The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 265 The Method of Immortality

Chapter 265 The Method of Immortality

"I know two ways to truly achieve immortality."

Salazar looked down at the cemetery below.

"The first is that death is eternal life."

It is neither a pretentious display of profundity nor an obscure prophecy.

It is a practical method, a path I am currently walking.

Moriarty was not surprised; he had heard the phrase "death is immortality" far too many times.

Salazar even wrote it on the first page of his diary.

only……

There cannot be a simple conversion between death and immortality; there must be some kind of connection.

Moriarty's probing gaze fell on Salazar's face.

"Give me some specific details: methods, techniques, conditions, obstacles..."

You can't become immortal immediately after you die—nobody can.

"The cemetery and family magic circle you see are just one step in the process, a backup plan I left for myself."

Salazar's tone turned somber.

"As for other details, we will not disclose them for the time being."

I'm not keeping anything from you; I just don't want it to affect you.

You know, even though you are my descendant, when we reach the critical point of becoming a legendary archmage and a god of magic, we can only rely on ourselves.

Make a judgment, choose the path next: become a god? Achieve immortality? Challenge death? Return to a simple life? It all depends on yourself.

Moriarty nodded in agreement; that was Salazar.

He wasn't like an old man, nor was he Moriarty's nanny.

They don't care about Moriarty's age or name, and they won't grant Moriarty's every request.

Moriarty doesn't need a Salazar like that.

Salazar treated Moriarty like a legendary archmage of the same caliber.

Without asking any further questions, Moriarty, like Salazar, looked down at the cemetery.

"In order to achieve immortality, you moved your family's cemetery into another dimension and constructed a magic circle. Doing so seems to be a desecration of the dead."

"First of all, I did not blaspheme the dead."

Salazar stared at Moriarty expressionlessly, his tone carrying a Slytherin-like arrogance.

"Secondly, not every legendary archmage chooses to die."

And finally, I want to say…

Salazar narrowed his eyes, his expression arrogant and domineering.

"If I were to blaspheme the dead in order to achieve eternal life, it would not be my fault, and no one could blame me."

Moriarty believed that someone as proud as Salazar would disdain lying, and he said that there was no blasphemy if there was none.

"So, what do you want to do to fill the missing magic circle?"

We both know that the current magic circle is far from its peak.

Salazar read trust in Moriarty's eyes, his gaze softened considerably, and he slowly looked away.

"At the moment, I don't really need the magic circle to reach its peak state."

"Look at me now, even though I'm just a remnant of consciousness in the cemetery, do you think I'm weak?"

"No," Moriarty said softly, "your consciousness is stronger than most wizards, and your strength is unfathomable."

"This is it," Salazar said, half instructing and half marveling, "transcending life and death to achieve immortality. Having chosen this path, death is immortality."

Moriarty gradually understood the meaning of death as immortality. He said, "Transcending life and death? It seems to be related to the veil of death in the Department of Mysteries."

Of course, in your time, there was no Ministry of Magic.

"The veil of death, huh..." Salazar nodded indifferently. "Perhaps it's another way to transcend life and death."

Moriarty could see his nonchalance.

Come to think of it, just as he said, every legendary archmage who has one foot in the divine realm has his own path.

No matter how beautiful the scenery along the roadside is, they will only continue to move forward with determination.

Even if the other path were unobstructed, they would still traverse the rugged and bumpy roads without wavering.

In retrospect, Salazar has most likely chosen the most difficult path.

"However, I still need a complete magic circle." Salazar's tone changed as he looked at the cemetery and then at Moriarty.

"Bury me and my Squib ancestors inside, and the magic circle will be complete," Moriarty joked, though there was little smile in his eyes.

“That’s true, but I won’t do it,” Salazar sighed. “Otherwise, I would have gone to China a thousand years ago and brought back my Squib son.”

Moriarty was suspicious; in essence, he and Salazar were the same kind of people.

He had no doubt that Salazar would bury him and his squashed son in the cemetery if necessary!

