Reborn in 2006, I met Mr. Zhou from the past.

Chapter 179 The Promise for Tomorrow

The two arrived at the study and quickly located Zhang Wenhao's window seat. Zhang Xinrui stepped forward and gently placed the still-warm pastries and hot drink in front of him, her tone affectionate and coquettish: "Brother, here... for you."

"Hello, Brother Zhang." Su Fengnan greeted him politely from the side.

"Hmm." Zhang Wenhao nodded slightly in response, looking up from the book and casually asked, "The shop must be very busy during the holiday?"

"It's alright, I can manage," Su Fengnan replied softly, her gaze sweeping around the shop. Not seeing Ning Xiaojun, a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes, then she said to the siblings, "You two sit down for a bit, wait for me..."

Before she finished speaking, she turned around and walked quickly toward the front desk, leaving behind only a slightly hurried silhouette.

The brother and sister who remained in place exchanged a glance, both completely bewildered and clueless.

At the front desk, Su Fengnan lowered her voice and asked, "Manager, have you seen the girl who came in with me earlier? Did you see her leave?"

Upon recognizing Su Fengnan, the store manager immediately replied respectfully, "I haven't seen her go out; she should still be upstairs."

"Okay, thank you."

After receiving a reply, Su Fengnan turned and went upstairs. The light on the second floor was much softer than downstairs, and she quickly found the person in a quiet corner.

Ning Xiaojun was curled up on the soft sofa, engrossed in a recently popular novel, completely unaware of the commotion around her.

Su Fengnan walked over quietly, and seeing her entranced expression, she couldn't help but smile and softly called out, "Jun Jun, why did you come upstairs?"

Hearing the voice, Ning Xiaojun looked up from between the pages of her book and realized that Su Fengnan had quietly stood in front of her at some point. She neatly closed her book, sat up straight, and smiled, "Finished?"

"Pretty much." Su Fengnan gestured with her chin, her tone light and cheerful. "Come on, let me introduce you to a new friend, she's downstairs."

"Great!" Ning Xiaojun's eyes lit up. She happily got up and carefully put the book back in its place. Then she naturally took Su Fengnan's arm, and the two chatted and laughed as they walked downstairs.

In the downstairs lounge area, the Zhang siblings were talking quietly, praising the unique decor of the bookstore. Suddenly, Zhang Xinrui looked up and saw Su Fengnan leading a girl slowly towards them.

Zhang Xinrui blinked curiously and whispered to the person opposite her, "Brother, is that Feng Nan's friend?"

Zhang Wenhao turned his head and his gaze paused slightly—he recognized at a glance the girl next to Su Fengnan as the one who had accidentally bumped into him by the bookshelf earlier. He didn't answer his sister directly, but instead sighed meaningfully, "This world... really is small."

"What? Brother, what are you muttering about?" Zhang Xinrui was completely confused and turned to her brother with a puzzled look.

Before Zhang Wenhao could explain, Su Fengnan and Ning Xiaojun had already walked to the table.

Su Fengnan introduced them gracefully: "Xinrui, Brother Zhang, this is my classmate and my best friend, Ning Xiaojun." After saying that, she turned to the girl beside her and introduced her softly, "Junjun, this is Zhang Xinrui, and this is her brother, Brother Zhang."

"Hello..." Ning Xiaojun had a round, endearing baby face, and her smile was bright and cheerful. But when her gaze inadvertently met Zhang Wenhao's, her previously open eyes suddenly darted away, a blush quickly spreading across her fair cheeks, and even her voice softened a bit: "Hello, Brother Zhang..."

Zhang Wenhao nodded slightly, his voice low and gentle: "Hello."

After exchanging greetings, Su Fengnan pulled Ning Xiaojun to sit down at the table. The three girls, who were about the same age, quickly started chatting away, creating a lively atmosphere. Zhang Wenhao didn't disturb them, but sat quietly to the side, occasionally taking a sip of his hot drink, silently playing the role of their protector.

Somehow the conversation drifted to tomorrow's travel plans, and Zhang Xinrui's eyes lit up immediately. She raised her hand to join in: "You can't leave me out tomorrow! I want to go too! Besides, I know my area best, I can be your free guide!"

"It's good..." A hint of concern flashed in Su Fengnan's eyes, and she couldn't help but ask softly, "But will your parents agree?" She knew that Zhang's parents had always been strict, and Zhang Xinrui always had to be accompanied by her brother when she went out.

"Oh, what's so difficult about that!" Zhang Xinrui smiled slyly, then turned her gaze to her brother, clasping her hands together and pleading, "Just let my brother come with us, okay? Brother—just bear with it a little, and set aside half a day tomorrow to spend time with your lovely little sister!"

Under his sister's watchful gaze, Zhang Wenhao felt a little troubled. It wasn't that he didn't want to take Zhang Xinrui along, but a group of girls traveling together should be a relaxed and carefree get-together where they could talk about anything. If a grown man were to accompany them, aside from the possibility of him feeling awkward, it would inevitably disrupt the intimate atmosphere that belonged to the girls.

But looking at Zhang Xinrui's expectant face, he really couldn't bring himself to refuse, and for a moment he was caught in a dilemma.

At this moment, Zhang Xinrui leaned over again, tugged at his sleeve and shook it, pleading, "Brother, if you don't go tomorrow, we won't even have a means of transportation, it'll be so inconvenient! Just bear with it and be our personal driver for a day, okay?"

Upon hearing the word "driver," Su Fengnan's heart stirred slightly, and her initial concerns dissipated considerably. Indeed, since everyone's destinations were scattered, having a reliable guy drive them around would not only save the trouble of taking a taxi but also ensure safety. Thinking about it that way, it didn't seem like a bad idea.

She looked at Zhang Wenhao and said in a light tone, "Yes, if Brother Zhang happens to be on vacation tomorrow, why don't we go together? Just do us a favor."

Since Su Fengnan had taken the initiative to offer a way out, Zhang Wenhao naturally couldn't refuse any longer. He looked at Zhang Xin and shook his head helplessly, then had no choice but to compromise, saying, "Okay, I'll do as you say. I'll be your driver tomorrow."

And so, after finalizing their itinerary for the next day, it was just time for dinner. Night fell outside the window, the city lights began to twinkle, and the neon lights of the city gradually illuminated the scene. Zhang Wenhao treated the three young women to a steaming hot pot meal. Laughter and cheerful conversation filled the room until the night deepened, at which point they all went home.

That night, Su Fengnan and Ning Xiaojun slept in one room, while Su Fengxia and Yanzi slept in the other.

In the stillness of the night, only a dim bedside lamp remained lit in the room. The two lay side by side on the bed, and the conversation naturally turned to the Zhang siblings. Su Fengnan spoke calmly, recounting in a lighthearted manner how she had first met them.

After hearing these words, Ning Xiaojun was stunned. She couldn't help but turn over to face her and inquire about Zhang Wenhao's situation, intentionally or unintentionally.
