The next morning, Moriarty and his party went to the restaurant on the 20th floor of the hotel for breakfast.
A mixed salad, a fruit sandwich, and a cup of espresso make for a simple and nutritionally balanced breakfast.
Moriarty specifically ordered two small bowls of tempura, but he was the only one who ate them; Simon and the others said they couldn't swallow the pasty dishes.
Lilith, who always loved oily and greasy food, waved her hand and gave Moriarty a sullen look.
"That's too greasy. You want to turn me into a chubby little boy so that my classmates will laugh at me when school starts, right?"
"If you can become a little chubby in seven days, I'll allow you to think that way." Moriarty smugly scooped up a spoonful of Tokyo's famous snack, enjoying it immensely.
Knowing she couldn't win the argument with Moriarty, Lilith changed the subject, saying, "Speaking of which, last night I was reflecting on the situation in the Japanese magical world and discovered some things that might interest you."
Moriarty looked at her, and Lilith swallowed a piece of mango and cleared her throat.
"First of all, it can be confirmed that most wizards in the Japanese magic world use a kind of spirit called 'shikigami' as a means of attack or defense."
This is their magic, and also the entire magic system of the Japanese magical world.
Lilith gave Simon a special look, knowing that the Tokugawa patriarch who had invited Simon possessed a shikigami.
"It is worth mentioning that Japanese wizards have an ambiguous attitude towards the Secret Law. They don't pay much attention to keeping secrets from Muggles, but they will occasionally perform a few spells."
Unaware Muggles can only attribute magic to supernatural events.
This is also why Japan has so many urban legends and rural ghost stories.
Lilith looked at the Slit-Mouthed Woman again. The Slit-Mouthed Woman had her head down. In order to eat, she had to carefully stand up to avoid showing her 26 teeth.
"Wizards have also left a strong mark on the history of Japan. For example, Muggles prefer to call them 'Onmyoji' rather than 'wizards'."
It's fair to say that most of the wizards in the Japanese Ministry of Magic are Onmyoji, meaning they use shikigami (spirits/spirits) as magic.
At this point, Lilith looked at Moriarty: "The magic used by the red-robed wizard is clearly not shikigami, that's where their disagreement lies!"
Perhaps the red-robed wizards believed that the Japanese Ministry of Magic needed a major overhaul.
I think they even want to revolutionize the Japanese magic world and seal the shikigami (spirits) into history!
Lilith's eyes lit up with excitement, and her face lit up with joy as she chattered on and on to Moriarty.
"This is not just a political event, but a transition between old and new magic!"
Japanese sorcerers rely too heavily on shikigami (spirits) and their magical methods are limited, yet shikigami are essentially spirits.
If I had to categorize it, the magic in the Japanese magical world belongs to necromancy, which is just a small stream in the vast ocean of magic!
The path of Japanese wizards has narrowed, and their magic tree has gone astray. The Japanese magical world should usher in a brand new era of magic!
I admit that I initially thought too simply; the struggle for power and profit seemed insignificant in the face of the vast and magnificent magical era.
Just you wait, Moriarty. I bet you, in less than five years, the magical world of Japan will be completely transformed!
If I were a member of the Red Wizards, this timeframe might be shortened to two to three years.
This demonstrates the keen insight of a future outstanding female politician.
Lilith winked at Moriarty, her emerald green pupils reflecting her inner mischief and ambition.
In contrast to her excitement, Moriarty nodded calmly and spoke in a low voice.
"You seem to have grown up overnight, and your thinking has matured a lot."
Hearing Moriarty's praise, Lilith beamed with delight. "You've gotten bigger, haven't you?" She puffed out her chest and looked at Moriarty with a smile.
"I mean you can finally think like an adult wizard," Moriarty said irritably.
"But, to be honest, I don't want the magical world in Japan to change. It's better if it's like a stagnant pool, without any waves or ripples."
Moriarty's lips did not move, his voice deepened, and his eyes became unfathomable.
In any country, heroes emerge in times of chaos. Change, civil strife, and war—all highly dangerous events—will give rise to one or two trendsetters of the era.
Moriarty aspires to be the mastermind behind the scenes, so naturally he wants as few rivals as possible.
The matter of the Japanese BOSS has not yet been fully investigated, and now the Japanese magic world is undergoing changes—although there has been no drastic change, a hint of it has already emerged.
Moriarty felt that the waters of Japan were becoming increasingly murky.
After breakfast, everyone waited for Moriarty to decide on the next steps of the trip.
Moriarty thought for a moment and said, "Simon, do you remember the two bodyguards that the Tokugawa patriarch sent to accompany you?"
"Ah," Simon sighed with disgust, rubbing his shoulder blade, "I'll never forget them. Their strength was astonishing."
"I advise you to forget about them," Moriarty shook his head and smiled. "They might not be human."
