Chapter 417 Infiltrating the Magic Union
Chapter 417 Infiltrating the Magic Union
Jericho and his six companions drank the compound decoction and quickly became KGB agents.
Lilith was now the only female agent. She puffed out her chest and muttered to herself, "They're quite high..."
Jericho retorted, "Young lady, instead of worrying about your health, why don't you think about improving the taste of the compound decoction!"
In the Harry Potter world, there are no spells like the Transformation Charm or the Shapeshifting Charm; wizards can only transform using potions like Polyjuice Potion.
Lilith is thoughtful and always carries some useful potions with her when she goes out. The Polyjuice Potion she is currently using was provided by her.
Only Moriarty, without relying on the compound decoction, became fat and patted his round belly.
Moriarty laughed and said, "If Professor Snape had heard what Jericho just said, he would have made Jericho brew Polyjuice Potion a hundred times."
Jericho stuck out his tongue. "Okay, I forgot the taste of the compound decoction can't be changed."
He gagged a few times, "I really don't want to drink this stuff anymore! Sir, could you improve this potion and make it taste like butterbeer?"
Jericho spoke with great enthusiasm, imagining what it would feel like.
"Smack!" Maxie slapped Jericho on the back. "You really know how to think things through! Aren't you just causing trouble for the master? How about I order you a custom-made chocolate-filled liqueur?"
Moriarty didn't mind. He thought for a moment and said, "When I have time, I'll invent a transformation spell so I'll never have to drink that awful compound potion again."
If someone else were to make inventing a spell sound so easy, no one would believe them. But since the wizard who said this was Moriarty, then there's no problem.
Lilith changed the subject, glancing at Moriarty's belly and chuckling, "What's it like to be fat?"
"It's not bad that I won't constantly attract the attention of beautiful women." Moriarty walked towards Marcus with her pregnant belly.
"Tch, so vain." Lilith followed after her.
Marcus handed the suitcase to Moriarty, which was filled with rare and magical creatures.
Moriarty waved the suitcase and said to everyone, "Take this to the internal affairs office and say it was found at the airport..."
The KGB agent standing nearby already knew Moriarty's plan.
They were terrified; their Ministry of Magic was about to be invaded!
After giving his orders, Moriarty prepared to leave, but Soldaya approached the agent. "Sir, they'll be discovered if they stay here—let me kill them?"
Soldaya had a very accurate understanding of his own position; he came to the Soviet Union to prove his loyalty to Moriarty.
Others didn't want to get their hands dirty, so they decided to do the dirty work themselves!
Soldaya pointed his wand at the agents, waiting for Moriarty's order.
"stop."
Unexpectedly, Moriarty stopped Soldaya's actions.
Soldaya looked up at Moriarty, puzzled.
"I brought you out here not so you could splash dirty water on yourself," Moriarty warned.
Soldaya felt slightly relieved. Although he didn't rule out using death to solve problems, he still couldn't bring himself to kill people, especially Muggles who were completely unrelated to him.
Moriarty could certainly see this; Soldaya was both ambitious and kind-hearted, and it would be unwise to make him kill.
As Soldaya lowered his head, he heard Moriarty say very casually, "Killing someone to cover it up is not the way Slytherin does things."
"Hehehe~"
"Ha ha!"
Lilith, Jericho, and the others burst into laughter, their eyes gleaming with an unusual light. Yes, they were Slytherins, not a bunch of bandits.
"But... Soldaya's words also make sense. If we leave them here unattended, they'll be discovered soon, and we'll be exposed too." Lilith looked at Moriarty. "How do we solve this?"
Unexpectedly, Moriarty rolled his eyes: "Merlin's brain! We're wizards!"
As he spoke, he gently waved his hand at the agent, and a magical aura emanated from him: "Forget everything!"
The agents frowned and fell into a coma.
"Alright, they'll forget about us once they wake up. Let's go."
Moriarty was the first to walk towards the alley entrance.
"Forget Everything" is a really good spell, a perfect replacement for the Soul Reaper's Curse.
Moriarty decided to promote the Forgetfulness Charm in Slytherin from now on.
Thirty-six minutes later, Moriarty and his party of seven arrived at Rugrugiev Street... next to Kyrgiev Street.
The Soviet Union's Department of Magic was located on Kyrgyzstan Street.
As they walked, Leon complained, "How embarrassing—when we go to the Ministry of Magic, we Apparate to the main hall, while only the ordinary officials walk into the Ministry of Magic in an orderly fashion."
