Ning Meng's eyes flickered for a moment, then she said, "I don't usually go to bars. Those places are all messy and disreputable. You shouldn't go either, right?"

The bar was indeed chaotic. A few days ago, Chen Hu and his gang got into a fight with people from the urban village, so it was definitely not a place for girls to go.

"I'm going to investigate my cousin's whereabouts. If you're not going, I'll go myself."

I hesitated for a moment, then said to Ning Meng, "My sister-in-law is a good person, it's just that too many things have happened to her lately."

"I understand. If it weren't for President Su, I wouldn't have caused trouble for Teacher Jiang. It's all my fault for troubling you all."

Ning Meng smiled sweetly at me and said, "I'm going to buy something. Is there anything you want to buy?"

I watched Ning Meng leave, then rode a shared bicycle to Nightfall Bar.

As I approached Nightfall Bar, I parked my shared bike by the roadside and went inside.

I was standing at the door, about to call Chen Hu, when I heard someone call out to me, "Brother Feng."

I turned my head and saw a girl with dreadlocks, wearing a crop top, shorts, and Crocs.

"Hello." I don't know her.

The girl exclaimed excitedly, "You really are Brother Feng! You're my idol! Brother Feng, can we take a picture together?"

Seeing that the girl didn't seem to be joking, I asked in bewilderment, "I'm not a celebrity, why do you treat me like an idol?"

The girl's face lit up as she said, "Those celebrities are all effeminate, nothing compares to you, Brother Feng. You took a knife from those bastards in the urban village with your bare body and even saved Brother Hu."

Being admired by a girl gave me an unprecedented sense of vanity, and I subconsciously puffed out my chest and asked, "I'm looking for Tiger, is Tiger here?"

"It should be on the third floor. I'll take you up."

The girl must have just woken up. She led me up to the third floor, and just as I was about to knock on the door, it opened by itself, and a sleepy-eyed woman came out.

The woman glanced at the girl who was leading the way, said nothing, shuffled in her sandals, scratched her scalp, and let her long, dark yellow hair fly wildly.

The girl pinched her nose and tried to open the window, but Chen Hu chased her away.

Chen Hu opened the window himself and handed me a cigarette.

"Brother Feng, your cousin..."

My heart skipped a beat: "My cousin has been found?"

Chen Hu shook his head and said, "Your cousin Lin Fang has probably been kidnapped."

"Kidnapping?" I exclaimed in surprise. "But no one asked for money."

Kidnapping is obviously for money; kidnappers wouldn't kidnap someone just to kill them, would they?

Chen Hu said, "It's not clear yet, but about two weeks ago someone saw President Lin being pushed into a car on Qingnian Road."

"Well, you can't really call it being kidnapped, can you?"

Chen Hu quickly asked me, "Are you alright?"

Chen Hu tossed him a cigarette, which he immediately caught with both hands, bowing obsequiously and saying, "I wonder what good news Brother Hu has for me?"

Then I lit cigarettes for Chen Hu and me.

He didn't recognize me and looked at me with a puzzled expression.

They're probably guessing my identity and my relationship with Chen Hu.