"What?" Simon didn't react immediately, thinking Moriarty was referring to Muggles as "humans," and blurted out, "They're wizards too?"
Lilith laughed at Moriarty and said, "What Simon means is that you are not human."
"No, no, no, that's not what I meant." Simon waved his hands repeatedly, shaking his head as he explained, "I misspoke..."
Moriarty didn't seem to care and said, enunciating each word clearly, "The two bodyguards are neither Muggles nor wizards; they are not human, but shikigami (spirits/spirits)."
"A shikigami?" Lilith exclaimed in surprise, asking in bewilderment, "How can a shikigami remain for so long without dissipating?"
"So they left, their whereabouts unknown." Moriarty spread his hands, looking as if it were a matter of course.
Simon recalled for a moment and confirmed Moriarty's statement: "The bodyguards disappeared after we landed."
"Where could they have gone?" Lilith rested her chin on her hand, gazing out the window as if searching for the shikigami.
"Based on the fact that there is a shikigami in the Great Curtain Shikigami Token, I think that shikigami need a container. They cannot appear for a long time and must return to the container after a period of time."
Moriarty voiced his guess, then pulled Simon aside and whispered a few words to him.
"Will it work?" Simon looked at Moriarty with doubt, then at the street below.
"Go ahead and do it. The Tokugawa patriarch's orders to the bodyguards are to monitor you and protect you. They won't stand by and watch anything happen to you," Moriarty explained casually. To reassure Simon, he added, "Even if they don't show up, I won't let you get hit by a car."
Simon twitched his lips. "Okay, Wick, whatever you say, I'll give it a try. Wish me luck."
After saying that, he got up and left, his face stern.
Lilith and the others couldn't help but wonder, "Where is Simon going?"
Moriarty smirked: "Just wait and see."
One by one, the group climbed to the French windows and peered out curiously.
Simon walked out of the hotel, weaved through the bustling streets, and finally stood motionless in the middle of the road, while cars honked their horns and sped past him.
"It's too dangerous." Lilith bit her lip and raised her wand to prepare to save them.
"Don't worry, the bodyguards will be here soon," Moriarty said with a mysterious smile.
Sure enough, less than ten seconds later, two bodyguards appeared as if they had suddenly appeared on the roadside and ran towards Simon.
They sandwiched Simon between them and helped him walk across the road.
Seeing this, Lilith nodded knowingly: "The bodyguards appeared suddenly without warning. No wonder you said they were shikigami."
Moriarty replied, "There must be Tokugawa family property nearby, and the container is inside the house."
At that moment, Simon, accompanied by his bodyguards, walked up to the restaurant on the twentieth floor. He waved his arms and shouted, "Incredible, Wick! How did you know they would suddenly appear?"
Moriarty gave a brief explanation, then turned his gaze to the two bodyguards.
"Tell the Tokugawa patriarch that I need him to fulfill the second half of the contract and send us to the magic institute."
The two bodyguards exchanged a glance, and the one on the left nodded slightly. With a "bang," he vanished, leaving only a wisp of smoke where he had been standing.
"It's a bit like psychic magic." Moriarty chuckled. Japanese magic was indeed quite comical; sometimes it was nice to get to know it.
Three minutes later, the bodyguard standing on the right spoke, but the voice that came out was that of the head of the Tokugawa family.
"Wickson, are you having a good time in Japan?"
"Heh, all I did was go to the international airport to watch a duel between the red and black factions of wizards," Moriarty replied with a forced smile, his words carrying a hidden meaning.
The head of the Tokugawa family was taken aback. He hadn't expected that Moriarty, who had only been in Japan for two days, would already know about the conflict between the red-robed and black-robed wizards.
"Wick-san, did you go to the magic institute because of Gentani-kun?"
Genya is the goatee from the Red Wizards, and his identity is a professor at the Institute of Magic.
The Tokugawa patriarch's voice became serious.
"To be honest, I am not interested in the changes in your country's magical world, whether it is the red wizards represented by Yuan Gu or the black wizards represented by the Ministry of Magic. I am taking a wait-and-see attitude."
Moriarty spoke eloquently, but naturally he wouldn't tell the Tokugawa patriarch his true intentions. He would say things to reassure the patriarch and get away with it.
"As for the purpose? I simply want to understand the campus atmosphere of Asian magic schools - I have been to many countries and have visited most of the 11 most famous magic schools in the world."
"Having come to Japan this time and met the head of the Tokugawa family, of course I have to visit the magic shop."
Moriarty said casually, sounding relaxed and at ease.
However, the head of the Tokugawa family was not satisfied with just this answer and wanted to find out more information.
Moriarty frowned, his eyes hardening.
"Master Tokugawa, you talk too much."
