The apartment building is not tall, and its exterior is light beige.

Ahead was a small patch of grass with a few white benches.

Further inside, there is a glass door.

Outside the glass door, people were already waiting.

He is Chang Liren.

He wasn't wearing the shirt he wore in the data center last night; instead, he had changed into a well-fitting dark gray suit, with a light trench coat over it to keep out the morning breeze.

Chang Liren didn't put on the exaggerated airs of welcoming a major client; he simply stood quietly at the door, hands behind his back, watching the pure black hovercar slowly come to a stop.

Yu Wen was somewhat surprised.

He had only spoken with Chang Liren a few times through his personal terminal, and he thought that it would be enough for the other party to send an assistant today. After all, this was the president of Weiguang, and the aftermath of the entire platform's events from the previous night was still weighing on his shoulders. He didn't need to make a personal trip just to "pick up two people to check in".

But Chang Liren was right there.

The driver unfolded the accessible platform again and personally pushed Yu Wen's wheelchair down.

Chang Liren stepped forward, bent down, and smiled at Yu Wen. "Teacher Yu, was your journey smooth?"

He didn't reach out to help push the wheelchair; he simply turned slightly to the side and gestured for it to proceed.

"Everything inside is ready. Please take a look. If there's anything you don't like, we'll make changes anytime."

He turned his head again, nodded gently to Yu Yin, took a small box from his assistant, and handed it to her.

"Little sister, you must be tired from the journey. This is for you and your brother. You can open it inside."

The box wasn't big, and it was tied with a light pink ribbon.

Yu Yin took it blankly, and subconsciously glanced at her brother. In all her life, no one had ever handed her something so solemnly.

Chang Liren didn't exchange many pleasantries, and turned to lead the brother and sister towards the glass door.

The apartment is on the first floor.

The door opened, and a very light, faint scent of wood wafted out.

The floor is a clean, light-colored wood grain.

The window faces south, with no curtains drawn, a full-length glass wall, and outside is a real lawn and real trees.

The living room contained only a few essential pieces of furniture: a light gray sofa, a wooden coffee table, and an empty low bookshelf against the wall.

A middle-aged female housekeeper was already waiting inside.

She greeted the brother and sister with a gentle smile, and without saying anything unnecessary, she simply whispered to Chang Liren, "Everything is settled."

"Teacher Yu."

Chang Liren stepped aside and made way for them to enter the room:

"This is Aunt Zhang. She will be helping you and your sister with your daily life in this apartment from now on. She can cook, clean, and run errands. She is a core executive of the platform and has signed a confidentiality agreement, so you can rest assured."

"Aunt Zhang is very meticulous. Just tell her what you and the little girl want to eat or what you don't like to eat."

He paused for a moment, then pointed to the two bedrooms inside.

"I asked Aunt Zhang to leave the sunny room for the little girl. Aunt Zhang picked out the potted plant on the windowsill herself this morning after going to the flower market. She said the little girl's room needs something alive."

Yu Yin hugged the small box with the pink ribbon, looked up, glanced at the sunny bedroom, and then at Aunt Zhang.

Yu Wen gazed at all of this and remained silent for a moment.

"General Manager Chang."

He raised his head and looked at Chang Liren:

"Thank you for your trouble."

Chang Liren waved his hand:

"You and your sister settle in first. If there's anything inconvenient in the house, tell Aunt Zhang, and she'll fix it if she can."

He paused, shifted his gaze from Yu Wen, and looked out the south-facing floor-to-ceiling window.

"Teacher Yu, there's something I need to tell you."

"Someone wants to come and see you this afternoon."

Yu Wen raised an eyebrow. "Who?"

"Our Regional Director for the West Coast region at Microlight."

Chang Liren smiled:

"He set off from headquarters on the West Coast before dawn today, and he should be halfway there by now."

Yu Wen paused slightly when he heard the words "West Coast Region".

He is still slowly processing all the memories of this world in his mind.

He knew that the world was a complete federation, with their super-large region, which had been folded for a hundred years, to the east, and another large region called the "West Coast" to the west, where English was the main language. It was not uncommon for people to travel between the two sides.

Similar to the world of my previous life, foreign faces are everywhere on the streets of major cities, but in remote and backward small towns and mountain villages, people may never meet a foreigner in their entire lives.

That's exactly what happened in that pile of radioactive dust and scrap metal in the lower city.

And now, a regional director from over there has come over overnight to see him?

Yu Wen was a little confused.

"...What does he want to do?"

Chang Liren didn't spell it out, he just smiled:

"When he arrives, you can hear what he has to say."

"If you feel tired today, I'll have him come another day. If it's convenient, I'll have him come this afternoon."

Yu Wen gazed at the real, sun-drenched meadow outside the window and remained silent for a moment.

He was indeed tired, but since the West Coast regional director had flown over overnight, it wouldn't be right for him to postpone it to another day.

"fine."

He looked away. "Let him do it."

Chang Liren nodded gently, "Okay, then you and the little sister should rest for a while."

After saying that, he nodded to Aunt Zhang, turned around and left.

The glass door clicked shut gently.
