The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 314 Notes and Usage Rights

Chapter 314 Notes and Usage Rights

While Moriarty was having lunch, he received news that Duveen had skipped class.

The class that Duweyne missed was Professor Snape's Potions class!

According to the first-year students, halfway through class, Professor Snape stormed into Duveen's single bedroom in a rage and found Duveen fast asleep in a coffin, cuddling a cat!

"What?"

"Duwayne dares to skip Potions class at the Church of Strange?"

Jericho's face showed exaggerated surprise as he pulled over a first-year student named Xiaohu, saying, "This little vampire is something else! This must be included in 'Hogwarts: A History'! Duwayne has broken the record for truancy!"

"Don't gloat," Moriarty shoved Jericho. "Vampires are nocturnal and can't get up during the day. Duwayne sleeps in a single bedroom, and no one wakes him up, so it's normal for him to oversleep."

"I'd rather know the result than the reason."

Lilith elegantly forked a piece of grape pudding, glanced indifferently at the first-year student, and asked, "Has the headmaster imposed any punishment?"

Upon being glanced at by the outstanding senior in the third year, the little snake suddenly felt hot all over, and its heart skipped a beat. Overjoyed, it blurted out all the information.

"Not yet. After class, the Dean took Duveen to his office and had several Gryffindors invite Professor Dumbledore."

"It seems the punishment won't be light," Jericho shook his head slightly, then adopted a more somber tone: "Duwayne is highly talented and strong, but unfortunately he's a vampire, destined not to be our ally."

The first-year student looked at Jericho with confusion. This senior, who was sometimes mischievous and sometimes serious, made it hard for him to tell which one was the real Jericho.

"How do you know he won't become one of our companions? Who knows what the future holds?" Lilith swallowed the last bite of pudding, wiped her mouth, and said with amusement.

In her vision, overthrowing the secrecy law would require uniting all races. From the beginning, she did not regard the dark races as enemies, nor did she regard them as friends, but merely as objects that could be used.

"I can't be bothered with him," Jericho shrugged, giving up the argument, and turned to Moriarty with a smile, "Sir, you have no classes this afternoon, how about a match at the Quidditch pitch? You haven't played with us since you came back from Hyprose."

Upon hearing Jericho's suggestion, the surrounding snakes all turned to look at Moriarty, their eyes gleaming.

Moriarty's other identity is the captain of the British national team and a Quidditch World Cup champion!

The first-grade snake suddenly lost interest in the grilled fish sandwich in its mouth and looked at Moriarty expectantly.

Moriarty thought for a moment. He did have no classes in the afternoon, so playing some Quidditch wasn't a bad idea...

At this moment, Soldaya's voice slowly approached: "I'm afraid the master can't go play Quidditch with you, Senior Blanche."

Soldaya nodded respectfully to Moriarty and looked at Jericho with a smile.

"What do you mean?"

"It's nothing, I just wanted to tell you that the dean asked me to call you to the dean's office." Soldaya made a helpless gesture. Moriarty had been called away by Coach Soldier, so naturally he couldn't play ball.

"Now?" Moriarty frowned slightly.

"Yes," Soldaya answered honestly, "Professor Dumbledore was also there, apparently about Duwayne."

"Wow, really?" Jericho said with a long face. "Professor Snape and Professor Dumbledore can't handle that vampire? They have to call on the Master for help."

"What a pity, I'll have to do it next time."

Moriarty patted Jericho on the shoulder and got up to walk toward Professor Snape's office.

As the floating platform automatically flew to Moriarty's feet, Moriarty arrived at his office in no time.

The door wasn't locked, so Moriarty went inside.

As soon as I entered, I saw Duveen standing in front of the bookshelf with his head drooping. Princess Sophie, the white cat, was dozing off at Duveen's feet; Duveen was probably about to fall asleep too.

Professor Snape sat with a somber face, while Dumbledore remained calm, both seated in armchairs with velvet armrests.

Seeing Moriarty enter, Dumbledore stood up and said with a smile, "Ah, Moriarty's here. I should be going. As for Duwayne Vantor's punishment—Slytherin will decide."

Old Deng gave Moriarty a sly smile, then left without hesitation, also taking with him the chair with its velvet armrests gone.

Professor Snape's face darkened further, and a deep displeasure emanated from his nose with a snort: "Duwayne, for skipping class due to oversleeping, three months of detention! Moriarty, you're in charge."

"What?"

Moriarty objected: "Duwey added another three months of confinement, making it nine months in total!"

As arranged by the professor, all my free time in the third year was spent supervising Duwey's solitary confinement?

When Professor Dumbledore admitted Duwayne, it was agreed that the school would be responsible for Duwayne's discipline!

