly force like a viper!
Similarly, Tuesday afternoon's match between Slytherin and Gryffindor—just as I just mentioned, and just as you all expect!
Okay, let's start dinner now. I'll move Friday's Chinese dinner to Tuesday.
Moriarty was starving and ate a lot of smoked beef and roasted Italian sausage. Seeing that he was wolfing down his food but still maintaining his composure, Lilith made a special tomato sauce, served it in a stemmed glass, and pushed it in front of Moriarty.
"This was specially prepared for you; it has the effects of dispelling cold, keeping you warm, and refreshing your mind~"
"What kind of magical food is this?" Moriarty sniffed the orange-red juice, tentatively took a sip, and blinked. "It tastes good. You've improved."
After dinner, Moriarty gathered the players together to discuss tactics against Gryffindor.
"It's a pity we don't have the Pensieve," William said regretfully. "Otherwise, we could show Mr. Moriarty the match. With Mr. Moriarty's insight, he would surely have found the Weasley brothers' weaknesses."
"Hey! No Pensieve, but a Memory Castle!" Jericho exclaimed to Moriarty with delight. "My Christmas present for you! It lets you access your memories!"
"Go get it," Moriarty ordered. "William, I need the memory of that match!"
The snakes acted methodically according to Moriarty's instructions. In order to defeat Gryphon, the snakes adopted the same attitude they would have used for the NEWT test. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff also helped the snakes.
The little lions seem to have changed their ways in the last few days, no longer being naughty, but everyone knows they're holding back a lot of energy, waiting to defeat the Slytherin team!
In this atmosphere, Moriarty faced Hufflepuff, with Tonks taking over the commentary duties as Seeker.
The one who filled this vacancy was none other than Bill Weasley!
When Moriarty first met Bill Weasley, he was a tall, thin, and handsome man with long red hair tied in a ponytail. His mannerisms could only be described as "cool."
Bill was originally very popular, but because Gryffindor made a last-minute change of candidates, students from all three houses booed him as soon as he opened his mouth!
"The match is about to begin, and we see the Hufflepuff players coming out! Tonks is at the front..." Bill said weakly, and the students booed even louder. The little lions, naturally, had to defend their president and started arguing with students from other houses.
Charlie Weasley and Percy Weasley sat together, the two brothers covering their foreheads. In the past, it was always the Gryffindor brothers, along with Houndhouse and Houndhouse, who were targeting Slytherin. Now the situation was reversed!
"If we don't beat Slytherin on Tuesday, we'll be laughed at for years to come!" Charlie muttered to himself.
No one thought Hufflepuff could beat Slytherin, and when the Slytherin team entered the field, the stands erupted in loud applause, with even badgers chanting Moriarty's name.
Ms. Hodge blew the silver whistle to start the match, and Moriarty unsurprisingly received a system mission: "The host must catch the Golden Snitch if Hufflepuff wins fifty points! Reward: 200 points. Mission failure: Punishment: The host must kiss the flying broomstick that Tonks rode in front of the entire school!"
It's estimated that with Moriarty doing this, the news that the Slytherin descendant is a pervert will spread throughout Europe in less than three days.
Moriarty was used to the strange system punishments and was not affected at all. He flew in the air and circled like an eagle.
At the start of the game, Tonks organized several attacks and scored a respectable number of points.
It wasn't until Hufflepuff scored fifty points, or five goals, that Moriarty caught the Golden Snitch, and Slytherin won the game with a score of 360 to 50.
The young wizards had various opinions on why Slytherin didn't shut out Hufflepuff, but most agreed that it was because Moriarty and Tonks had a good relationship.
Furthermore, Tonks is well-liked among the Slytherin players, so it's understandable that the Slytherin team went easy on him.
