Red Dragon, but chosen by all four gods

Chapter 18 Three Hatchlings

Two weeks later, at the Dragon's Nest.

"Click..."

"Snap!"

The sound of eggshells cracking echoed alternately throughout the cave.

"My true name is Maglen Calonnis!" A male blue dragon hatchling crawled out of its egg.

"My true name is Mortar Gould!" A female green dragon hatchling crawled out of her egg.

"My true name is Faldom Morak!" A female black dragon hatchling crawled out of her egg.

After the three cubs announced the dragon's true name, they looked at each other.

Generally speaking, most of the five-colored dragons fight alone and do not form social networks.

Different dragon species hatching together is most likely to occur in blue dragon herds that act in family-like formations.

Therefore, they all began to search for the large dragon that was guarding the cubs.

Immediately, they noticed the mountain-like golden light before them.

A golden dragon!

The three-headed baby dragon's vision went black, and it was hatched by a vengeful golden dragon. Could there be a more tragic ending?

The green dragon, cunning by nature and adept at reading people and currying favor, immediately pressed its chest and belly against the stone platform, its wings tucked tightly against its body, and its head pressed firmly against the ground, pleading in the utmost humility:

"O Supreme Golden Dragon Lord, I swear by the true name of the dragon to serve you for life, only begging for your mercy on this newborn dragon and to spare my life."

Seeing this, the golden dragon's eyes revealed a hint of disgust, and then it turned its gaze to the other two fledgling dragons.

The blue dragon and the black dragon cub felt the golden dragon's gaze and felt their scales stand on end. They quickly lay down and, like the green dragon, swore to follow him and beg for their lives.

However, the golden dragon sitting high on the throne did not respond to their words.

The next moment, a powerful and intense golden light burst forth in the cave, and the three-headed dragon instantly lost its sight, its body floating uncontrollably into the air.

Immediately afterwards, an unstoppable penetrating force reached their souls, as if it knew everything about them.

Soon, the golden light receded like a tide, and the three-headed dragon hatchlings fell among the shattered eggshells, like three pieces of trash.

"An evil soul..."

A disappointed sigh came from the throne.

"Makaros".

"Yes." The tall dragonborn appeared at the cave entrance and walked towards the marble platform.

The three-headed dragon hatchlings seemed to sense impending doom, but they were powerless to resist. They could only huddle together, trembling, and helplessly await their end.

Just then, an untimely call broke the almost frozen atmosphere.

"Mother!"

A red shadow flew across the marble countertop.

The three fledgling dragons looked up and were shocked to see that it was a fledgling dragon just like them, and it was the most evil and brutal red dragon among the five-colored dragons!

However, to their great surprise, upon seeing the arrival of the little red dragon, the indifferent golden dragon suddenly flashed with golden light and transformed into human form.

Then he opened his arms and hugged the little red dragon tightly.

"Heroes, my dear son, your arrival always brings me relief from disappointment."

Upon seeing this, the three fledgling dragons looked at each other in bewilderment.

What's going on? A golden dragon is calling a red dragon cub his son, and they're being so affectionate...

A glint flashed in Motar's eyes, and she almost immediately deduced the truth.

The golden dragon seemed to be performing some kind of ritual with the five-colored dragon, which I obviously did not pass.

However, this red dragon must have used some method to pass the golden dragon's test, deceived the golden dragon, and gained the golden dragon's trust.

They can even grovel and call her "mother"!

That's despicable! No wonder he's one of the three upper dragons, the Red Dragon. He's a role model for us all!

Mortal believed that if he could find out how the little red dragon passed the test, he might have a glimmer of hope. What could it be...?

……

On the throne, Seraria reluctantly released her grip.

She noticed that in just one month, Heros had grown considerably, and his muscles and bones had become more powerful.

This truly delighted her; Heros was growing up at a rate that was almost catching up to how she had grown up when she was young.

Heros grimaced and moved his limbs and dragon wings, as if he could hear the sound of his own bones grinding together.

The power attribute granted by "Crimson" was completely insignificant in front of Seraria.

He came today mainly to see if there were any new developments in Seralia's ceremony.

The last attempt to modify the white dragon Anglu failed. This time, he will directly modify the three-headed hatchling. If successful, his status will be shared with the three-headed hatchling.

If that's the case, he'd rather it be Anglu who gets purified.

Fortunately, Seraria's ritual had not yet achieved any significant results, which relieved him.

At the same time, he

"Mother, the three baby dragons for this ceremony..."

"Heros, you want to take these baby dragons away again, don't you?"

Seraria seemed to know what Heros was thinking, and said gently but firmly:

"I could let go of the white-scaled dragon last time, but these three fledgling dragons are not only evil in spirit, but also too cunning, especially the green dragon. For your safety, I cannot agree to such a request."

Upon hearing this, Heros didn't immediately explain, but instead turned around and called out, "Anglu!"

Following the shouts, the three baby dragons waiting to be slaughtered turned around and saw a dirty white baby dragon running happily into the cave.

Then, seemingly out of fear of the golden dragon, it cowered and remained in a position far from the throne.

"Heros, have you given up on purifying him?"

Seraria smiled. Heros's persistence was a bit short-lived. The first time she wanted to turn over a new leaf, it took her a full five years to lock up a villain.

"No, Mother, I think he has changed, at least some of his ways."

"Anglu, show your mother how you've changed."

"I am a kind white dragon," Anglu said weakly.

Seraria shook her head slightly: "Heros, changes in the soul cannot be seen with words alone."

"I think things have changed a lot. He even saved two innocent mortals."

"What rescue? How could there be mortals near the dragon's nest?"

Macaros chimed in at the opportune moment, "Master, Young Master Heros sneaked out of the Dragon's Nest half a month ago and went to the mortal territory for a few days of fun."

"What! How could you sneak out? What if you get into danger...?"

Heros's keen mental power sensed that all the elements inside and outside the cave were trembling slightly.

It seems Seraria is really angry.

"Mother, I was wrong." Heros lowered his head, looking as if he was about to be reprimanded.

Seeing that Heros didn't dare to look up, but still glanced at her pitiful appearance out of the corner of his eye, Seraria's anger subsided considerably.

Oh my god, he is so cute and well-behaved.

Even if he sneaks off to misbehave among mortals while she's performing a ceremony, Seraria still believes he's a good boy.

When I was a kid, I often ran away from home, didn't I?

Especially when compared to the other four evil scumbags in front of him.

"It's good that you know you're wrong. I definitely won't let you off so easily next time." Seraria symbolically tapped the little red dragon's head, as if to punish him.

Heros breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly steered the conversation back on track: "Mother, could you please take a look and see if this white dragon has changed?"

"Okay." Seraria affectionately rubbed the spot she had just tapped.

Just to make Heros give up, she shifted her gaze to Anglu, who was cowering beneath the throne.

A powerful and intense golden light shone again in the cave, and Heros and the three young dragons that had already experienced it all closed their eyes.

Only Anglu completely forgot his previous experience and was caught off guard, blinded by the golden light, groaning in pain.

"Huh? What's going on...?"
