Chapter 91 Wen Lin is in trouble

Zhou Jinfa got drunk and went on a rampage. After kicking someone, he fell asleep immediately.

Wen Lin lay on the ground for a long time and couldn't get up.

She rubbed her stomach, curled up in pain, and cold sweat beaded on her forehead. She was in so much pain that she couldn't make a sound.

I don't know how long it took before the pain slowly subsided.

She propped herself up from the ground and sat there, breathing slowly for a long time before she recovered. Looking up at Zhou Jin, she saw that he was already fast asleep, his shoes and clothes still on, snoring loudly.

In the next room, Ruoruo is crying.

Wen Lin propped herself up and Ruoruo urinated.

"Ruoruo, don't cry, Mommy will change your diaper. Let's wash it first, then change into a clean one."

Wen Lin coaxed him softly and gently, her hands moving with a light and practiced touch.

After she finished, she couldn't even straighten her back.

He stood up for quite a while, supporting himself on Ruoruo's crib, before he could slowly stand up straight.

Downstairs, Liu Cuie, the mother-in-law, came out of her room in her pajamas and stood at the top of the stairs, cursing:

"What kind of mother are you! The child is crying like that in the middle of the night, do you even know how to take care of a child? I really don't know what use you are. You can't take care of the child, you can't earn money, and your cooking is terrible."

Liu Cuie cursed at the stairwell for a full ten minutes before returning to her room.

Wen Lin sat by Ruoruo's crib, silently shedding tears.

……

Wen Jia bought shrimp dumplings and rice noodle rolls on her way back from her morning run.

I had just entered the door when I received a call from Wen Lin.

"Jiajia, could you come here for a moment?"

Upon hearing that Wen Lin was crying on the other end of the phone, Wen Jia immediately dropped her breakfast.

"Sis, what's wrong?"

Wen Lin sobbed anxiously, "It wasn't me, it was Ruoruo. Ruoruo has been crying. I took her temperature, and it's 40 degrees Celsius."

"Hurry to the hospital! Where's my brother-in-law?"

"He went out again early this morning. Mom went to the park to dance too. The nanny is on leave these days because of some family matters."

Wen Lin's crying was heartbreaking.

"Sis, don't worry. I'm coming right away."

Fortunately, Wen Jia was not far from Wen Lin's house. Twenty minutes later, Wen Jia rushed into the Zhou family villa.

Wen Lin held Ruo Ruo and spun her around in the living room. Ruo Ruo had a fever-reducing patch on her head and was crying her heart out, struggling in Wen Lin's arms. Wen Lin couldn't hold her anymore.

"Sis, the car is right outside. Let's take Ruoruo to the hospital right now."

Wen Jia quickly packed Ruoruo's baby bottle, formula, diapers, and wet wipes, stuffing them all into a large bag.

Upon arriving at the hospital, another hour was spent on blood tests. They said I had been infected with adenovirus and would need to be hospitalized for at least a week.

Another round of clanging and banging ensued, and by the time the hospital admission procedures were completed, it was already noon.

After receiving an IV drip and fever-reducing medication, Ruoruo finally calmed down and fell into a deep sleep in her hospital bed.

Wen Lin hadn't stopped, but as soon as she stopped to rest, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, and she couldn't stand up. She collapsed to her knees by the bed and vomited.

The commotion startled Wen Jia.

"Sis, what's wrong?"

She quickly helped Wen Lin up.

Wen Lin's face was as white as a sheet of paper, and her forehead was covered in cold sweat. Lying on the hospital bed, she only managed to utter one sentence:

"Don't be afraid, I'm fine."

The person's eyes rolled back and they fainted.

……

An hour later.

"Doctor, what's wrong with my sister?" Wen Jia asked the emergency doctor.

"Your sister has a ruptured spleen. Has she recently experienced any severe external impact?" the doctor asked.

"What do you mean? What is meant by a severe external impact?"

Wen Jia said she didn't understand some of it.

Wen Lin has no worries about food and clothing. She usually stays at home taking care of her children and growing vegetables. She is very leisurely. Where did such a violent external impact come from?

The doctor said, "For example, beatings, falls, being hit by heavy objects, and falls from heights can all cause spleen rupture. Your sister needs absolute bed rest, which will probably take about two weeks."

Wen Jia returned to her ward with a heavy heart.

Wen Lin was lying in bed receiving an IV drip, while Ruo Ruo was specially arranged to sit in the bed next to her.

