Crossover Anime: The King of Time? Actually, He's a Slacker!

Chapter 19 Fairness and Justice Lin Shiye

Church hall.

When Shirou Emiya saw Lin Shiya and his group come out, he quickly got up and went to greet them.

Saber and Rin Tohsaka were observing Mei Zhen, who was sitting leisurely on a throne behind Lin Shiye.

Kind-hearted citizen Jin Shanshan... I wonder where he's been gallivanting off to again.

"Is it over, Tokiyo?" Emiya Shirou asked with concern.

"Okay, let's go back and rest." Lin Shiye said, then raised his hands and proudly showed Mei Zhen to everyone.

"Let me introduce you to my servant, Komei. Let's get along well from now on!"

Seeing that all eyes were on her, Mei Zhen coughed lightly and nodded to everyone.

After a brief introduction, Rin Tohsaka grabbed Shirou Emiya's shoulder.

The latter's body stiffened.

"Well then, Emiya-kun." Rin Tohsaka smiled, her eyes crinkling, but a dangerous glint flashed in them.

"It's time to settle things between us. You haven't forgotten, have you?"

"Haha... Look how dark it is." Shirou Emiya's forehead was covered in cold sweat, and he unconsciously took a step back.

"How about... how about we talk about it another day? Tohsaka, look, everyone's tired..."

"Stop talking nonsense! Come out with me!" Rin Tohsaka didn't give him a chance to escape, grabbing his arm and dragging him out of the church.

Kirei Kotomine stood to the side and sighed helplessly.

Mei Zhen turned her head, wanting to see how her master would resolve the matter, but unexpectedly, Lin Shiye had already followed her eagerly.

We went outside.

In the open space outside the church, the evening breeze swirled up fallen leaves.

Rin Tohsaka and Shirou Emiya stood facing each other.

Saber had long since shed her everyday clothes, donning gleaming silver armor, the invisible pressure of her holy sword swirling in the air. Karna also appeared beside Tohsaka, his golden spear trembling slightly in his hand, its tip pointing towards the night sky.

The duel between swords and guns was about to begin, and the air seemed to freeze.

Just then—

"Wait!" Lin Shiye stepped forward and stood between the two sides.

"Lin-kun, is there something you need?" Rin Tohsaka asked.

"This is a proper one-on-one duel. Even as the hunter, you can't just interfere, can you?"

"You've misunderstood, Tohsaka-san." Lin Shiye opened his arms and revealed a pleasant smile.

"I'm not trying to stop you, but I've come up with a more interesting way to play."

"Fighting and killing are no good, let's have a competition!"

"A...a competition?" Shirou Emiya blinked in confusion.

Artoria and Karna also looked over in confusion.

"Then I hereby declare the Great Eating Contest officially open!" Lin Shiye shouted.

As soon as the words were spoken, the surrounding scenery suddenly distorted. The evening breeze, the starry sky, and the open space all disappeared, and in the blink of an eye, everyone was back in the church hall.

Two brand-new stainless steel stoves suddenly appeared in front of Rin Tohsaka and Shirou Emiya, while the counter next to them was piled high with a dazzling array of ingredients, from chicken, duck, fish, meat to vegetables and fruits, all so fresh that they looked as if they had just been brought back from the market.

Meanwhile, Lin Shiye, Mei Zhen, and Kotomine Kirei were already sitting properly on the makeshift judges' table.

Artoria's ahoge (antenna-like hair sticking up) suddenly stood on end, and Karna also showed a rare look of astonishment. Shirou Emiya and Rin Tohsaka froze on the spot, staring blankly at the stove in front of them, their minds completely blank.

What... what are they trying to do?

"The first challenge is a contest between Masters," Lin Shiye said, resting his chin on his hands with a deep expression.

"Each of the two contestants will prepare one of their signature dishes, which will then be tasted by three judges. The contestant with the highest score will win!"

"Wait a minute! Who wants to participate in this ridiculous competition?!" Rin Tohsaka finally realized what was happening and jumped up in anger.

"I want to fight him fair and square!"

"Protest denied!" Lin Shiye said.

"Lin-kun, isn't it a bit disrespectful to God to light a fire and cook in a sacred church..." Kirei Kotomine was interrupted by Mei Zhen's cold voice halfway through her sentence.

"It's alright."

