Chapter 298 Intelligence Dumbledore Received from an Old Friend

"Snapped!"

Dumbledore Apparated into a tower. Moriarty looked at the walls around him and felt they were very familiar. He looked out the window.

The vast Quidditch pitch came into view.

Sure enough, this is the highest tower in Hogwarts, from which you can easily see the Black Lake and the Forbidden Forest in the distance.

Moriarty noticed Hagrid's feeding of hippogriffs.

Speaking of which, the Poker Family even had its own mounts. Marcus usually fed them, but after the holidays, kind-hearted Hagrid took over Marcus's job.

Knowing that this was Hogwarts, Moriarty looked at Dumbledore with some confusion.

Dumbledore gestured for Moriarty to lower his head.

Moriarty looked down and saw a large book with a black dragon skin cover, made of parchment!

A quill pen was placed next to the large book.

As the head of House Slytherin, Moriarty certainly knew their names.

"The Book of Admission"

"The Pen of Acceptance".

Dumbledore nodded and said, "That's right. Open the Book of Admission again. Turn to the latest page."

Moriarty rolled his eyes. "How long am I supposed to keep reading this thick book?"

The Book of Admission was very thick, reaching as high as Moriarty's knees when placed on the ground.

However, Moriarty wasn't without options. He recalled the Slytherin family's magic and found a spell that could turn the Book of Admission to the most recent page.

"brush!"

Moriarty extended his right hand and pressed the two fingers on the dragon-skin cover of the Book of Admission.

"The greatest of the four giants! Hiss~"

Moriarty recited a Parseltongue spell, which translates to "Show me."

A burst of green light surged on the cover, and the Book of Admission automatically flipped through the pages with a "whoosh," quickly turning to the latest page.

"Quite a convenient and practical little spell," Dumbledore said with a smile after witnessing the whole thing. "The magic of the four great masters is indeed amazing. Professor McGonagall comes to check this book every year and sends acceptance letters to children who are 11 years old or older. Every year she complains to me that the magic turns the pages too slowly."

Dumbledore's purpose in saying these things was perhaps to get Moriarty to share the magic of "Show Me".

But Moriarty focused all his attention on the book, and the latest page had only one name on it.

Violet Ventura

Moriarty, unable to hide his surprise, looked at Dumbledore: "What's going on? The newspaper says that Ventra's name is Duwayne Ventra!"

"Congratulations on discovering the suspicious point."

Dumbledore smiled and said that it seemed nothing, no matter how strange, could shake his heart.

"Moriarty, you must know that there is no problem with the Pen of Acceptance and the Book of Admission."

"Of course, this is the culmination of the magic and wisdom of the four giants." Moriarty nodded. If he hadn't met Salazar, he might have had some doubts about the strength of the four giants.

However, after meeting and talking with Salazar, Moriarty became convinced of the power of the Big Four, who were absolutely the pinnacle of magic in the Harry Potter world.

The four wizards who could have become gods chose not to. Just think about how strong their confidence must have been to support them in making such a choice.

The magical items left behind by the four giants would naturally be flawless.

"The problem lies with Vandro."

Moriarty and Dumbledore exchanged a glance, confirming their thoughts.

"Whether this Ventra is Duveen or Violet, he has been written down by the Pen of Acceptance and recorded in the Book of Admission..."

"Dumbledore said in a deep voice, a resolute glint in his eyes."

He was the headmaster of Hogwarts, fulfilling his duties as headmaster day after day for decades without ever neglecting them.

"Meets the requirements to become a new student at Hogwarts!"

Moriarty seemed to know what Old Deng was about to say, and chimed in.

Dumbledore smiled and nodded again. "I'm glad you share my view. With your support, the Ministry of Magic and British wizards won't bother me anymore."

"Hey, don't try to shift the blame onto me," Moriarty said, displeased.

The danger posed by Ventral is undeniable, and the concerns of the Ministry of Magic and British wizards are justified.

Dumbledore smiled and said, "With you and me in the castle, whatever Ventura does will be in vain, and his every move will be under our surveillance."

"Finally, you're telling the truth," Moriarty clicked his tongue twice. "You recruited him here just to spy on him, didn't you? You had ulterior motives, didn't you? You thought the same thing when I enrolled, didn't you?"

Dumbledore's eye twitched. He removed his half-moon spectacles, stared at Moriarty for a moment, and slowly said, "I have been wary of you, but I have never been spying on you."

