I'm sorry, but your fiancé loves me.

Chapter 19 Who would want to be a mistress? It's not her fault.

She argued with Qin Qihan, and of course, she didn't fare well; he tormented her all night, tossing and turning her over and over.

Afterwards, Qin Qihan wondered if he had spoiled Yun Muqian too much.

She actually dared to talk to him like that. When they first met, she was so well-behaved, serving him tea and water, never saying a word she shouldn't have. He gave her money, bags, and cars, and she accepted them, then continued to stay obediently by his side.

Like a well-trained cat.

But now this cat has learned to scratch people.

He says one thing to her, she says three things back; he says "say it again," and she actually says it again.

Who does she think she is? Does she think he won't really do anything to her? Does she think he can't live without her?

During her free time, Qin Qihan felt it would be good to calm down.

He can't spoil her too much.

If they're spoiled, they'll be hard to manage later.

After making this decision, he never contacted her again.

Once she figured things out, she would come back to him, but before she could, he caught a cold. He rarely got sick, but when he did, it was a severe case.

Moreover, he didn't sleep well at night. There was a large empty space next to him, and the blankets were too cold. He tossed and turned but couldn't find a warm body.

He doesn't like people sleeping next to him, because he finds it too hot and in the way.

But Yun Muqian would always lean closer, bury her face in his chest, and cling to him with her arms and legs. He would say, "It's hot, don't get so close," but he never pushed her away.

Now nobody comes to comfort him anymore, and he can't sleep well at night. Maybe that's how he caught a cold.

Qin Qihan's head felt heavy, and his temples throbbed with pain, but he continued working. Yun Muqian and he saw each other all the time, but neither of them spoke.

He was forced to stay home to recuperate only after he developed a fever.

Zhou Xue arrived in the evening, carrying an insulated bag containing a light soup and several boxes of cold medicine.

"Qihan, it's me," she said, placing the insulated bag on the bedside table. She walked over and touched his forehead; her palm was warm and had a faint fragrance. "You're a little hot. Did you take your medicine?"

Qin Qihan said, "No."

Zhou Xue poured him a glass of warm water and brought it to him along with his medicine.

"Eat this first, then drink the soup."

After watching him take the medicine, Zhou Xue instructed the servants to cook a bowl of vegetable and lean meat porridge.

Zhou Xue is a very suitable person for marriage. She is very gentle and caring towards the person she likes. She comes from a good family and is good at managing interpersonal relationships. The entire Qin family is very satisfied with her. She is the perfect marriage partner.

But as Qin Qihan watched her retreating figure, he suddenly thought of Yun Muqian.

If it were Yun Muqian... how would she take care of him?

His mind was already foggy, and Yun Muqian's face appeared in front of him uncontrollably. Qin Qihan was a little annoyed, but he couldn't help thinking, why didn't she even call him?

Seeing that he didn't have a good appetite, Zhou Xue suggested they go outside for a walk and she would buy him some street food to whet his appetite.

After she left, Qin Qihan took out his phone and made a call to his assistant.

"President Qin." The call connected.

"These past few days..." Qin Qihan cleared his throat, "has Yun Muqian come to the company?"

"Here you are, Mr. Qin. Please resume work as usual. What are your instructions?"

Qin Qihan paused for a moment, then said, "It's nothing."

The assistant seemed to sense something was amiss: "Mr. Qin, should I tell Miss Yun that you're ill?"

Qin Qihan simply said, "No need."

After that, he threw the phone to the other side of the bed.

The TV was on, playing an old movie he had watched countless times. He turned the volume down very low, and while he watched the swaying figures on the screen, his mind was completely blank and quiet.

He suddenly wondered if she really didn't care about him.

He could ignore her, give her the silent treatment, and tell himself she would come back eventually. But what if she didn't come back?

This thought, like a fine needle, suddenly pierced a spot he hadn't even noticed himself. It was so subtle that it made him stiffen slightly.

He won't let her leave. She lives in his house, eats his food, and spends his money. As long as he doesn't let her go, she can't leave. He also doesn't want to see her find another partner and be with someone else.

He picked up his phone again, found Yun Muqian's number, and dialed it.

It rang three times before the other end answered.

"Feed?"

"...Come here." His voice was so hoarse it was almost inaudible.

"What's wrong with you?" She seemed to have sensed something.

"I caught your cold," Qin Qihan said. His girlfriend went to buy him food, but he was openly calling another woman and asking her to come over.

