The mastermind behind Hogwarts
Chapter 452 Harry and Draco
"Ron!"
Goalkeeper Wood's eyes widened; someone had made a mistake in his team selections!
Moreover, this person is a first-year student who has just enrolled in school.
A sense of responsibility welled up in Wood, and he used a levitation charm to save Ron from falling 120 feet from the air.
Ron landed slowly on the lawn, along with George and Fred.
"Ron, Ron!"
George picked up Ron, and blood gushed down their bodies.
Ron's chest was smashed open, leaving a large oval crater; his entire chest was caved in.
Blood was gushing from the wound without restraint. Ron was breathing weakly and had fallen into a coma. His face was turning pale at an eerie speed.
"Ron! Ron!!!"
Fred called out his brother's name, hoping Ron would wake up.
"Get out of the way!" George grabbed Ron and ran as fast as he could. "I need to get to Mrs. Pomfrey, get out of the way!"
Fred was also waving his arms, as if he was desperately trying to clear a path.
The young wizards around them wisely made way so that the three Weasleys could pass unimpeded.
William in the stands gave a cold smile. "It's my turn to go on stage."
"Ron! Ron!"
William jogged from the stands to the three Weasleys, surprised by Ron's injuries, and calmly took out a small bottle of white cinnamon.
"Sprinkle this on Ron's wound, and it will stop the bleeding immediately."
William waved his wand, and Ron's blood-stained wizard robes vanished, revealing a hideous wound and his bare upper body.
Several girls turned their faces away because Ron had an ugly red mole above his belly button.
William, however, showed no disgust and carefully sprinkled white safflower on it, and Ron's bleeding stopped immediately.
George and Fred breathed a sigh of relief and looked at William gratefully: "Thank you, Professor, you saved Ron!"
William, instead of protecting him, blamed himself, saying, "I was here, but I failed to protect him."
"That's incredibly audacious! That bouncing ball is enchanted! Someone's deliberately trying to harm Ron!"
"I immediately cast a spell to stop the ball's flight, but someone was casting the opposite spell!"
Upon hearing William's words, Weasley's expression turned serious.
Someone wants to harm Ron!
The young wizards around them were also buzzing with discussion.
Some say Ron was being retaliated against, while others say Ron's curse might not be a curse that causes someone to be childless, but rather a curse that brings constant bad luck. Otherwise, how can you explain that Ron was seriously injured two days out of the three days he was at the school?
"You guys take Ron to the school hospital first, I'll handle things here."
William waved to the Weasley twins.
Then they began to check the young wizards present, and found that no one had used their wands while Ron was flying; they were all engrossed in watching Quidditch.
William feigned confusion, indicating that he would definitely report this to Dumbledore.
I was secretly overjoyed.
Just as William was immersing himself in playing the role of a serious and responsible good professor.
Draco stepped forward and asked, "Professor, Captain, is the team still holding tryouts? If so, I'd like to try out the Chaser."
Wood was pale. If another freshman were to get injured, not only would he be punished, but he would also feel guilty.
William, however, thought highly of Draco.
"The Sorting Hat made a good point by placing this kid in Gryffindor, huh, the Malfoy family's Gryffindor..."
William agreed and promised to protect Draco. After some persuasion, Wood reluctantly agreed to let Draco give it a try.
Draco nodded gratefully to William, and then a show began.
Watching Draco soar through the air, performing all sorts of difficult maneuvers, the young wizards below were filled with envy and began to discuss among themselves.
"Don't forget who his stepfather is; I'm not surprised he has such skills at all."
"Look at his flying broom, it goes without saying who bought it for him."
A sour voice said.
William narrowed his eyes.
"Hmph, this matter has always been a thorn in Draco's side. He hates it when others talk about it. I'll tell him later..."
Ten minutes later, Draco's trial ended.
Wood patted Draco on the shoulder affectionately: "You're the new roster spot for the team this year, Draco! You're our new Gryffindor chaser! You'll definitely be our secret weapon!"
Draco's face flushed with excitement as he gripped the flying broomstick tightly—a gift from his father, Lucius.
At that moment, Soldaya's voice rang out loudly from the stadium entrance.
"Senior Wood, you have to buy us a butterbeer on Saturday."
We were grooming Draco to be the next Slytherin captain, and now you've gotten away with it.
Everyone looked toward the entrance.
The Slytherin team has arrived.
Soldaya walked at the front, waving a friendly wave to Wood.
Wood went up to him. "Mr. Moriarty isn't here? I thought I'd get to see his skills today."
"Hey, Wood," Jericho walked over and joked, "Don't you want to see me? I've turned your goal into a sieve!"
Wood and Jericho were old rivals with a close relationship, and Wood didn't hold back in his retort. After a few words, the topic eventually returned to the first-year students.
"You have Draco, and we have Potter!"
