Chapter 27 Interesting Professors

The auditorium was filled with laughter and chatter as students talked enthusiastically about the Quidditch match. Lilith complained to Moriarty and Jericho that they had worried her.

"Judging from Professor Snape's expression this afternoon, I really thought he was going to expel you two!" She forked a piece of roasted pork chop and put it in her mouth.

At this moment, Keith walked up to Moriarty. In fact, Moriarty's levitation spell protected him well, and he was discharged from the school hospital after sleeping for a few hours.

Keith solemnly thanked Moriarty, and after exchanging a few words with him, he slowly returned to the Slytherin common room.

Moriarty noticed that Keith's companion, Larpo, made no comment; Larpo silently ate his chicken leg.

With Keith's arrival, the students shifted the topic to Keith's fall.

The snakes generally believed that Keith's fall was related to Percy. Lalpo said to those around him, "Weasley said those things! Just before Keith got on the broom, he said Keith was going to die, you know that!"

Percy heard this and his face turned ashen.

The lions naturally denied it vehemently, loudly mocking Keith as a talentless, show-offy fool.

Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw joined the discussion, and the hawks began their analysis, saying that there was something wrong with the speed at which Keith's broom was rising.

Keith has neither Moriarty's talent nor Jericho's skillful technique, so how could he possibly soar into the sky?

Even if it's a magical outburst, it will only make him fly into the sky, and it has nothing to do with the broom.

Moriarty shook his head. This was a debate destined to have no conclusion. After dinner, he returned to his dormitory. There were still some aspects of the concealment method for the flight spell that were not yet perfected.

The next morning, Moriarty intercepted Senior Tonks in the eighth-floor corridor. After explaining his purpose, Senior Tonks agreed to help Moriarty brew a brain-boosting potion.

"But, junior, my potions class grades are so-so. Aren't you worried I'll ruin your potions?" Tonks asked.

Moriarty smiled. "So I'll just have you do some preparatory work, like chopping up small tree roots or something."

Tonks didn't speak, but simply drew his wand, seemingly eager to fight Moriarty.

After leaving the Room of Requirement, Moriarty went to his Charms class.

The Charms teacher was Professor Flitwick, who always praised Moriarty and gave him extra points for Slytherin whenever Moriarty came up with a new idea for Charms theory.

Most importantly, Professor Flitwick had his own insights into some ancient magic, which surprised Moriarty when he shared them with him.

Some ancient spells are not suitable for modern people. Moriarty is trying to find a balance or more similarities between ancient and modern magic, so that he may be able to create new spells.

Even if that's not possible, the spells left by the ancestor Salazar can be improved, even though those spells are already quite simplified.

After several exchanges, although Moriarty did not have a good impression of fairies, Professor Flitwick earned his respect.

Professor Flitwick often used Moriarty as an example to encourage students in Slytherin and Eagle School to ask questions actively.

Penelope was the most active student, raising her hand to answer Professor Flitwick's questions many times.

She was the first student to learn the Levitation Charm after Professor Flitwick taught it, and although Moriarty was already proficient in using it, it still boosted her confidence.

Penelope carried this momentum into her astronomy class.

Professor Aurora Sinister led the snakes and eagles to observe the night sky through a telescope, learning the names and orbits of various stars, planets, and constellations.

Perhaps due to the astronomical knowledge that Muggles learn in elementary school, Penelope was practically a natural at it. Watching Penelope quickly draw a celestial chart of Jupiter, Professor Sinister did not hesitate to add twenty points to Ravenclaw's score.

"Oh dear, your name is Penelope, right? You're amazing! You know, many children still can't name all of Jupiter's moons even in fifth grade." Professor Sinister said with a kind smile. "Oh? Mr. Moriarty drew them too? Let me see."

She walked over to Moriarty, and soon praised him, adding ten points to Slytherin House.

After Professor Sinister went to tutor other students, Lilith curiously asked Moriarty why he was so proficient in astronomy.

Moriarty understood her thoughts.

Unlike Transfiguration and Potions, where one or two geniuses occasionally emerge, Astronomy and Divination are like a desert of geniuses.

Few people are willing to waste their time on a subject that has little practical significance.

However, Moriarty did not think so; he had not forgotten the words of the Japanese black wizard and the prophecy of immortality.

When it comes to prophecy, divination becomes extremely important, and divination is closely related to astronomy. Moriarty even considered whether he should continue studying astronomy in fifth grade.

After two lessons, Penelope became famous.

Everyone knows that Ravenclaw produced a first-year girl who can rival Moriarty, albeit only in astronomy.

But there aren’t many students who can be compared to Moriarty, and for that reason alone, the Ravenclaw Eagles have given Penelope a very high evaluation.

But when Moriarty calmly recounted the history and effects of White Dew, Professor Pomona Sprout smiled and added ten points to his score. Only then did the students from the four houses realize that Moriarty had already added seventy points to Slytherin's score.

The little snakes remembered the thirty points that Slytherin had deducted from Moriarty and his two companions. If those points were not counted, then Moriarty had already earned a hundred points for Slytherin!

Now, Mr. Slytherin's talk about adding points to Slytherin House was no longer just something he said; students would always look on with longing when they talked about it.

Lilith and Jericho were also concerned about the twenty points that Stalin had deducted from them, and they kept looking for ways to get those points back.

Jericho received praise in his flying lesson, while Lilith excelled at the Snot Charm in her Defense Against the Dark Arts class, earning five extra points from Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Randy Cullen.

From the start of the class, Moriarty had been observing Professor Randy.

He had large black eyes, dark brown hair, a pale face, and wore a black cloak. Moriarty remembered that he always ate only a little bit when he ate in the Great Hall twice.

These strange behaviors and appearances led Moriarty to believe that Professor Randy was a vampire.

The appearance of a vampire at Hogwarts and his appointment as a professor did not surprise Moriarty. Professor Randy behaved no differently than an ordinary person, and at the same time, he taught them how to defend against dark magic in a proper manner, just like the other professors.

What truly puzzled Moriarty was the reason for Professor Randy's appearance. Dumbledore wouldn't bring in a vampire as a professor for no reason, especially not a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

By the end of get out of class, Moriarty hadn't gleaned any valuable clues from Professor Randy, so he suppressed his doubts and went to his History of Magic class.

Unlike most students who find history of magic tedious, Moriarty's interest in the subject ranks among the top three of all his courses.

In the first History of Magic class, Professor Cuthbert Binns gave a brief introduction to several famous historical figures. When he mentioned the goblin rebellion, Moriarty quickly raised his hand. "Professor, could you tell us more about the history of the goblins?"

Professor Binns seemed to have a special affection for Moriarty, and he complied, but he couldn't change the monotonous and boring voice that made the students below drowsy.

Only Moriarty could resist the hypnotic power of the monotonous voice and dry history. As Professor Binns narrated, he kept taking notes and occasionally showed a thoughtful expression.

Another student who didn't fall asleep was Lilith, who was used to the monotony, but she didn't understand why Moriarty would be interested in fairies.

Lilith, resting her chin on her hand, quickly found Moriarty's notes more interesting than a ghost and a notoriously useless subject, and she began to read them.

After Professor Binns finished recounting the history of the fairies, Moriarty asked questions about the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin, and the students suddenly stopped dozing off.

Professor Binns curled his lip, a sight that greatly surprised the students. Then they heard Professor Binns say in a dismissive tone that the secret room was just a "legend," and only what he said was "fact."

However, Professor Binns still talked to Moriarty about the secret room, and what he said basically matched what Moriarty knew.

As soon as get out of class ended, the topic of Moriarty's interest in the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin spread throughout Hogwarts.
