The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 480 Not Human

After Moriarty finished speaking, he didn't give the danger a chance to spread.

He gently tapped the staff in his hand against the vampire who was roaring in mid-air.

"Snap!"

A layer of ice appeared on the vampire's body.

The next instant, "Bang!"

His body exploded into fragments, scattering ice crystals all over the ground.

The devil's aura vanished instantly!

Sophie breathed a sigh of relief and glared fiercely at the white cloak outside.

More and more white cloaks appeared, moving silently and slowly toward Moriarty and his group, their movements perfectly synchronized, as if they were all one person.

"Are you sure they're wizards?"

Dumbledore casually asked a vampire, because he didn't see any white-cloaked figures carrying wands.

"I don't know," the vampire said hoarsely, a hole in his neck surrounded by rotten flesh. "They were too fast."

Before they could finish speaking, the hems of the white cloaks fluttered up, and a dazzling red light swayed and shot over!

"Watch out!"

"Moriarty shouted, already prepared, he raised his Slytherin staff, which flashed with silvery-white magical light."

Thick ice walls appeared before us, instantly resembling a city wall!

However, the expected scene of blocking the red light spell did not occur. The ice wall seemed to be non-existent, and beams of red light pierced through it.

A look of surprise flashed across Moriarty's eyes. His ice wall could even withstand the Avada Kedavra curse, yet it was now ineffective?

"I'll do it!"

Sophie nimbly leaped to the front, raised her fingers to meet the curse, and slashed down like a sword. A black shadow, like a bolt of lightning, cleaved the red light in two.

"I think I've figured out this magic."

Dumbledore's voice came from behind, his gaze serious and sharp, fixed on the white cloak.

"It's undoubtedly another ancient spell. I can't remember the incantation, but it's similar to a banishing spell—that's the only way we can understand it, since the effects are similar."

Inspired by Dumbledore, Moriarty also figured it out: "A magical effect that includes the removal of elements, is that right?"

"I think so. This also greatly prolongs the onset time of spells, so the spell's wind-up is too long," Dumbledore nodded slightly. "In the upcoming battle, we will use modern spells. And, Sophie... they don't have the ability to banish you."

After thinking for a moment, Dumbledore added, "That's how it seems for now."

Sophie raised her head, her gaze gradually turning cold, and suddenly jumped into the sky.

Many red skeletons grew on the demon's body. Sophie took off her black leather glove, revealing a bright red right hand with five long fingernails dripping blood.

A sudden gust of wind swept through the air, turning the bright crescent moon into a red moon.

Moriarty noticed that the four vampires looked excited, and the wind element in the wind told him that this space was being assimilated by Sophie's aura!

Dumbledore frowned deeply. As the most powerful white wizard of his time, he disliked being partners with demons, let alone one that didn't seem so friendly.

"Whoosh!"

Suddenly, a silver magic box appeared, revealing Sophie's bright red right palm.

Sophie's fingers twitched slightly, and something inside the magic box seemed to come alive, jumping restlessly.

"Bang! Bang!"

"Bang! Bang!"

"Bang! Bang!"

Moriarty and Dumbledore exchanged a glance, both noticing the surprise in each other's eyes.

Just now, it felt like their hearts were beating along with it.

No, it's not just "seems," it's actually true!

Moriarty placed his hand on his chest, and the warmth from his palm told him that his heart was burning.

He then looked at Dumbledore—the old man also looked surprised, but the old man's chest was gradually turning red!

Against Dumbledore's white robes, it looked as if he had been shot in the chest, spitting out a large amount of blood.

"Bang! Bang!"

"Bang! Bang!"

The thumping sound came from the air again, and the creature inside the magic box became restless, emitting a sinister red light.

Sophie turned the box, and Moriarty, Dumbledore, and the four vampires all felt a pang in their hearts.

"Is this Sophie's demonic power?"

Moriarty looked up at Sophie. He knew Sophie wasn't talkative, but he should explain himself. He had startled them!

However, the four vampires showed expressions of enjoyment.

In the air, Sophie smiled slightly: "Demons always love human souls, but I love human hearts."

She said to the woman in the white cloak, "Your hearts will be very safe with me, and you will have an experience unlike any other..."

She gradually fell silent, her face turning from cruel and smug to dark and then frozen in place.

"No? Heart?"

Sophie squeezed the magic box with trembling hands. It was her treasure, a box that could turn living beings into hearts and store them.

She was about to transform the white cloak beneath her into a heart and lock it in the box, but the magic box told her—

White cloak, no heart!

Sophie suddenly realized what was happening and yelled at Moriarty, "Moriarty! They're not human!"

"What?"

Moriarty was taken aback. It seemed that Sophie had been right. The white cloak had been standing still just moments before, but now it was surging wildly like an army!

"boom!"

A pair of giant black hands appeared out of nowhere in the sky, pressing Sophie down in their palms as if clapping!

"Sophie!"

Moriarty roared, but was immediately met with a wave of magical attacks: streaks of green light came from all directions, carrying intense killing intent!

"An instant-death curse! An instant-death curse even more powerful than Avada Kedavra!"

Moriarty didn't have time to utter another word; he could only aim at a fallen boulder amidst the chaos and hold it in front of him.

A beam of green light struck the boulder, instantly turning it into particles.

And then even more green light shot out like arrows.

