Chapter 212 The Nimbus Awaits Its Arrival in the 1990s

That evening, Lilith received a reply from her family; Justus Piliwick had arranged for her to meet with Whitehorn, the chairman of the Lightwheel Corporation.

He also claimed that Buddy Crouch had something to discuss with Nimbus Corporation, and that they could visit Whitehorn together the next morning.

How could Lilith, who had been dealing with the powerful and wealthy since childhood, not understand this kind of rhetoric?

Barty Crouch Sr. was sent by the family to back her up.

The next morning, Lilith asked Dumbledore for half a day off and, with Percy and Gemma, used Floo Powder to travel to Diagon Alley via the fireplace in Strickland's office.

At the Leaky Cauldron, they met Barty Crouch.

After the two sides met, Lilith and the others, led by Old Barty, arrived at the headquarters of the Lightwheel Company in London.

This is a grand building shared with Muggles, similar to Woolworth Building of the Magical Congress of the United States.

"Little Pilivik, how much do you know about the Lightwheel Corporation?"

On the way to Chairman Whitehorn's office, Old Barty questioned Lilith.

"Before coming here, I did a thorough investigation of the Light Wheel Company." Lilith smiled confidently and said fluently, "The Light Wheel Company, in full, is the Light Wheel Racing Broom Company!"

Founded in 1967 by Devlin Whitehorn, the Whitehorn family has remained on the board of directors of Lightwheel Inc.

Although it is overseen by a board of directors, it is no exaggeration to call it a family business.

After more than 20 years of development, it has become a leading flying broom company in the broom industry.

Old Barty nodded approvingly, then sighed. "To be honest, this case is difficult. On one side is the leader in the broom industry, and on the other side are Slytherin and Nicolas Flamel. Little Pilivik, do you have a plan?"

"Uncle Barty, to be honest, I thought about it all night," Lilith rubbed her swollen and sore eyes and muttered, "but Moriarty entrusted this matter to me, and I finally gained his trust."

I can't mess this up, you understand?

I want to resolve this contract dispute exceptionally well and handle this matter flawlessly.

Lilith clenched her little fists to cheer herself up. A true queen doesn't need sympathy; she can solve everything!

"Gemma, and Percy too," Lilith called back as she stood in front of the chairman's office door, "Let's go!"

"And me? You should know I'm not just here to show you the way, right?"

Buddy scratched his balding head.

What to do when your former boss's daughter is disobedient? It's really chilling. Yes, I've lost a few more strands of hair!

Lilith firmly rejected Barty's offer, pushed open the two doors upholstered in black leather, and walked into the office with her head held high.

Gemma and Percy are the same.

Barty even noticed that Percy's legs were shaking with excitement.

"Good luck to you." Barty glanced enviously at the boys and girls, then thought of his son... Sigh!

Lilith and her two companions entered the office and saw a middle-aged male wizard with short, gray-brown hair sitting at a large desk, staring intently at them.

"Oh, this must be Lilith, the only daughter of the Piriwick family, right?" The wizard stood up and greeted her with a smile: "I am the current chairman of the Lightwheel Corporation. You can just call me Whitehorn."

"Hello, Mr. Whitehorn."

After Lilith and the other two greeted each other politely, they sat down in the chairs opposite Whitehorn.

His hair was grayish-brown, which, combined with his tan wizard robes, gave him a kind and honest appearance.

However, his nose was sharp and long, which, when viewed alongside his bright blue eyes, ruined his honest appearance and instead revealed a hint of cunning.

Lilith sized up Whitehorn, analyzing his personality through his appearance in order to gain the upper hand in the negotiations.

"Let's not waste time with pleasantries, Mr. Whitehorn. You surely know why we're here," Lilith preemptively stated. "We're here on behalf of Moriarty Slytherin and Nicolas Flamel to terminate our contract with your company."

Seeing Lilith's businesslike demeanor, Whitehorn dropped his pretense of a smile and reverted to his businessman's nature, coldly stating, "That's impossible."

The atmosphere froze instantly. Lilith leaned back in her chair, looking at Whitehorn, while Percy didn't know what to say.

At this point, Gemma said, "Are you sure you don't want to reconsider? Should we convene a board meeting and discuss it with the shareholders? Making a decision like this seems far too hasty."

"I'm not a freshman at Hogwarts, so I don't need this... senior's advice," Whitehorn said, looking at Gemma with a sneer. "I graduated from Hogwarts over 20 years ago."

“Gemma didn’t advise you,” Lilith looked at Whitehorn with pity. “To put it bluntly, we all think your decision was foolish, but she didn’t want to say it for fear of hurting you.”

"madness."

Whitehorn nodded noncommittally, his expression indifferent.

"Let's look at the background of this case: Moriarty Slytherin and Nicolas Flamel sent my company a half-finished version of their new broom."

Whitehorn tried to persuade Lilith with his theory.

"I made an exception and allowed them to contribute their technology as equity. If they agree, they will become employees of Lightwheel Corporation."

For every broom they sell, they receive a commission, which is all included in their annual salary!

Isn't this better?

Whitehorn spread his hands, looking puzzled.

"If they didn't choose Nimbus, which company would they choose?"

Comets or sweeping attacks?

"By Merlin, I'm not bragging, but even if Comet and Sweep were combined, they couldn't compare to Nimbus."