The mother and daughter both collapsed at once.

"Sister, how could your spleen rupture when you were perfectly fine?" Wen Jia's voice was deep.

Wen Lin smiled weakly.

"Maybe it's because I tripped and fell in the vegetable garden yesterday. It just hurt for a moment, and I didn't pay attention to it. Who knew it would be so serious?"

Wen Jia looked at her and said, "Sister, you're so careless."

"I understand, I'll be more careful in the future."

Wen Lin trembled inwardly. She couldn't bring herself to tell anyone that Zhou Jin had hit her. What good would it do to tell anyone anyway?

Wen Lin's phone rang, and as soon as Wen Jia answered it, she heard Liu Cuie's voice.

"Where did he go in the middle of the day? He'll come back and there won't be any food for him."

Hearing Liu Cuie's impolite voice, Wen Jia's face immediately darkened.

"Auntie, I'm Wen Jia. My sister and Ruoruo are both at the hospital."

Upon hearing that it was Wen Jia, Liu Cuie's attitude immediately changed 180 degrees.

"Jiajia, what's wrong with Ruoruo?"

Wen Jia explained Ruoruo's situation, and Liu Cuie immediately took a taxi over. When she arrived, Wen Jia was out paying the bill.

"Oh dear, my sweet granddaughter, how did you get sick? Come here, let Grandma give you a hug and a kiss."

As soon as Liu Cuie entered, she hugged Ruoruo tightly, crying, and comforted her granddaughter for a while before turning to look at Wen Lin on the bed behind her.

"What's going on now?"

"Mom, I fell and my spleen ruptured." Wen Lin was very weak.

Liu Cuie rolled her eyes and muttered:

"She's not made of paper; a fall and her spleen ruptures? That's so dramatic. And she wasn't born a princess, so why is she so fragile? How long will she be bedridden?"

"The doctor said two weeks."

"Two weeks!"

Liu Cuie's voice became shrill.

"If you lie in bed for two weeks, who will take care of Ruoruo? Who will look after Ajin? The nanny isn't here these days either. Do you expect me to take care of you? Wenlin, stop lying in bed pretending to be dead!"

"Mom, it really hurts."

Wen Lin had been in pain since last night, but Ruo Ruo cried and made a fuss in the middle of the night, and her temperature rose in the morning. She had no time to take care of herself and was just holding on by sheer willpower.

"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts! I must have owed you something in my past life. How did Ah Jin end up with a wife like you?"

Liu Cuie rolled her eyes impatiently, turned around to take care of Ruoruo, and ignored Wen Lin's pain.

Wen Jia came in. "Auntie's here."

Upon seeing Wen Jia, Liu Cuie's expression immediately changed. "Jiajia, thank you so much! If it weren't for you, Ruoruo and Linlin would have suffered terribly. Jiajia, you're really amazing. Not only are you beautiful, but you're also so good at making money. Working for a big corporation is incredible!"

Wen Jia said, "Auntie, if it's an adenovirus infection, the doctor said the high fever will last for several days. My sister's spleen ruptured, and she also needs to rest in bed for two weeks. Auntie, I'm afraid you'll have to go through a lot during this time."

"What are you saying! If she were my own granddaughter, I would treat Linlin like my own daughter and would definitely take good care of her. Don't worry."

Liu Cuie held Wen Lin's hand, and it was indeed very affectionate.

"Your sister, she just can't sit still. I told her not to do such tiring and dirty work as growing vegetables, but she wouldn't listen. Our Zhou Jin is so good at making money, it's not like we're short of cash. Jiajia, don't you think so?"

"Auntie, if my sister likes it, let her grow it. You can't buy fresh, organic, pesticide-free vegetables anywhere else!"

"Ah, yes, yes."

In the afternoon, Zhou Jin finally arrived late.

He saw Wen Lin lying on the bed, a fleeting look of guilt crossing his face.

"Linlin..."

He reached out to take Wen Lin's hand, but Wen Lin subtly let go.

Zhou Jin felt a little awkward and said to Wen Jia, "Jiajia, it's getting late. You should go home first. We'll take good care of your sister."

Wen Lin also said, "Jiajia, you have to go to work tomorrow, so go home and rest early. I'm all set here."

Wen Jia then gave a few more instructions and left the hospital.

When she was almost home, she received a call from the rehabilitation hospital.

"Ms. Wenjia? There are vacancies at the rehabilitation hospital. Can you check in tomorrow?"
