The fourth team leader, a middle-aged man wearing glasses named Wang De, said, "The intelligence says the right side leads to the equipment room, and the left side leads to the control room. The three-star monster is most likely in the equipment room."

"Then the right side."

The group turned to the right.

Zhou Lang's oil lamp flame suddenly flickered.

He stopped in his tracks.

"What's wrong?" Zhao Qiang asked.

"There's something there," Zhou Lang said.

The words had barely left his lips when heavy footsteps echoed from the darkness ahead. One step, two steps, three steps.

Then, a huge figure stepped into the light of the oil lamp.

Standing over three meters tall, its body was stitched together from at least five or six corpses, with black liquid seeping from each seam. It had four arms, each with a different end—some were claws, some bone blades, and some deformed human hands.

Samsung Ghost, Stitched Corpse Demon.

Authentic product.

They're not even in the same league as those ragtag soldiers outside.

"Damn it," Sun Biao cursed, raising his hammer.

The Stitched Corpse Demon gave them no time to prepare. It let out a low roar, waving all four arms as it lunged at the crowd.

The speed at which the stitching corpse demon could move was completely disproportionate to its size.

When Zhou Lang saw it pounce, his body reacted faster than his brain. He shoved Zhao Qiang aside and rolled to the left.

Sharp claws swept across his head, bringing with them a stench.

"Scatter! Don't crowd together!" Sun Biao roared.

The eighteen people scattered in a panic. But the passageway was only so wide, and several people were squeezed against the wall, unable to move.

The second arm of the Stitching Corpse Demon swept across, sending the two people flying. They crashed into the wall with a cracking sound.

Zhou Lang rushed forward, aiming the chainsaw at its leg and slicing it down. The saw teeth cut into the seam, and grayish-green flesh splattered everywhere.

The Stitching Corpse Demon glanced down at him.

That one glance chilled Zhou Lang to the bone.

It is conscious. Not the instinctive behavior of a low-level ghost, but a wise observation.

A third arm came crashing down on him.

"Flash!" the bandaged man shouted in his mind.

Zhou Lang turned and ran. His fist landed where he had just been standing, shattering the cement on the ground.

Sun Biao led three men in an attack from behind, smashing an iron hammer into the back of the stitched-together corpse demon. The monster turned and swung a claw at them.

Sun Biao dodged it, but the person behind him wasn't so lucky; a sharp claw pierced through his chest.

died.

The battle had only been going on for less than a minute.

Zhou Lang's mind raced. A direct confrontation wouldn't work; this thing was too powerful. He needed to find its weakness.

The intelligence says the Stitched Corpse Demon can resurrect, and it can only be completely killed by destroying the dungeon's core. So what's the point of fighting it now?

It's useful. At least we can defeat it and buy some time.

"Attack the stitches!" Wang De shouted. "The area with the densest stitches on its body is its weak point!"

Zhou Lang looked at the body of the stitched-up corpse demon. The densest part of the stitches... right in the middle of its chest, there were at least seven or eight stitches, crisscrossing and overlapping.

He rushed forward.

The chainsaw spun at full power, cutting into the stitched-up corpse demon's left leg. Not to kill it, but to make it kneel.

The stitched-up corpse demon staggered, but did not fall.

Han Yingying's arrow shot over and hit it right in the eye. The monster cried out in pain and flailed its four arms wildly.

"Now!" Zhou Lang shouted.

Sun Biao jumped up from the side and smashed the iron hammer into the stitches on its chest.

A heavy blow.

The stitched-up corpse demon let out a piercing screech, a gash appeared in its chest, and black liquid gushed out. It took two steps back, knocking over a row of abandoned equipment.

"It works! Keep going!"

The crowd swarmed around it, focusing their attack on its chest. Zhou Lang's chainsaw cut into the crack, widening the wound to both sides.

The stitched-up corpse demon struggled wildly, and two more people were hit by its arms. One lost an arm, and the other was thrown several meters away.

But it is indeed getting weaker.

Its movements slowed down, and its screams subsided.

The final blow came from Sun Biao. The iron hammer struck the same spot on the chest three times in succession, splitting the Corpse Demon's entire body in two and causing it to collapse to the ground.

Black liquid spilled all over the ground.

"Did you win?" someone asked.

"It's temporary," Wang De pushed up his glasses. "It will come back to life. Let's go, don't linger here."

Zhou Lang took a breath and counted the number of people. Eighteen people, one dead and three seriously injured.

The cost of getting the first three-star ghost was already quite high.

There are nine left.

"Send the wounded back to the rear," Sun Biao said. "The rest of you continue."

Three seriously wounded soldiers were carried back by two men. Their fighting force was now down by five.

The remaining thirteen continued onward.

After walking a while longer, the communications officer received a message: "The left flank has encountered two stitched-together corpse demons. The first and second groups are currently engaged in combat. The fifth group has gone to provide support."

"Two?" Sun Biao's face darkened. "Could it be that we have two too—"

He hadn't finished speaking.

Footsteps could be heard again in the darkness ahead.

Not one.

There are two.

"Damn it." Sun Biao gripped the hammer tightly.

Two stitched corpse demons emerged side by side from the depths of the equipment room. They were larger than the previous one, with more and denser stitches on their bodies.

Thirteen people, fighting two three-star monsters.

Zhou Lang's heart sank.

"Retreat!" Wang De shouted first, "Retreat to the fork in the road, use the terrain!"

No one objected. The thirteen men turned and ran.

Two stitched-together corpse demons were chasing after them. They weren't fast, but they had long strides.

Running back to the fork in the road, Zhou Lang glanced back and saw that the two ghosts had already caught up to within thirty meters.

"Block the passage!" Sun Biao commanded. "Front row hold the line, back row fire!"

Four melee fighters stood at the entrance of the passage, while the ranged attackers behind them were ready.

The first stitched corpse demon rushed to the entrance of the passage, but its movements were restricted by the narrow space. It could only extend two arms through.

"beat!"

Concentrated fire attack begins.

Zhou Lang's chainsaw kept clicking, cutting at the arm that had reached in. People nearby attacked with various ghostly weapons and props.

But the second stitched corpse demon arrived.

It didn't squeeze in; instead, it crashed directly into the wall.

The entire wall has cracked.

"Disperse!"

Zhou Lang lunged to the side, and pebbles and metal fragments rained down on him. A piece of metal cut his arm, and blood flowed out.

The defense line has collapsed.

Two stitched-up corpse demons charged into the crowd.

In the chaos, Zhou Lang saw Sun Biao get hit by an arm and embedded in the wall. He didn't know if Sun Biao was dead or alive.

What was Wang De shouting? His voice was drowned out by the noise.

Zhao Qiang pulled Han Yingying to hide in a corner.

That girl—

Zhou Lang spotted her amidst the chaos.

She stood still, not running. Everyone around her was fleeing for their lives, but she stood motionless, watching the two stitched-together corpse demons.

She is going to die.

Zhou Lang didn't have time to think too much and rushed over to pull her away.

But she spoke before he could even touch her.

"They can't hit us."

The sound was very soft, so soft that it was almost inaudible.

Then something strange happened.

The first arm of the stitched-up corpse demon slammed down towards Zhou Lang and the girl. Zhou Lang closed his eyes.

It didn't hit.

The arm veered off course half a meter away from them and slammed into the ground.

The second attack was the same. It was clearly coming towards them, but it veered off course when it got close.

Once is a coincidence, twice is a coincidence, but three times?