All you need to do is fulfill our contract. You'd better not worry about anything else, or what happened on the cruise ship that day will be repeated in your own home.
"...Alright, Mr. Wick," the Tokugawa family head, though furious, immediately became obedient. "Please proceed to Haneda Airport; I have arranged a helicopter for you to fly to the volcanic island..."
After giving a brief overview of the itinerary, the Tokugawa patriarch's voice disappeared, and Moriarty led everyone to begin their journey.
On the way, a hint of curiosity appeared in Lilith's beautiful eyes, "Shikigami can also transmit messages? They're a bit like our guardian deities."
"Have you started practicing the Patronus Charm yet?" Moriarty asked casually.
"No." Lilith sighed silently; shapeshifting took up most of her free time.
"By the way, do you have something on that Tokugawa patriarch? I noticed that his momentum weakened the moment you raised your voice slightly."
Lilith pressed Moriarty with great interest, for she had always been fascinated by the art of controlling people with just a few words.
"Believe me, you won't be interested in his dirt. You can't imagine how filthy that old devil's heart is."
Moriarty wouldn't mind giving Lilith an example if the partner wasn't the head of the Tokugawa family, but not the head of the Tokugawa family.
Lilith, however, wrinkled her nose in defiance: "Once I learn Legilimency, I'll search his memories myself!"
Moriarty chuckled. "I hope that old devil Tokugawa is still alive that day."
"You mean I learned Legilimency a long time later?"
Amidst laughter and cheerful conversation, the group arrived at the airport, boarded the prepared helicopter, and flew to the volcanic island of Japan.
Simon's family and the Slit-Mouthed Woman are all ordinary people. Although they had never ridden in a helicopter before, they had at least seen one and knew the passenger rules.
Lilith, on the other hand, experienced motion sickness during her first encounter with a helicopter.
Fortunately, Japan is only so big, and the volcanic island is not far away. The helicopter flew for about twenty minutes before arriving over the volcanic island.
"What is that?"
Lilith's voice was a little hoarse as she pointed to the window and asked Moriarty.
Moriarty looked out the window and could vaguely see a giant black bird flying in the sky.
“Giant petrels,” Moriarty said softly. “The Magic Institute is a day school. The school uses these animals to transport students who are seven to eleven years old and do not live in the Magic Palace, so that the students can travel between school and home every day.”
"Ah..." Lilith sighed regretfully, "It can only pick up and drop off students who are seven years old but under eleven. I wanted to sit on Haiyan's back and feel the breeze, oh well, never mind."
"If you just want to sit on the back of the petrel, I can grant your wish."
Moriarty smiled slightly. As the head of the Tokugawa family and a director of the magic institute, it was not impossible for him to arrange for a few seagulls to be given away.
"Could it be that I can jump off from there?" Lilith's eyes gleamed, and her condition seemed to be improving.
On the other side, Ilan was also clamoring to ride the Seagull, while Simon cast a pleading look at Moriarty.
Moriarty had his bodyguards arrange for them to ride in two giant seagulls—one for Simon's family and the other for Moriarty, Lilith, and the Slit-Mouthed Woman.
The bodyguards did as instructed. No one knows what the Tokugawa patriarch did, but as soon as the plane landed, two giant seagulls flew up in front of Moriarty.
The extent of Moriarty's attentiveness greatly surprised Simon, who was familiar with the style of the Tokugawa patriarch. He wanted to ask Moriarty how he managed to do it.
Moriarty said that the Japanese have a natural tendency to bully the weak and fear the strong. The more assertive you are, the more the Japanese will respect you; the more submissive you are, the more the Japanese will take advantage of you.
This is ingrained in the Japanese; whether they are Muggles or wizards, they all behave the same way.
Lilith didn't care about any of that; she was now captivated by the giant petrel.
"Wow, the little petrel is so beautiful after it grows up." She touched the top of a petrel's head, a smile on her face.
These petrels were mostly black, with white tails and legs. Their eyes were bright black, staring intently at Moriarty before they lowered their heads and crawled on the ground.
Moriarty climbed up, and the others did the same. The two giant petrels slowly rose, flapped their large black wings, and flew into the sky.
The petrel flies slowly. The volcanic island has a series of active volcanoes, and hot winds blow through the air.
Lilith's nausea subsided, and she opened her arms, enjoying the pleasure brought by the hot air.
The seagull knew the route to the magic institute and carried them to its gate, where several students were jumping off its back.
As Moriarty and his companions looked at the magical palace inside the gate and dismounted from the petrel's back, an exaggerated English voice came from behind them.
"Merlin, it's simply unbelievable!"
I was just thinking that only the Master deserved such a palace, and then suddenly the Master appeared in front of me! And the Young Lady too!
Did you hear my heartfelt words, falling from the sky?
Guess who the last voice was?
