Zhou Lang and Han Yingying both looked at her at the same time.

Shen Luo stared out the window: "There are traces of cable car supports on the mountainside, but several supports are broken. If it's a shutdown accident, it's most likely related to the broken supports."

"What did you do before?" Zhou Lang asked.

"It deals with mountains." Shen Luo didn't elaborate, but she pointed to a direction outside the window, "The ten o'clock position, that support."

Zhou Lang looked in the direction she was pointing. In the mist, he could vaguely see a crooked metal support, its broken edges jagged, not like it had been damaged naturally.

"Man-made?" Han Yingying asked.

"The fracture is too clean; weathering and corrosion wouldn't create that kind of cut." Shen Luo withdrew his hand.

Han Yingying glanced at Shen Luo, gaining a new understanding of him. He wasn't an ordinary player; he had a professional background and strong observational skills. Such people were rare resources in dungeons.

The cable car has arrived at the station.

The mountaintop resort was larger than I had imagined. There was a three-story wooden main building, surrounded by seven or eight small cabins, and an abandoned viewing platform in the distance. But all the buildings were covered in dust, with cobwebs on the windows and a thick layer of fallen leaves on the ground.

"Welcome to Guimenling Resort."

A mechanical female voice came from the loudspeaker at the main building entrance: "Rooms have been assigned. Please check in on your own. Resort brochures are available in the lobby on the first floor. Please read them carefully."

Zhou Lang was the first to enter the hall.

On the front desk were six keys and a stack of file folders. Each folder had a player's name written on it. He picked up his folder and opened it—

Inside was a yellowed newspaper clipping and a resort map.

The headline of the clipping read: "Ghost Gate Ridge cable car accident kills eight; resort closed indefinitely."

The date is thirteen years ago.

The report was brief: Thirteen years ago, on a winter night, the last cable car at Guimenling Resort suddenly plunged during operation. All eight passengers on board perished. The official cause of the accident was determined to be "the cable breaking due to aging support structures," but the families of the deceased challenged this conclusion. The resort subsequently closed and never reopened.

"Stent aging?" Zhou Lang handed the clipping to Han Yingying. "Shen Luo just said the break was too clean, it doesn't look like a natural fracture."

Han Yingying quickly scanned the contents and noticed the last paragraph of the report: "At the time of the accident, resort manager Li Shoushan was on duty in the duty room. He claimed that he heard an unusual metallic scraping sound, but was unable to stop the cable car from operating in time. The accident investigation team questioned him, and Li Shoushan disappeared three days after the questioning and his whereabouts remain unknown."

"The administrator has disappeared." Han Yingying extracted the key information.

Shen Luo also opened her own file folder. Her clippings were different from Han Yingying's—they were reports from different newspapers, with a bias towards the accusations of the deceased's family.

"Everyone has different information," Shen Luo said. "You have to piece it all together to get the whole picture."

Zhou Lang immediately made a decision: "Everyone, compile the data."

Liang Tiezhu, Fang Yuan, and Su Xiaoyu entered one after another. Without a word, Liang Tiezhu slammed his file folder on the table. Fang Yuan hesitated for a moment, then took it out as well. He also took out Su Xiaoyu's file.

Six documents were laid out on the front desk.

Zhou Lang flipped through them one by one. The six clippings came from six different newspapers, each with a different angle, but all focused on the same core event. After piecing together all the information, the following key points emerged:

1. The accident occurred on the last cable car at 11:03 p.m.

Second, among the eight victims were a pregnant woman and a seven-year-old child.

Third, three days before the accident, some workers reported to the resort owner that there was a potential hazard in the support structure, but the owner refused to repair it on the grounds that "the resort cannot be closed during the peak season".

Fourth, the administrator, Li Shoushan, went missing three days after the accident. A diary was left in his duty room, but the last page of the diary was torn out.

Fifth, the resort owner committed suicide out of fear of punishment during the accident investigation.

VI. A newspaper clipping mentioned that more than one support structure broke on the night of the accident. The second support structure broke four minutes after the first one. If it had broken naturally, the probability of such a "chain reaction" of breaks would be extremely low.

"Someone tampered with it." Liang Tiezhu slammed his hand on the table. "The boss's failure to fix it is the distant cause; the immediate cause is that someone damaged the support frame."

"Who?" Fang Yuan asked.

"The administrator is the prime suspect," Shen Luo said. "He disappeared after the accident, and pages were torn out of the duty room's diary."

As Han Yingying looked at this information, her spiritual sense returned to that subtle feeling. She closed her eyes and concentrated, and a vague image appeared in her mind—a small duty room, an open notebook on the table, with half a word stuck to the last page.

She opened her eyes: "Where is the duty room?"

Zhou Lang looked up at her: "What did you sense?"

"There might be clues left in the duty room. The page was torn out, but there should be residual handwriting on the notebook."

"It's marked on the map." Shen Luo spread out a map of the resort and pointed to a location, "Next to the cable car station, that little wooden cabin is the duty room."

"The one at the foot of the mountain that's locked?" Zhou Lang immediately answered.

"Did you see it when you got to the foot of the mountain?"

"I see it, it's locked."

Shen Luo paused for two seconds: "Then we have to go down the mountain. The cable car is at 3 PM."

There are still seven hours until 3 p.m.

Zhou Lang gathered the six documents and put them back into a file folder: "Search the mountaintop first this morning to see if there are any other clues in the resort. Take the cable car down this afternoon to open that duty room."

He paused, then looked at the others: "Regardless of what you think, my advice is that the six of you should not split up. The rules state that you are not allowed to act alone at night. Although there are no restrictions during the day, this is a penalty instance—no one guarantees that it is safe during the day."

Fang Yuan adjusted his glasses and answered "okay" on Su Xiaoyu's behalf. Liang Tiezhu had no objections. Shen Luo nodded.

The six of them formed a team and began searching for the resort.

The main building has three floors, with four guest rooms on each floor, plus a storage room and an empty restaurant. After searching almost everything, we only found two useful items—a wrench and a guest registration book.

The guest register stopped recording entries on the day of the accident. The last page with eight names listed were the eight people who died in the cable car crash.

Han Yingying copied the names onto her palm. Room 7, Li Meifang, the pregnant woman. Room 3, Chen Peng and Chen Xiaoyu—presumably the child and his father.

"All eight people boarded the last cable car at 11 o'clock," Fang Yuan said, flipping through the register. "Are they planning to descend the mountain overnight?"

"It's cold on the mountain in winter, and the resort's heating might be broken," Liang Tiezhu said. "Or there might be other reasons."

"There's a note in the register," Su Xiaoyu suddenly said.