"You must be wondering why, hehehe," Salazar sneered. "The reason involves the second method of immortality."

"The second type is the prophecy of immortality."

Salazar's eyes immediately turned cold, releasing a murderous aura.

Such a strong murderous aura.

Moriarty was very sensitive to unusual emotions such as murderous intent, and Salazar was definitely genuinely enraged.

That's understandable.

The prophecy of immortality? It's an old friend.

"The prophecy of immortality is an extremely dark and evil magic," Moriarty began, launching into a long and rambling speech.

"But there is a group of people in this world who hope to achieve an unspeakable secret through the prophecy of immortality."

No one knows the details of this group, so let's call them the Immortal Organization.

You're not telling me that the people who manipulated the Squid's ancestors were this immortal organization, are you?

Salazar glanced at Moriarty with some surprise, then seemed to realize something and his expression returned to normal.

"Merlin told you that?"

Moriarty's eyes were full of smiles.

"Ah, my story with Merlin can be roughly summarized as: meeting in Avalon, fighting against Dracula, and befriending the Elf Queen."

It's very visually appealing.

"Merlin, that guy, he's an interesting fellow."

Salazar smirked and exchanged a glance with Moriarty, finding common ground in their opinions of Merlin.

"Do you know where Merlin's true form is?" Moriarty asked casually.

"Wherever he is, he must be searching for the magic to resurrect King Arthur." Salazar perfectly explained what high emotional intelligence means.

I don't know, but I won't say, and I won't admit that I don't know.

Whether I know or not, you can decide for yourself.

Okay, okay...

Moriarty smiled and shook his head: "When we parted, Merlin, who had transformed into a black dragon, went to Japan with the Elf Queen."

"Japan?"

Salazar frowned. A thousand years ago, Japan was a small country.

Barren and weak, it is known as the "desert of magic".

Is it worthwhile for Merlin to personally visit Japan?

And Vivian was with him?

Salazar knew about Merlin and Vivian's love-hate relationship.

Despite Vivian's unusually extreme attitude towards Merlin, she remained unmoved.

But her strength should not be underestimated; she is a true legend.

Salazar truly felt that Japan was unworthy of such a combination.

Moriarty told Salazar about the attacks that occurred after the World Cup, and Salazar listened, then pursed his lips and pondered for a moment.

"You suspect that the Japanese BOSS is the head of the Immortal Organization? And that he has mastered dark elemental magic."

"That's right." Moriarty said in a deep voice, "As I said before, the reason I'm going to Japan is for this matter."

Sarah looked at Moriarty and shook her head.

I don't believe the leader of the Immortal Organization is the Japanese BOSS.

The reason is simple: a thousand years ago, my Squib son was bewitched, and that person couldn't have been Japanese.

Moriarty raised an eyebrow: "So, the Immortal Organization started its activities a thousand years ago, and even got involved with you."

Given Salazar's character, it's as rare as a troll being able to solve a math problem if he doesn't find out who's behind his son's manipulation.

However, Salazar acted as if it were perfectly normal.

"I don't care about my Squib son. You see, I never say his name. I don't even want to tell you his name."

Besides, I had more important things to do at the time.

Moriarty was somewhat surprised, and Salazar, as if knowing what Moriarty was about to say, coughed.

"Let me finish recounting the prophecy of eternal life, and then we can talk about that matter."

"Oh? How much do you know about the prophecy of immortality?"

Moriarty asked with great interest, explaining that he needed to gather as much intelligence as possible before making contact with the Immortal Organization.

"I don't know much, but it's roughly the same as what you know," Salazar said in a deep voice, without any embarrassment. "However, there is one thing I do know: a prerequisite for realizing the prophecy of immortality is the key!"

"key?"

"Yes, the key!" Salazar became serious. "To realize the prophecy of immortality, we need a key."

Moriarty frowned and tried to recall the key that had appeared beside him, but to no avail.

So it hasn't appeared yet?

No matter when or where the key appears, Moriarty must get his hands on it!

Thank you to Origin of Sin and Moonlit Infinite for the generous donations!
