Chapter 303: Little Vancho was locked in a coffin.
"You rude vampire, the way you're banging on the door looks just like you're announcing the death of your parents!"
The older snake, while spraying vicious venom to smear Duveen, spoke in a tone reminiscent of the purebloods' mockery of half-bloods and Muggles before Moriarty appeared.
They glared fiercely at Duwein, hoping to see anger on his face, but there was none. The little snakes' plan had failed.
Du Weien said calmly, "For 11 years, I have tried to wake my parents up countless times, but I have failed each time. When I patted my parents' coffins, they not only did not wake up, but they also kicked me out."
A thought flashed through the little snake's mind: What kind of parents are these!
Moriarty understood the underlying meaning: Duveen's relationship with his parents was not good.
Only Jericho had an unusual way of thinking, telling Duwayne, "The fact that your parents didn't kill you because of your knocking means you're their biological child."
"Foolish wizard," Duwen scoffed. "This is how vampires usually awaken their sleeping companions. Whispering won't work on companions who have been asleep for hundreds of years."
"We don't care about your vampire sleep and awakening methods!"
The little snakes said angrily, but Duweyne's voice was louder than theirs!
"That's enough!"
"You annoying sparrows, chirping incessantly ever since I walked in! Feifei, you're right, idiots are always so irritating!"
Princess Sophie meowed, slipped to the door, and put on a human-like expression, as if to say, "You're all doomed!"
A strange feeling flashed through everyone's minds, but Moriarty was right behind them.
Even Dracula, the progenitor of vampires, was killed by Moriarty. What reason do they have to fear a Duveen?
The crowd crossed their arms and adopted a mocking expression, as if admiring a peacock about to spread its tail feathers.
Duwein sensed the disdain, his gaze turning cold and his eyes slowly turning gold, with a blood-red phantom looming behind him.
The phantom was like an enlarged version of Duwene, wearing the same black cloak, and was two or three meters tall, but its aura was incomparable to Duwene's.
The vampires possessed their own magic, and the phantom emitted terrifying magical fluctuations that were felt by all the young wizards on the train.
A chilling atmosphere permeated the boardroom, damp and deathly still, making everyone feel suffocated.
The anomaly lasted only two seconds before Moriarty drew his cedarwood wand and turned the teacup on the table into a coffin.
The coffin was printed with blue patterns, and there was a snake in the middle.
With a "bang," the coffin flew towards Duweyne.
"Since vampires are so noble, don't force yourself to become a wizard. Go back to your coffin and sleep."
As soon as Moriarty finished speaking, the coffin, carrying immense magical energy, automatically opened its lid, like a prehistoric beast opening its mouth to swallow the phantom.
The coffin landed on the ground with a thud, and a huge suction force came from inside, pulling Duwene and Princess Sophie into the coffin.
Needless to say, this was another of Moriarty's methods. With a "bang," the coffin closed, and no matter how much Duwayne struggled inside, he couldn't open it.
"Marcus?" Moriarty called out to his henchman.
"Yes, sir."
"Send someone to explain the magical fluctuations to the students. Tell them that Charlie is experimenting with a new spell again."
Without hesitation, Moriarty made Charlie take the blame.
"Yes, sir." Marcus nodded and left the private room.
Charlie looked utterly dejected: "Why me?"
"What do you think? You always hold back in duels, but on the battlefield you throw out all your new magic like it's free." Tonks seemed a little resentful about Charlie's tendency to conceal his true abilities.
"Please, didn't you already learn that Gryffindor Sun Spell?!"
"Who knows what new magic you've been hiding!" Tonks said, resting his chin on his hand, a hint of fighting spirit flashing in his eyes. They were evenly matched among the students in the same grade and had always been rivals.
Charlie laughed heartily, "No new curse, but George, Fred, and I came up with a lot of pranks over the summer. Want to try them out?"
"I bet Charlie wouldn't dare do that," George blurted out.
"Oh? Why?" Fred asked.
"Because Mr. Moriarty will teach Charlie a lesson before the prank works," George laughed heartlessly.
"Look at what you're saying! I can't believe you're my brother!" Charlie reached out and grabbed George's collar.
