I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.

Chapter 61 I'm not seeking peace anymore; it'll be easier to just lock you up.

The next morning, Yun Muqian woke up, turned over, and glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table. It was almost ten o'clock.

Yesterday, unable to resist Qin Qihan's persistent pleading, she was exhausted and slept for a long time, lazily sinking into the mattress, not wanting to move.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes, noticing a glass of water on the bedside table. Downstairs, Qin Qihan sat by the window with a cup of black coffee in front of him and an untouched sandwich next to him.

He was wearing light gray loungewear, his hair casually hanging down his forehead, without being styled with hair gel as usual, making him look much softer than usual.

Yun Muqian stood at the top of the stairs and looked at him for two seconds. He heard footsteps, looked up, and his gaze fell on her face. The corners of his mouth curved slightly, revealing a very faint smile that could hardly be called a smile.

"Awake? Are you hungry?"

Yun Muqian walked to the dining table and sat down opposite him. He seemed much calmer now, and his anxious look towards her was gone. He didn't touch her during the meal.

really weird.

Did he suddenly figure it out overnight?

In fact, Qin Qihan realized that being humble and trying to please others was useless.

He planned to lock her up after returning to China, in a place only he knew, so that she could never stray again. Rather than begging for reconciliation, he preferred to suppress her in his usual way.

"Have you figured it out?"

She asked.

"I've figured it out," he said slowly and deliberately.

"What?" She was curious, but also a little uneasy.

Qin Qihan looked at her, "I understand now, you're right."

Qin Qihan's calmness made her feel that something was wrong.

If someone spends the entire night teetering on the edge of collapse and losing control, and then wakes up the next morning as if nothing happened, calmly saying they've figured it out, then either they've truly come to their senses, or they've just been holding back a huge blow.

She prefers the latter.

Having been with Qin Qihan for so long, I've never seen him so calm. He's not the kind of person who gives up easily. He's had everything he wanted since he was a child, and he's used to pursuing a goal to the very end. He would never give up halfway through.

She put down her chopsticks, leaned back in her chair, crossed her arms, and looked at him. "Qin Qihan."

"Um?"

"Say it again," she said. "What have you finally figured out?"

"I'll give you the freedom you want."

"So when do you plan to go back to China?" she asked.

"My flight is tomorrow," he said. "You can stay a few more days if you want; the house is well-maintained, so you can stay as long as you like. I'll stay with you."

"You're not thinking anything weird, are you?"

"You're overthinking it," he said, smiling gently. "I won't go back on my promise to you."

"What about Zhou Xue?"

Qin Qihan looked up at her, a slight surprise flashing in his eyes, as if he didn't quite understand why she would mention that name.

Zhou Xue was his ex-girlfriend. After he officially got together with Yun Muqian, Zhou Xue sent him a message, but he didn't reply and just deleted the conversation.

"What does it have to do with her?" he asked.

Yun Muqian leaned back in her chair. "You told me you've thought it through, so you must have thought about more than just giving me up. Since you've given me up, you should at least look forward. Zhou Xue has been waiting for you to turn back, hasn't she?"

Qin Qihan's brow furrowed slightly.

"I was just thinking," she said, "that if I really am going to break up with you completely, you'll have to find someone. Can you really live alone forever?"

Qin Qihan was silent for a moment, then asked, "You want me to reconcile with her?"

Yun Muqian thought for a moment, "I can't say whether I hope so or not. It's your decision, it's none of my business anymore."

She knew Qin Qihan well enough that once he had someone he truly loved, he wouldn't care about political marriages or extravagant weddings anymore, but she wanted to hear his words in person.

"No." He gazed at her. "I won't get back together with her. I'll only ever love you. If things don't work out with you, I'll live alone."

His stable emotions seemed somewhat unusual to her.

But it's best to part amicably. He's willing to set her free, so they can get along well. She smiled broadly, her voice even softer than usual: "You're so beautiful and so rich, more and more people will like you. You'll always find someone you like."

Qin Qihan, observing the genuine joy in her eyes, frowned in displeasure.

He tried everything to please her, but she wasn't that happy. Now, all he said was to set her free, and she's overjoyed.

Let's see how he teaches her a lesson when he gets back to China.