"Arrogant!" Percy retorted. "Comet 240 and Sweeping Seven are quite good!"

His face flushed with excitement. Although he didn't have a flying broom, he had used Charlie's Five Stars, a broom that had accompanied him throughout his childhood.

"Ah~" Whitehorn glanced at Percy, then laughed when he saw his red hair. "The Weasley kids are naturally inclined to sweep, no need to say more, I understand! Because you can't afford the Nimbus at all."

He leaned back smugly against the wide back of the chair.

Percy glared at Whitehorn, panting heavily, while Lilith calmly said, "Mr. Whitehorn, do you think you have Moriarty and Professor Nicolas Flamel figured out?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Whitehorn chuckled.

"The contract clearly states in black and white that after Moriarty and Professor Nicolas Flamel contributed their technology as equity, all the research and development results belong to Lightwheel Corporation!"

Furthermore, the Light Wheel Company has the right of first refusal to sell these results!

Even now, don't you feel like you're extorting money?

Lilith's voice gradually turned cold, and she sneered, "I thought you were a shrewd businesswoman, but I didn't expect you to be a fool who loves to dream."

Many wizards covet Moriarty's research results, but you are the most foolish one!

"Trying to seize Moriarty's research results with a single contract? Merlin wouldn't even dare to think that way."

Lilith's gaze toward Whitehorn held a mixture of mockery and regret.

That look made him uncomfortable, and he frowned. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

"I must tell you, Moriarty is willing to share the new brooms with the Nimbus Company, but only with the new brooms, understand?"

Lilith stared intently at Whitehorn, adding in an unquestionable tone, "As for other research findings, don't even think about it!"

"Ha ha," Whitehorn chuckled, "Why wouldn't I want to? When it comes to the new broom, Moriarty has no choice but to choose me!"

Lilith and the other two looked at Whitehorn with pity, as if they had heard the biggest joke in the world.

"Do you know why Moriarty sent a half-finished version of his new broom to the Nimbus Company?"

"Of course I know. He's just trying to whet my appetite so he can get more Gallon when we negotiate the contract. Otherwise, he would have sent the finished product!" Whitehorn said angrily.

Lilith and the other two exchanged a glance, utterly exasperated by his stupidity.

Percy had always been pressured by others about his poor background, and now he finally found a scapegoat. He laughed exaggeratedly.

"Even a hundred Nimbus companies combined wouldn't be as wealthy as the Slytherin family!"

You actually question Mr. Moriarty's wealth? That's laughable!

Have you read Mr. Lockhart's novels? There's an underground vault in Slytherin Castle, a massive underground plaza hundreds of times larger than Gringotts, filled entirely with gold!

Whitehorn's expression changed, and Lilith seized the opportunity to say, "Actually, Moriarty sent the new broom to Nimbus because the World Cup is about to start!"

Lilith pondered all night yesterday, still unable to understand why Moriarty had sent the new broom to the Lightwheel Company.

Moriarty was so rich that he had plenty of wizards willing to work for him.

He could have easily started his own broom company, but he didn't.

Lilith couldn't understand why until she repeatedly pondered Moriarty's letter, and she realized that Moriarty wanted to use a new type of broom at the World Cup!

However, time constraints prevented Moriarty from starting a company, making brooms, and mass-producing them.

Currently, only Light Wheel Company can produce the new broom within a week.

Lilith told Whitehorn why Moriarty chose Nimbus, hoping that Whitehorn could face reality and stop trying to take advantage of Moriarty.

But the greedy Whitehorn immediately became defiant.

He threatened Lilith, saying that if she didn't hand over Moriarty's research results to him, he wouldn't make new brooms for Moriarty!

Percy and Gemma wanted nothing more than to curse Whitehorn, but Lilith stopped the two pillars of justice and law.

She smiled and said to Whitehorn, "Sir, I'm just giving you a friendly reminder."

If, I mean if!

If the British team were eliminated, or even missed out on the championship, because they failed to use the new brooms, what do you think the British wizards would think?

Whitehorn swallowed hard; he had a bad feeling.

Lilith continued, "Think about it again. If the British wizards knew that you were the one who ordered the national team players not to make new brooms, what would they think?"

Whitehorn's expression changed drastically. Wouldn't the crazy fans turn his company upside down?

Lilith smiled brightly: "I'm sure you wouldn't want a British wizard, would you?"

"Ah, yes..." Whitehorn said awkwardly. If he offended the British wizards, who would come to Nimbus to buy flying brooms!

"Then let's delve into contract law, but don't rush, we've prepared a new contract for Lightwheel Corporation," Lilith waved her wand, and a new contract appeared on her desk.

Lilith opened the contract and read it aloud:

"There were no hegemonic clauses in the contract, and Moriarty Slytherin and Nicolas Flamel's collaboration with the Lightcycle Power Company was limited to new types of brooms."

Within a week, the Light Wheel Company produced 12 new brooms!

Then you can sell it under the name of the Light Wheel Company. I've even thought of a name for you: Light Wheel 1990S!

Divided into four and six, Moriarty Slytherin and Nicolas Flamel are six, and Nimbus is four.

This is a win-win contract. Sign it, Mr. Whitehorn.

Lilith stood up, raised her head, and looked down at Whitehorn with a victorious smile on her face.