He wouldn't have done something like this before.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then her voice came through again: "Did you go to the hospital? Did you take your medicine?"

Qin Qihan, holding his phone, said, "I want you to come over."

Yun Muqian arrived quickly. The door wasn't locked, and he heard a slight noise coming from the entrance hall, followed by footsteps. High heels clicked on the floor, unhurriedly, as if deliberately making the noise light.

He didn't turn his head, remaining leaning against the headboard. His footsteps stopped at the bedroom door: "I'm here."

He glanced at her; she was wearing a black slip dress with extremely thin straps hanging at the ends of her collarbone. The neckline was very low, and the hem of the dress reached the upper thigh, revealing a section of her long, slender legs encased in black stockings.

She was carrying the food she had cooked herself.

"The door wasn't locked, so I just came in."

Qin Qihan looked at her without moving.

She walked over, her face looking exceptionally beautiful in the light of the bedside lamp. He called her over, but didn't speak to her.

However, she didn't mind. She took the bowl out of the insulated bag, opened the lid, and a sweet and sticky steam wafted out.

She made red bean paste soup, but added too much sugar, making it too sweet to swallow. However, Qin Qihan drank it all. He only took two sips of the light soup that Zhou Xue had brought earlier.

I don't know why, but no matter how hard it is to swallow, he will drink it if she feeds him.

Then, Yun Muqian took off her high heels, lifted a corner of the blanket, and crawled in.

She leaned closer, buried her face in his shoulder, and gently kissed his neck. He finally couldn't resist, and pulled her tightly into his arms, so forcefully that she let out a muffled groan.

"Why the long face?" she said softly. "I'm here, and you haven't said a word to me."

"Husband." Yun Muqian's voice trailed off softly, and his Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he heard her say, "Do you miss me?"

Qin Qihan is a person who never expresses his emotions; whether he wants to or not, he will never say.

But she could tell from his reaction that he was thinking about it.

"I miss you so much," she said. "Qin Qihan, I've missed you so much these past few days."

It's a lie, it must be a lie. Qin Qihan thought subconsciously.

His arms tightened, deepening the kiss. She struggled slightly in his arms but couldn't break free; instead, he held her even tighter.

When the kiss ended, he turned his head, pressed his lips to her earlobe, and his voice was so hoarse it was almost inaudible:

"It's so sweet!"

She said, "Are you talking about me or the soup?"

He grasped her waist, rolled her over, and pressed her onto the soft mattress. His fever hadn't subsided; his breath was heavy and hot. He looked down at her.

"Having not contacted me for days, have you already found someone else?"

Yun Muqian looked up at him from beneath him, her fingers still loosely wrapped around the back of his neck. She propped herself up and kissed the bridge of his high nose.

"How could you think so badly of me?" her voice was soft, slightly hoarse from the kiss. "I didn't go anywhere; I was just waiting for your call at home."

Qin Qihan wasn't swayed by her. He reached out and pinched her cheek. His hand was so big that it almost completely enveloped her small face, making it impossible for her to turn her head away.

"Are you thinking of finding someone else, Yun Muqian? Why are you suddenly treating me like this?"

"I'm not looking for another job."

Qin Qihan stared at her for a few seconds:

"Then why didn't you message me?"

When he asked the question, his voice was a few decibels lower than before, as if he hadn't wanted to ask but couldn't help it: "If I don't let you come over, are you really planning to end things like this?"

Looking at him, Yun Muqian suddenly felt that he was like a child asking for candy, clearly wanting it but insisting on saying "I don't like candy" with a straight face.

It's like he had already decided to ignore her for a while, but he still took the initiative to contact her.

He didn't know why he did it. It was as if he couldn't say it himself, but wanted Yun Muqian to know; it was as if he couldn't bring himself to admit defeat, but couldn't bear the thought of her not showing up.

"You didn't message me either," she said. "You weren't telling me you were sick sooner, so don't blame me."

She talked back and argued with him again, which fueled Qin Qihan's anger. He bit her lip hard, and she groaned in pain, but he didn't soften his grip.

"Yun Muqian, don't talk back! If you talk back again, I'll kill you!"

"I thought you were angry." She reminded him of that day, "You looked so pale that day, I thought you didn't want me anymore..."

"Who said I don't want you anymore?" Qin Qihan told her, "I told you that as long as you're obedient, I'll take care of you forever."

But then again...

Who wants to be a mistress forever?

Qin Qihan has always been aloof and incapable of empathy or putting himself in others' shoes, but now, for the first time, he is seriously considering this issue.
