The handwriting is that of the stepmother.

Han Yingying tore off the note, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the trash can.

She opened the refrigerator, where vegetables and meat were neatly arranged. She took out a carton of eggs, intending to fry one.

While frying the eggs, she suddenly remembered what happened in the dungeon.

The young man said that the core of the game lies in the S-level dungeons.

But how did she get back to reality?

Has the dungeon ended?

No, the dungeon isn't over yet. She remembered clearly that Zhou Lang said he was going to an S-rank dungeon, and then…

Then she woke up.

Han Yingying turned off the stove and stared at the eggs in the pot.

The eggs were fried until golden brown, with the edges slightly curled up.

She suddenly felt that the egg was very strange.

so perfect.

She had never fried such perfect eggs before.

Han Yingying put down the spatula and walked out of the kitchen. She walked around the living room, checking every corner.

No exception.

She went upstairs and pushed open her stepmother's door. The room was very clean, the bed was neatly made, and the curtains were drawn.

She then pushed open her stepsister's door. The room was a mess, with clothes scattered everywhere and plush toys piled on the bed.

Everything is normal.

But Han Yingying just felt something was wrong.

She returned to her room, turned on her computer, and logged into the game forum.

There are many posts on the forum discussing the recent dungeon. Some people say they encountered a new ghost, some say they discovered a hidden quest, and others are looking for a group.

Han Yingying flipped through a few pages but didn't see any posts about the Horror Manor.

She searched for "Horror Manor" and found no results.

Han Yingying frowned.

impossible.

That manor is so big, and so many players have been inside, how could no one be discussing it?

She searched for "kill the butler" again, but still found no results.

Han Yingying turned off the computer and lay down on the bed.

My mind is a mess.

She thought of Zhou Lang from the dungeon.

He said he was going to an S-rank instance, but she returned to reality.

What does this mean?

Does this mean the dungeon is over?

Or does it mean... she's been kicked out?

Han Yingying closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down.

My phone suddenly rang.

She picked up her phone and saw a message from a friend:

"Yingying, shall we have dinner together tonight? It's been so long."

Han Yingying replied: "Okay, what time?"

Six o'clock, the usual place.

"OK."

Han Yingying put down her phone and looked at the ceiling.

At six o'clock in the evening, Han Yingying arrived at the restaurant on time.

Her friend was already waiting for her; she was a short-haired girl named Lin Xiaoyu.

"Yingying!" Lin Xiaoyu waved.

Han Yingying walked over and sat down opposite her.

"Long time no see," Lin Xiaoyu said. "How have you been?"

"It's alright," Han Yingying said. "How about you?"

"Me? I'm still the same as always," Lin Xiaoyu smiled. "By the way, have you been playing that game lately?"

"What game?"

"It's that horror game," Lin Xiaoyu said. "I heard it's really popular, and I want to try it too."

Han Yingying was taken aback: "You haven't played it before?"

"No," Lin Xiaoyu said. "I'm too scared to play. But I heard you played it really well, so I wanted to ask you."

Han Yingying stared at her for a long while before finally speaking: "Are you sure you've never played this before?"

"I'm sure." Lin Xiaoyu looked at her strangely. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Han Yingying said. "I just... never mind, it's fine."

The two ordered food and chatted as they ate.

Lin Xiaoyu talked a lot about recent events, including work troubles, family matters, and her new boyfriend.

Han Yingying listened, occasionally responding with a few words.

Her attention wasn't on that.

She was thinking about the copy.

Lin Xiaoyu said she had never played the game, but Han Yingying remembered very clearly that Lin Xiaoyu died in her first dungeon run.

She saw it with her own eyes.

Lin Xiaoyu was dragged into the darkness by a ghost, her screams echoing in the corridor.

But now, Lin Xiaoyu is sitting right in front of her, talking about her new boyfriend.

This isn't right.

"Yingying, are you listening?" Lin Xiaoyu asked.

"Huh? I'm listening." Han Yingying snapped out of her daze.

"What's wrong with you today?" Lin Xiaoyu asked. "You seem distracted."

"It's nothing, I'm just a little tired."

"Then go home and get some rest," Lin Xiaoyu said. "By the way, my boyfriend wants to invite you to dinner next weekend. Are you free?"

"Next weekend..." Han Yingying thought for a moment, "Let's talk about it later, I'm not sure if I'll be free."

"Okay, I'll contact you then."

After finishing their meal, the two parted ways.

Han Yingying walked home, her mind a complete mess.

Lin Xiaoyu's situation made her even more certain that there was a problem with reality.

But what's the problem?

She couldn't figure it out.

When I got home, my stepmother and stepsister were already back.

"Yingying, have you eaten?" her stepmother asked.

"I ate," Han Yingying said.

"That's good." The stepmother smiled. "By the way, we're going to your grandmother's house tomorrow. Do you want to come along?"

"I'm not going," Han Yingying said. "I have something to do."

"Alright," the stepmother said, not pressuring him further.

Han Yingying returned to her room and closed the door.

She sat on the bed, staring at the wall.

Several photos were pasted on the wall, all of them group photos of her and her family.

There was her and her stepmother, her and her stepsister, and her and her deceased father.

Han Yingying stared at her father's photo and suddenly felt that something was wrong.

The father in the photo is smiling, smiling very happily.

But she remembered that her father rarely smiled before he passed away.

He always looked worried, both about work and household expenses.

Han Yingying stood up and walked to the photo.

She looked closely at her father's face, and the more she looked, the more unfamiliar he seemed.

Is this really her father?

She reached out and touched the photo; the moment her fingertips touched the glass, the photo suddenly changed.

The father's smile vanished, replaced by a distorted face.

Han Yingying was so frightened that she took a step back, and the photo returned to normal.

She rubbed her eyes, thinking she must have seen wrong.

But she knew she hadn't misjudged.

There's a problem with this reality.

Han Yingying lay on the bed with her eyes closed.

She wanted to go back to the instance.

She wanted to see Zhou Lang.

She wanted to know the truth.

Not long after she closed her eyes, she felt a wave of dizziness.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself standing in complete darkness.

A voice came from the darkness:

"Welcome to the third instance."

Han Yingying breathed a sigh of relief.

They're finally back.

As the darkness dissipated, Han Yingying found herself standing on a street.

The streets were lined with dilapidated buildings, and the streetlights cast a dim, yellowish glow.

She glanced down at her hand and saw a slip of paper in it:

"Mission: Survive in this city for seven days."

Is it really that simple?

Han Yingying frowned and put the note away.

She looked around; the streets were deserted.

No, it's not empty.

There was a figure in the distance, standing with its back to her.

Han Yingying walked over and patted the man on the shoulder.

The man turned around; he was pale-faced and had a vacant look in his eyes.

"Hello," Han Yingying said.

The man didn't speak, he just stared at her.

Han Yingying took a step back, and the man suddenly laughed.

"Is he new?" he said.

"I guess so," Han Yingying said. "Do you know where this is?"
