Baby! Be good! Don't be afraid! Your husband isn't a wild animal!

Chapter 20 Gu Zhihua must have been dead long ago, right?

The next day.

There was a knock on Gu Zhihua's door.

She opened the door, and a maid stood in the doorway. "Miss Gu, Fourth Master asked me to invite you downstairs for breakfast."

"Okay, I'll wash up and change and then go downstairs," she said.

The maid went downstairs to report first, and Gu Zhihua came downstairs after washing up and getting dressed.

Upon entering the dining room, I saw Mo Yeting dressed in a formal suit, leisurely eating breakfast.

I have to say, this man is really handsome; even while eating breakfast, he exudes a captivating charm.

"Sit down and have breakfast." He glanced at Gu Zhihua.

"Oh." She obediently sat down opposite him.

The maid prepared a breakfast and placed it in front of her. "Miss Gu, please enjoy your meal."

"Thank you," she said politely, and began to eat her breakfast.

A short while later.

Leng Yan walked in, carrying a paper bag. He placed the box from the bag on the table and put the SIM card and ID card on top of it. "Miss Gu, this is the cell phone that Fourth Master prepared for you. I have already replaced your ID card and SIM card."

"Thank you for your help, Brother Leng Yan," she said politely.

Leng Yan instantly sensed something was wrong; he felt a chilling aura rushing towards him.

He secretly glanced at his master and noticed that his master's face had visibly darkened, his handsome face almost turning to ice. It was truly a disaster that had struck out of nowhere. Miss Gu herself called him Brother Leng Yan, who knew why she was suddenly being so polite? He was innocent! He roared inwardly.

He quickly spoke up, his survival instincts kicking in, "Miss Gu, you're too kind. Just call me by my name from now on. This phone was specially chosen for you by Fourth Master. You should thank him for his thoughtfulness."

Does his saying that mean he can salvage something? Shouldn't his master be calmed down now?

He stole another glance at Mo Yeting. Fortunately, his complexion had improved. He didn't want to die young; he didn't want to become part of their play.

"Thank you, Fourth Master." Gu Zhihua didn't like calling him A-Ting by such an intimate name yet, so she casually called him Fourth Master without thinking anything of it.

Leng Yan was truly at a loss for words. He saw his master's face turn cold again. Was Miss Gu doing this on purpose this morning? Didn't Fourth Master say he should call him A-Ting?

"Fourth Master?" Mo Yeting's displeased voice came through.

Gu Zhihua looked over and noticed his dark expression. Realizing something, she quickly changed her words, "Thank you, Ah Ting."

She called out awkwardly.

Mo Yeting was finally satisfied. He gently wiped his lips with a tissue, stood up, and said, "Stay home, I'm going to the company."

Leng Yan breathed a sigh of relief and followed him out.

Gu Zhihua finished eating, put down her cutlery, picked up the box on the table, and opened it.

It turned out to be the latest model of an Apple phone. This phone is very expensive, and she had never been willing to buy it before.

She thought of Song Mianmian showing off the latest iPhone in front of her, and she smiled sarcastically. She was their biological daughter, yet their favoritism was so obvious. New clothes, new phones, everything was given to Song Mianmian, while they were indifferent to her.

She wasn't greedy for the things they bought for her; she just felt heartbroken.

She inserted the SIM card into the phone, turned it on, set it up, and downloaded some commonly used apps.

Song family.

The Song family is having breakfast.

The butler entered the dining room. "Master and Madam, there are visitors outside. They say they are... Miss Zhihua's adoptive parents."

Song Mianmian paused, her hand holding the spoon still. Why were those despicable adoptive parents here? Did they discover Gu Zhihua's disappearance?

"What are they doing here? Did they send that wild girl back after she went back?" Jiang Yao asked with a look of disgust.

"Madam, Miss Gu didn't come; it was just the two of them," the butler replied.

"Bring them to the living room. I want to see what they're here for," Song Henian ordered.

"Yes, sir." The butler turned and left.

The manor gate.

Seeing the huge manor, Liang Yulan felt comforted. "Old Gu, this manor is very big and beautiful. Zhihua was born to be a rich young lady, and this is the life she should live. I am really happy for Zhihua that she has found her biological parents."

"Yes, this is the kind of life she should be living. We haven't seen Zhihua for more than two months. I wonder if she's getting used to living here and if the food suits her taste. This time we brought some local specialties from our hometown. She'll definitely be very happy." Gu Yuanshan's face showed the doting affection of a loving father.

"Look at you, you're overthinking it. Zhihua has eaten all sorts of delicacies here. She's just suffering with us," Liang Yulan teased her husband.

The butler came over and opened the door. "Come in with me."

"Okay," they both said with a laugh in unison.

They were led to the villa's living room, where the butler said, "Please wait a moment, I'll go and call the master and madam."

The butler entered the dining room to report, while Jiang Yao leisurely ate her breakfast. "No rush, let them wait."

A hint of nervousness flashed in Song Mianmian's eyes. What were they doing here? Had they really discovered that Gu Zhihua was missing?

The butler had no choice but to go out and ask them to wait a moment.

More than twenty minutes later.

The family of three slowly walked out of the dining room.

Jiang Yao saw them and covered her nose in disgust. "What are you carrying? It looks so dirty."

The couple looked over and guessed that these must be Zhihua's biological parents. They didn't know who the girl next to them was, and they couldn't see Gu Zhihua.

"Oh, Mr. Song, Mrs. Song, is this your first time visiting Zhihua? I wonder what gift you should bring. This is a specialty from our hometown; it tastes delicious."

"Who cares about the food you poor bastards eat? Throw it all away. Who knows how many bacteria are in it?" Jiang Yao pulled Song Mianmian to sit on the sofa.

Gu Yuanshan hadn't expected Madam Song to speak so harshly. He had lived an upright life and had never suffered such an insult. So what if they were poor? At least they lived by their own efforts and had never begged them for a meal.

But when he thought that these were Gu Zhihua's biological parents, he suppressed his anger. For his daughter, he was willing to suffer.

Liang Yulan knew her husband's personality and was afraid he would get angry, so she tugged at his sleeve and said, "Old Gu, Mrs. Song probably doesn't like the taste of our local specialties. Let's take them outside and leave them there."

After Liang Yulan finished speaking, she took the things outside and then came back.

"By the way, where is Zhihua?" Liang Yuqin asked.

"Gu Zhihua? Didn't she go back to your place in a huff? What kind of charade are you putting on? Are you regretting it and don't want to stay there anymore, so you want to come back?" Jiang Yao knew that no one would want to live a bad life.

"What did you say? You said Zhihua left?" Gu Yuanshan asked anxiously.

"Stop acting, we've been gone for days." Jiang Yao rolled her eyes at them.

"Why did Zhihua leave in a huff? She didn't go back at all." Liang Yulan also became anxious.

A cold glint flashed in Song Mianmian's eyes; Gu Zhihua was long dead.
