I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.
Chapter 23 Do you want me to marry someone else? Won't you feel sad?
Yun Muqian naturally raised her hand. "It's not a scar, it's a birthmark. I've had it since I was little."
She did indeed have several birthmarks on her body. As she spoke, she lifted the inside of her left arm, revealing a light brown birthmark there. "There's one here too."
Zhou Xue's gaze fell on the birthmark she had found. "Oh, I see. That's quite rare."
She looked at Yun Muqian's face again, her gaze sliding from her eyebrows to the bridge of her nose, and then from the bridge of her nose to her lips. Yun Muqian smiled slightly and calmly met her gaze.
She knew her face was beautiful enough, so she spent a million dollars, lay on the operating table for hours, and underwent bone shaving, fillers, double eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty. Every incision was meticulously planned.
The plastic surgeon said that she recovered exceptionally well and the surgery was very successful; it was so natural that no one would notice unless she brought it up herself.
"You have such beautiful features," Zhou Xue smiled, her tone filled with sincere praise.
Yun Muqian praised her a few times, and after chatting about some trivial family matters, Zhou Xue went upstairs, saying she had something to get.
Zhou Yao leaned closer: "So, how about it? Does my sister really like you? She's not usually this enthusiastic with other people."
Yun Muqian turned her head and glanced at him: "Your sister is such a nice person."
She was so good to him that it almost ruined her life.
The day went relatively smoothly. Zhou's mother invited her to stay for dinner, and Zhou Yao kept putting food on her plate. Zhou Xue sat across from her at the table, occasionally chiming in with a gentle tone, like a friendly and generous older sister.
However, ever since Qin Qihan and Zhou Xue had some problems, Zhou Xue has been visiting Qin Qihan's company much more often.
She used to come once or twice a week, mostly to have dinner with Qin Qihan or to make plans with elders from the Qin family. Now she appears at the company every few days, sometimes bringing afternoon tea, sometimes just saying she's passing by and wants to drop by.
She always arrived with that gentle smile, greeting the receptionist and nodding and smiling at passing employees.
However, she would casually stop next to a workstation, her gaze sweeping over the photos, water cups, and folders on the desk. If she saw a pretty female employee, she would strike up a conversation and ask her all sorts of questions.
A subtle, indescribable atmosphere quickly filled the company.
The first to change were the young and beautiful female employees.
No one dared to wear low-cut clothes anymore; they swapped short skirts for trousers, and some even deliberately avoided the corridor where Zhou Xue would pass.
No one was explicitly warned, but everyone felt the silent gaze—a gentle, smiling, yet icy gaze.
Yun Muqian also changed. She dressed more conservatively, wore lighter makeup, and even tied her hair into a very ordinary ponytail.
Aside from handing over work duties, she almost never chats with anyone.
Qin Qihan's attitude towards Zhou Xue is also changing little by little.
He used to have a few meals with her and send her messages to maintain a proper and polite relationship between them, but recently he has become silent. The marriage is linked to the interests of the family, but it cannot determine his heart.
She didn't know how much patience Qin Qihan had left for Zhou Xue, but she knew it was definitely running out.
But no matter what, Yun Muqian would not ask Qin Qihan to break up with Zhou Xue.
She would never do anything that would damage her image.
What she wanted was a decision from the bottom of his heart.
If he truly wanted to have her completely and keep her by his side peacefully, there was only one way to do it—he had to break up with Zhou Xue cleanly and decisively.
She just needs to wait until he wants to be with her legitimately, and he will make his choice then. It has nothing to do with her.
That evening, Qin Qihan's car pulled up in front of her villa. It was still early, so he must have come right after finishing his work. He used to make time to visit the Zhou family or spend time with Zhou Xue, but now she had all his time.
She put on a coat and got into the car. As she fastened her seatbelt, she heard him ask:
"What would you like to eat?"
She thought for a moment and said, "A street food stall."
Qin Qihan's fingers paused on the steering wheel, as if he had heard a word he didn't quite understand. "Street food stall?"
"It's just a roadside stall." She smiled. "You've definitely never been there."
"It's not clean," he said.
"That's what I want to eat." She tilted her head and looked at him. "You take me to fancy restaurants all the time, but today I just want to eat at a street stall."
Qin Qihan looked at her for a few seconds, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just looked away, turned the steering wheel and turned into another road. Without asking her for the address, he drove directly towards the night market.
Finally, he stopped in front of a roadside food stall that looked like it had been open for many years.
Under the tin shed, there were a dozen or so red and green plastic tables and chairs. The stove was at the very back of the shed, and the hot oil in the large pot was sizzling, with the smoke and aroma of food mingling together.
When Qin Qihan got out of the car, the eyes of people at the surrounding tables all turned to him.
He was wearing a black turtleneck sweater with a well-tailored dark gray overcoat, standing out awkwardly between the plastic chair and the greasy table.
"Where should I sit?" He glanced down at the slightly greasy, shiny plastic chair, his voice flat.
Yun Muqian had already sat down, picked up the oil-stained plastic menu on the table, and started ordering.
Qin Qihan pulled out the plastic chair opposite her and sat down. Yun Muqian ordered the dishes and added two bottles of soda.
The boss worked quickly, and the dishes were served one after another. Just then, Qin Qihan's phone, which was on the table, lit up.
The caller's name was displayed on the screen—Zhou Xue.
She truly poured her heart and soul into this relationship.
Qin Qihan glanced at it but didn't answer. The screen went dark, then lit up again after a few seconds, as if the other party was waiting for him to answer.
Yun Muqian said casually, "Go ahead and answer it. It's too noisy and crowded here. You can go to a quieter spot across the street where there are fewer people."
Qin Qihan looked at her, as if hoping she would tell him not to answer the phone.
But she simply said, "She's your girlfriend, isn't it normal for her to contact you?"
He didn't say anything, but hung up the phone decisively, and his face remained gloomy the whole way back.