He spoke very seriously.

Moriarty deduced that Dumbledore was not lying.

Dumbledore put his glasses back on, and seemed to radiate an aura of renewal.

"Do you remember the attack on Hyprose?" Dumbledore's tone changed, becoming low and somber.

"Seven vampires, along with saints, bombed Hyprose into ruins."

Moriarty knew that the vampire was Ventura, but he didn't say so to see Dumbledore's reaction.

It's possible that Dumbledore already knows.

Sure enough, Dumbledore quickly said, "The seven vampires are the Ventral vampires. They are more powerful than ordinary vampires, they are not afraid of sunlight, silver swords cannot kill them, and garlic will only arouse their disgust."

"It seems you already knew this, just as I thought." Dumbledore noticed Moriarty's calm expression.

"Then I'll tell you something you don't know."

Dumbledore took a deep breath, a hint of reminiscence flashing in his eyes.

In order to find out the connection between the saints and the vampires, he mustered up the courage to go to Nurmengard and question his old friend.

"The one who hired the Saints to attack Hyprose was none other than Duwen Vantor! It had nothing to do with the Saints or even Grindelwald."

As he recounted the story, Dumbledore couldn't help but recall the tone of his questioning old friend. He must have hurt him. It was such an obvious thing; how could his usually brilliant mind have failed to think of the real person behind it all?

Dumbledore felt a pang of guilt, but outwardly remained calm and continued recounting the valuable information his old friend had given him.

"This Duveen is the sole bloodline of Prince Rosselo Ventral, leader of the Camarilla, and his wife Bertha Ventral. He is a vampire prince..."

Moriarty raised an eyebrow, indicating his skepticism.

"Are you sure it's a prince? Violet is a female name, and I think that's true for the long-lived species among the dark creatures as well."

Dumbledore shared this doubt, but he chose to believe his old friend, saying, "Whether he's a little princess or a little prince, once he enters Hogwarts, he'll eventually be exposed."

Moriarty nodded.

That's true.

No one in this world can cause trouble under the watchful eyes of Moriarty and Dumbledore.

From this perspective, there are only advantages and no disadvantages to Vancho's enrollment.

Seeing that Moriarty seemed somewhat persuaded, Dumbledore continued, "I also have top-secret information: Duwayne is hostile to Gilderoy Lockhart!"

Dumbledore's gaze fell on Moriarty's face, a hint of inquiry flashing in his eyes. He wanted to see Moriarty's reaction to Lockhart's words.

Although Moriarty didn't know why Duwayne was hostile to Lockhart, he knew that Dumbledore suspected his relationship with Lockhart.

He immediately showed a confused expression.

"Gidero Lockhart? Haven't seen him in a while, this...great writer? Where has he gone again?"

Moriarty speculated, "Could it be that Gilderoy Lockhart's plan to publish a new book by Ventura offended Duveen?"

There was nothing unusual about his behavior.

Dumbledore put aside his suspicions and said frankly, "Just as you guessed, the reason Duwayne is hostile to Lockhart really is a book, the one from last year, 'With Vampires at the Eiffel Tower'."

Recalling the intelligence his old friend had gathered, Dumbledore was both amused and exasperated.

"Duwayne believes that the book is all Lockhart's nonsense. He thinks Lockhart insulted vampires. As a vampire leader who is higher than vampires, he naturally has to protect the image of vampires, so he hates Lockhart."

"Um, I see."

Moriarty touched his nose.

In this sense, Lockhart ended up taking the blame for himself.

He then smiled.

"Does Duveen not know that Mr. Lockhart is the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

"I don't know. This information is top secret. No other wizard knows about it except for you, me, and Lockhart."

After Dumbledore finished speaking, he understood the deeper meaning behind Moriarty's smile.

"I think it's no problem for Lockhart to teach him a lesson," Moriarty said with a sinister smile.

Dumbledore pretended not to hear. Although he supported teaching Duwayne a lesson for making his old friend take the blame, he was the headmaster.

"So you're saying you agree to Vandro's admission?"

"I agree," Moriarty readily admitted, "but I have a few conditions."

"First, you must be able to quell any doubts from the outside world. Second, Duweyne cannot drink human blood. Third, if you have any actions against Duweyne, Ventura, or the vampires—any such actions—you must inform me in advance. Conversely, I will do the same if you do not."

Thirdly, Moriarty spoke with particular seriousness.