Kirei Kotomine fell silent. Even the archangel didn't seem to care, so what could he possibly say?

"Can I eat it?" Artoria asked.

"No, you're the next level. This level is for serving dishes." Lin Shiye refused without hesitation.

"Oh." Artoria's ahoge (cowlick) drooped down.

"Alright, let the match begin!" Lin Shiye gave the order.

"Servants are not allowed to help!"

"Wait..." Rin Tohsaka was getting a little anxious, but seeing that Shirou Emiya had already sat down, she was flustered and confused.

"Keep it up, Master," Karna encouraged.

"This is also part of the battle!"

"Ugh—it really is!" Rin Tohsaka exclaimed in exasperation as she began picking out vegetables.

Time passed by, and Shirou Emiya performed as expected, finishing first. He made roasted bamboo shoots with milk sauce, and as soon as it was served, the rich aroma of milk and the sweetness of bamboo shoots wafted over.

Lin Shiye and the other two tasted the food in turn, and then raised their plaques.

Lin Shiye: Awesome!

Mei Zhen: Delicious!

Kirei Kotomine: 10/10!

Artoria was drooling with envy; she had been wanting to eat the dishes ever since they were served.

"Alright!" Rin Tohsaka wiped the sweat from her forehead and handed the dishes to Karna.

She made cheesy mashed potatoes. After serving it, the three of them tasted it again and then shook their heads in unison.

Lin Shiye: I'm done!

Mei Zhen: Generally speaking.

Kirei Kotomine: 8 points.

"It's a conspiracy! This is a conspiracy!" Rin Tohsaka pointed at Shiya Lin and shouted angrily.

"How dare you!" Lin Shiye slammed his fist on the table and stood up, his face full of righteous indignation.

"Who doesn't know that I, Lin Shiye, am the most fair and just person!"

"Ms. Tohsaka, your cooking is actually quite good, but it caters too much to your own tastes and doesn't take into account the general public's acceptance," Mei Zhen gave a serious evaluation.

Rin Tohsaka was at her wit's end.

"Then the winner of the first round is Emiya Shirou," Lin Shiye continued.

"The second round begins: the eating contest! All servants, please take your seats!"

Artoria sat down at the table without looking back, her eyes sparkling.

"Shirou, Tohsaka, you two are in charge of serving the dishes!" Lin Shiye took off his coat, tied on an apron with a bear pattern, and strode to the huge stove in the center.

"I'll be in charge of all the food. The rules are simple: no time limit, whoever eats the most is the ultimate winner!"

"Are you alone?" Rin Tohsaka looked him up and down suspiciously.

"With so many ingredients, can you handle all of them? Don't make us wait."

"Who do you think you are?" Lin Shiye rolled up his sleeves, revealing a confident smile.

"Eat as much as you like, my culinary skills are beyond your reach."

"How dare you not invite me to such an interesting banquet? You bunch of scoundrels, I really need to control you properly!" Gilgamesh returned from his stroll and witnessed this scene, immediately enraging the king.

"Those not involved, please stay away from the competition area," Mei Zhen said without looking up.

"What?" Jin Shanshan was immediately displeased.

"My willingness to participate is a favor to you bunch of scoundrels, so don't be ungrateful!"

Jin Shanshan wanted to cause more trouble, but Lin Shiye slapped her and put her to sleep.

Kirei Kotomine silently got up and dragged him away.

"Alright, let's continue the game!" Lin Shiye said and started operating the machine, his hands waving rapidly, so fast that only afterimages could be seen.

Soon, two identical dishes were served.

Emiya and Tohsaka fell silent. Why was this dish emitting golden light?

Artoria and Karna immediately took a bite, then simultaneously put down their utensils and closed their eyes.

"W-what's wrong?" Rin Tohsaka asked, puzzled. Did it not taste good?

That shouldn't be the case; it looks so good.

"I see," Karna said, opening his eyes first, his expression serious.

"Such delicious food deserves my utmost respect. In this battle, I will give it my all and hold nothing back!"

"How dare you! I will be the final victor!" Artoria opened her eyes, her gaze burning with fierce fighting spirit.

"Well then, let's go, King of Knights!" Karna picked up his cutlery, ready to pounce.

"Is your stomach still well-stocked?"

"Heh, don't look down on me, Lancer!" Artoria retorted sharply.