Jericho snapped his fingers and called to Harry at the back of the line, "Potter! Come here, you're participating in the selections today too."
"Me?" Harry was flattered. "But, but I've only ridden a flying broomstick once, during flying lesson."
"Hmm~" Jerichoba smacked his lips. "Don't worry, you're a natural chaser. You didn't know that before, but you do now."
He then added, "This is no joke; Mr. Moriarty said it himself!"
"What?" Harry exclaimed, both surprised and delighted. "Mr. Moriarty... you mean me? A natural-born Chaser!"
Wood and the Gryffindor players also gathered around, looking Harry up and down.
Soldaya laughed and said, "The last time you called someone a natural player was the last time."
"Get lost! Moriarty was talking about me last time!" Jericho said irritably, ignoring him, and then addressed Harry, this time with a more serious tone.
"Porter, your father, James Porter, was an excellent Seeker. You've inherited his excellent genes; carry on those genes."
After Jericho finished speaking, Marcus, who was already prepared, handed Harry a flying broom.
"A Nimbus 1990s," Marcus said in a deep voice. "The gentleman won a championship with this broom."
Harry trembled as he took the flying broomstick.
"I will, I promise."
"I'm ready!"
Harry, leaning on a broomstick taller than himself, stood ramrod straight like a soldier going into battle.
"Don't get carried away like Merlin," Jericho flicked him on the forehead. "Observe the seniors' actions first. You'll go last, Neville! Explain the rules to Potter."
"Neville went to the library," Harry said weakly.
"Okay, I'll find another one."
Jericho scoffed and glanced at the first-year students. Pansy, Nott, and Sabine all lowered their heads, unwilling to explain the rules to Harry.
Jericho clicked his tongue meaningfully, and Harry blushed with embarrassment. He knew that Jericho was unpopular, but in front of so many people, Harry still felt a sense of shame.
"Draco, come here," Jericho found his target. "Even though you weren't assigned to Slytherin, you wouldn't want Slytherin to be without players, would you?"
Soldaya almost burst out laughing upon hearing this. "This Japanese student, calm down."
"Hmph, I'm not going to tell him."
Draco turned his head away and crossed his arms.
"Let me handle him," Soldaya said to Jericho, and then, after saying something to Draco, Draco walked toward Harry, though he still looked reluctant.
Harry was at a loss for words.
Draco had an argument with Ron on the Express, which didn't give Harry a good first impression.
But without Draco's help, Harry might have been ridiculed by Sabine and the others.
Moreover, Sabini and the others hadn't expected Draco to actually show up. Nott even swore, "Fuck, are you really Malfoy?"
Harry thought for a moment, then extended his hand to Draco and said, "Hello, um... my name is Harry, Harry Potter."
"I know you, no need for introductions." Draco shook his head impatiently.
Then he reached out and quickly shook hands with Harry, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Let me tell you, I'm not trying to help you, I just don't want to beat a Slytherin without a Chaser."
Finally, Draco reverted to his arrogant expression: "Yes, that's it!"
Soldaya just told Draco that Moriarty won't be playing this semester except for a few important games, and if Harry isn't selected, the team might not have a Chaser.
Harry scratched his head. "Alright, Malfoy, may we begin?"
"Let's go to the stands. Come back when it's your turn." Draco led the way out.
Twenty minutes later, Harry rode the Nimbus 1990S, and Draco instructed him, "Remember, never accelerate at low altitude. You need to be at least 150 feet before you can do those maneuvers."
Ten minutes later, Harry completed the selection brilliantly, leaving a deep impression on everyone with his speed in chasing the Golden Snitch.
Wood was troubled.
"Wood, I think if you keep scratching your head, you might go bald."
Gryffindor player Angelina told Wood that he was scratching his head vigorously, his face and neck turning red.
"Draco, you'll catch the Golden Snitch faster than Potter, won't you! Draco! Draco?"
Wood searched for a long time and finally found Draco in Slytherin.
At that moment, Marcus announced that Harry would become a substitute Chaser for the Slytherin team.
Harry happily found Draco and started talking non-stop.
Draco wasn't very comfortable with Harry's affection, but he had contributed to Harry's success and would occasionally say a few words in response.
The afternoon sunlight fell on the pitch, bathing Harry and Draco in a pale golden glow.
"Ugh, what bad luck," Wood said irritably. "Our new Chaser is a little teacher."
Jericho appeared next to Wood at some point and said, "Hey Wood, you're just too competitive."
"Nonsense! You've been beating me for three years!" Wood clenched his fist. "Do you know how much I want to beat you?!"
"That's impossible, you're always number two." Jericho chuckled and ran off.
At the same time, in the Astronomy Tower, the tallest building at Hogwarts.
Moriarty looked down and took in the whole scene on the field.
"A picture of tranquility and peace—that's the essence of Hogwarts. Don't you think so, Headmaster?"
Standing beside him was Dumbledore.