"Ice Serpent Dance!"

Moriarty waved his staff, and twelve ice snakes coiled and twisted their bodies, protecting their master completely.

The green light was completely blocked, and Moriarty saw that the battlefield was divided into three parts by the white cloak.

Sophie battles in the air against a giant black hand and hundreds of skulls formed from smoke.

Sophie was very light, but the giant black hand always seemed to anticipate her landing point. Each skull had a different expression, as if it were launching a mental attack.

The second battlefield was Dumbledore's.

He turned the ground into a swamp, on which he could stand, but the white cloak gradually sank.

Foxes were flying above his head, and large trees were scattered all around him, indicating that he had also used physical methods to avoid the previous instant-death curse attack.

But the white cloaks seem to multiply, appearing in ever-increasing numbers.

With the Elder Wand at his side, Dumbledore unleashed a series of spells within the white cloaks, each magical ray as swift and fierce as lightning!

The four vampires, the last members of Cain's Brotherhood, could not escape the instant death curse and had already fallen to the ground.

The third battlefield was Moriarty's. The White Cloak's attacks were too intense, and he could only briefly check the condition of his companions before he was caught in a fierce battle.

"Wind element magic!"

Moriarty raised his staff above his head, unleashing his full wind elemental magic.

With so many white cloaks, Moriarty opted for the quickest solution.

"Doomsday Storm!"

"The wind howls!"

Moriarty unleashed two powerful spells, a storm swept in, altering the heavens, and the giant hand and skull were shredded into nothingness, freeing Sophie from the first battlefield.

The storm, imbued with malevolent magic, resembled towering mountains, its immense pressure forcing the white cloak to the ground!

"What is that?"

Through the wind, Moriarty saw that the white cloak had been torn to shreds, revealing the attacker's true face.

They had tall, pale skeletons, but their faces and heads looked normal, and their eyes held two beams of light—each attacker was different, some blue, some purple, some green, some red…

"Ding-dong~ Host detected discovery of a lich, reward: two exploration lottery draws!"

It was a lich!

Moriarty's eyes narrowed.

If there are liches, there must be people who create them!

No wonder Sophie's demonic abilities didn't work; the lich wasn't a living being at all.

Moriarty's mind raced. He knew he couldn't use fire magic against liches—whoever created them must have taken precautions.

Dumbledore's modern spells obviously didn't work either, otherwise the fight wouldn't have been so difficult.

Although Dumbledore did burn the Infernal that Voldemort used to guard the locket in the original book, Liches are obviously of a higher level than Infernals, so setting fire to them would not have worked.

"Then..." Moriarty's eyes were filled with determination, "Let's use it!"

An ice serpent appeared beneath Moriarty's feet. He stepped on it and soared into the sky, brandishing his staff: "I once said, if all the negative emotions in the world could be treated with gentleness! Today, I will soothe your suffering in life with the gentleness of the ocean!"

The vast water elemental magic flowed from the staff in all directions, eventually converging in the nearby North Sea!

The sea surged with boundless waves, and a deep blue whale leaped from the surface!

"boom!"

The gentle blue whale charged into the battlefield and purified the liches, but it was unable to kill them.

Moriarty used his staff, and the blue whale transformed into seawater, like a cascading Milky Way, carrying the lich into the North Sea.

"Water Element Magic Circle"

An ice-blue magic circle appeared in Moriarty's palm.

"Liches cannot be killed, at least not until the person who created them is found. I have sealed them at the bottom of the North Sea."

As Moriarty spoke, he aimed the magic circle at the sea and pressed it down.

A ring of azure ripples spread outwards, the sea surface rippled in concentric circles, and finally returned to calm.

Sophie and Dumbledore came to Moriarty's side and looked out at the sea together.

Tonight's battle was truly thrilling.

"cracking!"

Fox suddenly cried out and frantically flapped its wings toward the south of Edinburgh.

Dumbledore looked over, squinted, and said, "Looks like one of your blue whales slipped through the net."

"Ha," Moriarty smirked, "It can't escape. It has my Ghost Serpent on it. I deliberately let it go. Perhaps it can lead us to its master."

"Great!" Sophie asked, "But can you catch it?"

At this moment, the lich seemed to have grown four wheels on his legs, running incredibly fast.

Moriarty confidently declared, "No matter where it escapes to, I will find it!"

It has been proven that wind elemental magic has a unique advantage in tracking.

Three hours later, Moriarty and his two companions followed the last lich and dived into a body of water.

The lich slipped into a small island in the water.

Moriarty and his two companions had no immediate plans to follow. "Professor, have you noticed? The water is getting darker and darker as it gets closer to the island."

Dumbledore frowned and remained silent. He noticed something. "Don't you have this strange feeling that this place is somewhat familiar?"

"Now that you mention it, I remember now," Moriarty said. "I must have seen this kind of seawater somewhere before. Where?"

"It's not just the seawater, but the environment as well—it's all so familiar..."

Dumbledore muttered to himself, turning around and searching for direction, until finally he froze, facing one direction.

After standing there for a long time, Dumbledore spoke: "Moriarty, look...over there..."

Moriarty looked in the direction Dumbledore was pointing: on the back of the island, there was a white building with a triangle at the top.

A large hole in the wall tells the story of how a group of criminals escaped from prison not long ago.

Moriarty's eyes lit up.

"Azkaban!"