Now all sorts of situations have arisen, and they've all been pushed onto me. Professor, do you think I'll agree to this?

Moriarty also conjured up a chair with velvet armrests for himself, and sat down to argue for his extracurricular life.

Behind him, Duveen heard that Moriarty was unwilling to supervise him, and he immediately became wide awake, secretly turning his head to see what was happening.

Professor Snape's lips twitched. He had initially opposed Dumbledore's admission, but Dumbledore insisted on bringing him in!

Now that Duwayne has caused trouble, Dumbledore has irresponsibly run away! He even said something like, "I believe that I and Moriarty will handle it well!"

That's nonsense like "I believe Duveen's life in Slytherin will change."

If Professor Snape hadn't been unable to defeat Dumbledore and insisted on having the Sorting Hat sort Duwayne into Gryffindor, giving Professor McGonagall a headache...

As for teaching Duwayne a lesson, Snape had considered it.

However, based on Duwayne's performance in the battle against the Hidden Chieftain, Snape knew that if he fought Duwayne, there was a very high probability that Duwayne would destroy his office.

The office being destroyed isn't a big deal; magic can restore it. What's truly important is losing face in front of the young wizards.

Snape wasn't going to get humiliated by Duwayne—just moments ago, Duwayne had wanted Snape to wash his hair.

So he had no choice but to ask Moriarty for help. Seeing Moriarty's calm and unhurried demeanor, Snape had an idea.

"During your confinement in Gwanduwayne, you may use this office and the storage room next door at will."

Moriarty thought for a moment, which meant that he could use the potion-making ingredients in the storage room to brew potions at will.

The storeroom might be tempting to others; in the original books, Hermione, Barty Crouch Jr., and Dobby the house-elf all stole potion ingredients from it.

But for Moriarty, who inherited Slytherin Castle, the potion ingredients in the storeroom were nothing special; Moriarty possessed many rare materials that even Snape didn't have.

The fact that he could use the office at will was somewhat tempting to Moriarty, as he was looking for a place to brew potions. In the past, he had always brewed potions in Myrtle's washroom, which was very inconvenient.

With the church's office, making potions became much easier.

But these alone were not enough to convince Moriarty to agree.

Professor Snape saw through it and said in a deep voice, "Add my Potions Notebook, and you know what a treasure that is."

It contains many of the latest potion-making methods and my own improvements; Horace couldn't possibly give you better notes.

Moriarty's lips curled into a smile. The Potions Master's notes! This offer was incredibly tempting.

This notebook is not the "Half-Blood Prince's" notebook that Harry Potter found in the original books, but rather Snape's notebook after he grew up.

With this notebook, you can brew all the potions Snape knows in any office you use!

The time spent in confinement wasn't too lonely.

Moriarty had such talent, and Snape knew that Moriarty could produce the finished product after watching the process just once, which is why he took out his treasured notes.

"Then, it's a deal! My professor." Moriarty smiled slightly, turned to look at Duveen, "I think Duveen will learn how to live and learn through constant punishment."

Duwein glared fiercely at Moriarty.

Professor Snape chuckled coldly. Moriarty's words were not unrelated to Dumbledore's; they were exactly the same.

"Filch specially sent this quill pen; it's incredibly effective at disciplining disobedient students."

Professor Snape took a long, thin black quill pen with a particularly sharp nib from his drawer and handed it to Moriarty; it looked quite old.

"Duwayne," Snape growled, "take this and write 'I will not skip class!' Keep writing it until it's etched into your mind!"

The cold glint in Snape's eyes showed that he quite disliked this vampire. Moriarty looked over at Duveen, who slowly walked over with an indifferent expression on his face.

Duwey isn't afraid of Snape at all: If I hadn't made a promise with Dumbledore before entering the school, I would have eaten you, you old bat, long ago!

Stranger saw the meaning in Duveen's eyes, and his face grew even colder. Duveen pretended not to see it, snatched the quill from Moriarty's hand, and, not caring that there was no ink, randomly picked up a quill from the table and began to write.

In Duwein's eyes, it's all just formalism anyway, so he doesn't care whether there's any ink or not.

"Then Moriarty is yours."

After finishing speaking without moving his lips, Si Jiao quickly walked out.

Seeing Duveen obediently writing his punishment, Moriarty was about to go to the bookshelf to get a magic book when he suddenly heard Duveen let out a soul-stirring moan!

Moriarty turned around abruptly and stared at Duveen in shock; that voice just now didn't sound like it came from a boy.

"Ah~"

Another sound.

Duwein lowered his head and slumped his upper body onto the table.

What happened?

Moriarty frowned and walked toward Duveen.