Unexpectedly, Fred joined in, laughing, "Maybe the master will throw you in a coffin to keep company with little vampires!"
When the topic of vampires came up, everyone gathered around the coffin.
"Duwayne..." Lilith's tone was intriguing, "Why did she suddenly go silent?"
"Let me see." Moriarty cast a spell on the coffin, so that he could see the scene inside as long as he closed his eyes.
A few seconds later, Moriarty raised an eyebrow and said, "He's asleep."
The group exchanged glances and laughed: "They really are vampires."
"He's still just a child, isn't he a little pitiful?"
Moriarty saw a maternal glow on Tonks' pretty face and knew what Tonks was thinking.
He simply put his arm around Tonks and walked to the sofa, ignoring the matter.
A seventh-grade snake grinned mischievously, then slammed its hand on the coffin repeatedly. "Let you taste what it's like to have noise in your ears! You filthy, rude little monster!"
The other snakes were itching to move, but Moriarty snorted and said, "Sit back down. Since you mocked Vandro for being rude, don't act like him."
Everyone obediently returned to their seats, while Lilith pondered the question, "Moriarty, have you considered Ventra's personality?"
"What are you trying to say?"
"It's obvious that Vantor hasn't received any education, since he can't even knock on a door properly," Lilith pointed out.
Moriarty remained noncommittal.
According to Count Quinlan's memories, the Vanjo vampires were known for their elegance.
A family tradition spanning thousands of years could not possibly produce an heir who doesn't even know how to knock on a door.
Yes, Duveen Vandro is only 11 years old and may not have received training from the Vandro vampire clan.
Recalling Duveen's words about his parents, it seems that this vampire family wasn't so harmonious after all.
"So, Duveen Vandro is a blank slate?"
Moriarty's eyes lit up. Didn't that mean he could color and smear on a blank sheet of paper at will?
During Duwayne's years at Hogwarts, I might brainwash him into creating a decent puppet.
For the rest of the time, Moriarty began to think about the brainwashing plan. Soon the train arrived at the station, and Hagrid's voice came into the carriage.
"First-year students! First-year students, come this way!"
The new students started getting off the bus, and Cedric pointed to the coffin and said, "What about this guy?" He's completely healed now.
"Simple, hand it over to Hagrid along with the coffin." Moriarty snapped his fingers, and the coffin floated away.
Everyone shrugged; Hagrid must be completely baffled.
The new students disembarked quickly this year, and the returning students waited patiently for Moriarty and his entourage to get off the bus before the other students disembarked.
The carriage was ready, and the senior students went over.
The rickshaw was still pulled by Yeqi. We could see them last year after the Hogwarts purebloods returned from Paris. Marcus even patted one of Yeqi's heads.
The boys and girls separated and sat in the carriages. Moriarty, Jericho, and Marcus were in the first carriage.
There was a faint smell of mustiness and straw inside the carriage.
Marcus, as if he had opened a floodgate, began to tell Moriarty the story of Yeqi.
"...The first Nightbringer in the Forbidden Forest is named U-U, Hagrid told me. He likes U-U the most..."
Marcus was completely unaware that Hagrid was holding the coffin and wondering what was going on.
Who gave me this gift?
That kid Marcus?
Or is it Mr. Moriarty?
But why are they sending coffins?
I see!
It must be those two Weasley troublemakers!
So this is probably another prank.
"Phew~"
A gust of wind blew by, and Hagrid, clutching the coffin, examined it from all angles, his face changing eight different expressions in 30 seconds.
Zhang Qiu remembered everything Haige said. She didn't understand why this tall guy was standing still, while they, as freshmen, could only stand still as well.
"Sir?" Zhang Qiu didn't want to stand with Hagrid on the platform; it was evening, and the wind was chilly. She asked, "What should we do next?"
"Oh right, you reminded me," Hagrid said hastily. "Come, follow me, and watch your step."
A large group of freshmen marched toward the Black Lake, where they would board a boat to enter Hogwarts, with Hagrid leading the way.
Hagrid forgot about the coffin in his arms; he figured he'd find out what was inside once the sorting was over.