“Leon, you can’t say that,” Moriarty understood Leon’s feelings perfectly. “You have to understand our current identities. KGB agents are agents after all; they don’t know magic. Oh, and I must remind you, don’t play with your pistols. That naive look will arouse the suspicion of Soviet wizards.”
The Blanche brothers quickly put the pistol back in its holster; they always had a curious and adventurous attitude towards all new things.
They walked into the main street, where small factories and shops were located.
The vodka distillery there served as the entrance to the Soviet Union's Magic Union.
Moriarty and his seven companions walked down the street, their wands clutched tightly in their hands tucked into their coats. Infiltrating a country's Ministry of Magic was a major undertaking.
A short while later, they entered the distillery. There was a black dog in the yard that wagged its tail when it saw them come in.
Marcus, who loves animals, took a few more glances.
Following the fat man's memory, Moriarty crossed the factory yard and arrived at a warehouse where vodka was stored.
There's no one guarding this place; it's full of wine barrels.
"Find a big red wine barrel."
The seven people split up to search, and Jericho eventually found them.
"It's like a little house, so conspicuous, doesn't it worry about Muggles not noticing?" Jericho's eyes were full of disdain.
They met in front of the red barrel. Moriarty said, "According to the agent's memory, opening the barrel will bring an elevator to the internal affairs office. Keep quiet."
Everyone nodded, but Lilith's eyes flashed with a thoughtful look, and she didn't say anything.
Moriarty pulled out the cork from the barrel, and with a click, a small door popped open on the barrel's exterior.
The group looked at each other, bent down, and crawled inside.
Once inside, we discovered that behind the wine barrel was actually an elevator, large enough to accommodate 10 people.
The elevator suddenly started shaking, and they slowly sank into the ground.
Finally, darkness enveloped them, and they could see nothing but the monotonous, grating sound of the elevator sinking into the ground.
Lilith whispered in Moriarty's ear, "The Soviet Union's Magical Union is underground?"
"Don't make any rash moves." Moriarty's words tickled Lilith's hair.
After about a minute, the elevator stabilized, and a thin white light appeared on the elevator floor.
"Splash!"
The elevator doors suddenly opened, and Moriarty stepped out, followed by the others.
They stood at one end of a dark passageway.
The ground was covered with black wooden planks, polished to a high shine, from which they could see their own reflections.
The deep blue ceiling of the ocean is inlaid with glittering black symbols that are constantly moving and changing, like a giant high-altitude bulletin board.
These symbols seemed vaguely familiar to Moriarty.
I remember now, it's the divine symbol from the Blood Feast!
Moriarty blinked. Why would a divine symbol appear in the Internal Affairs Office?
The others were also looking around. There were many rooms on both sides of the passage, but the doors were locked, and there was no sign of anyone living there from the outside.
At the end of the passage was a large hall with two golden doors that looked like the gates of heaven.
Lilith, born into a wealthy family, looked at the door and whispered, "Pure gold."
They were all somewhat surprised, as it was rare for a country's Ministry of Magic to be decorated so lavishly.
From this passageway, it doesn't look like the Ministry of Magic; it looks more like the villa of a pure-blood nobleman.
Of course, those dark rooms can be ruled out.
Moriarty provided the answer: "This isn't the main hall of the Soviet Union's Magic Union Ministry, it's the Internal Affairs Office!"
"What?"
"Of course, it's not wrong to say it's the Soviet Union's Department of Magical Union—the Internal Affairs Office belongs to the Department of Magical Union, so when we go to the Internal Affairs Office, we naturally go to the Department of Magical Union."
"But to get to the main hall of the Magic Union Department, I'll probably have to go through the Internal Affairs Office."
After hearing Moriarty's explanation, everyone finally understood.
Lilith suddenly said, "I understand now. The winery we went to earlier wasn't the route to the Department of Magic, but rather the special line to the Internal Affairs Office! There's another way to get to the main hall."
"Indeed," Moriarty nodded slowly. "This internal affairs office is extraordinary; it's so special that the Department of Magical Union has created a dedicated line for it."
"Could the Internal Affairs Office be the same as the Auror Office?" Jericho hoped to draw a parallel between the Soviet Union's Department of Magic and the British Department of Magic.
Leon answered this question with unequivocal certainty: "No. The Soviet Union has Aurors, and a large number of them. This has been emphasized more than once in ministry meetings."
"Therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is not the Auror's office, and the wizards inside are not Aurors. We cannot apply our preconceived notions about the Ministry of Magic here."
Moriarty's summary energized everyone.
"Stay alert, let's go inside."
