"It can't be fixed. At least we can't fix it right now." Han Yingying shook her head.

Zhou Lang stared at the garbled text for a while, then took out the brass key from his inventory and tentatively approached it.

The moment the key touched the garbled code, it burst into a blinding light.

A system notification sounded.

Unauthorized intrusion detected. Vulnerability patching in progress... Patch failed.

[Congratulations to players Zhou Lang, Han Yingying, and Zhao Qiang for successfully completing the Ren'ai Hospital level. Rating: A.]

Scene transition.

The three returned to the enormous plaza of the eerie world.

This time, the atmosphere in the square was even more enthusiastic than before.

The large screen displayed a series of videos showcasing the three of them in the hospital instance. In particular, the scene of Zhou Lang using a chainsaw to cut down five members of the Blood Wolf Guild was played repeatedly.

As soon as they landed, a group of people surrounded them.

Recruiters from various guilds surrounded them.

"Brother, join our 'Starry Sky' guild! Excellent benefits!"

"Beautiful lady, our 'Dark Night' guild desperately needs a master like you!"

Invitations came in droves.

Han Yingying replied uniformly: "Sorry, we are used to working alone and do not join guilds."

On the periphery of the crowd, several people wearing blood wolf badges watched coldly.

One of them deliberately raised his voice: "These guys are incredibly arrogant. They don't even respect us Blood Wolves, let alone guilds like yours. They're S-rank clearers, they wouldn't even look at your place."

Upon hearing this, the recruiters from several large guilds nearby immediately turned pale.

sow discord.

Zhou Lang didn't even glance at the people; he pushed his way through the crowd and walked towards the edge of the square.

"I'm going back," he said, leaving behind a single sentence.

Zhao Qiang and Han Yingying followed.

No matter how the various guilds in the supernatural world scheme, the crisis in the real world is their most pressing problem to solve. Those gibberish codes and vulnerabilities are the real key.

A much larger storm is brewing at the boundary between reality and the bizarre. Pushing open the iron door to the basement, a wave of cold, damp air rushes in. Zhou Lang holds an oil lamp, its green light casting a shadow on the mottled walls. Zhao Qiang swallows hard, clutching Zhou Lang's clothes tightly. Han Yingying brings up the rear, cautiously glancing around.

In the center of the basement sat a blood-red coffin. Zhou Lang walked over and knocked on the coffin lid. "Is anyone home? Time to collect the rent."

Zhao Qiang gasped. "Brother Lang, don't be reckless!"

The coffin lid shook violently, and a hand covered in black hair reached out. Zhou Lang reacted quickly, raising his chainsaw and slicing it off. The hairy hand severed, and black blood gushed out.

"Congratulations on clearing the Horror Manor. Rewards are being calculated."

A system notification sounded. A flash of white light, and the three returned to the real world.

The real world was sunny and bright. The streets were bustling with traffic, and pedestrians hurried by. Han Yingying stood at the crossroads, looking at her surroundings. There was no eerie fog, no strange noises. Everything seemed normal.

This apparent normalcy felt strangely abnormal. She checked her phone's news feed; there hadn't been a single missing person case recently. The eeriness lurking in the shadows had vanished without a trace.

She sent Zhou Lang a message: "Be careful, something's not right."

Zhou Lang replied quickly: "I just finished two bowls of noodles with soybean paste, and I added two eggs. What could be wrong with that?"

Han Yingying shook her head and put her phone in her pocket.

There are three days left until the eighth instance opens. It's the middle of the night, and Han Yingying is lying in bed. A strong wind is blowing outside the window, and tree branches are rattling against the glass. She opens her eyes and stares at the ceiling.

Red liquid seeped from the ceiling and dripped onto the floor.

coming.

She rolled out of bed and grabbed the dagger from under her pillow. The door was flung open, and a monster covered in tentacles burst in. Its tentacles lashed out, smashing a water glass on the table.

Han Yingying ducked to avoid the fatal blow, and her short knife slashed through the monster's abdomen. Green slime gushed onto the ground. The monster let out a piercing scream, and more tentacles coiled around it.

Using the wall for leverage, she somersaulted out of the window, landing on the air conditioner unit on the second floor. The monster chased after her to the window, but was blocked by an invisible barrier.

"Countdown to dungeon opening: 10, 9, 8..."

She was enveloped in white light.

Eighth instance, the abandoned hospital. S-rank.

Han Yingying opened her eyes and found herself standing in the hospital lobby. The air was filled with the smell of formaldehyde.

Zhou Lang and Zhao Qiang were not far away. Three strangers stood nearby: two men and one woman, their heads labeled A, B, and C.

In the corner leaned a man in a black trench coat, identified as D. He had his head down, his baseball cap obscuring half his face. He was toying with a butterfly knife in his hand.

"In an S-rank dungeon, we need to cooperate to survive," A suggested, stepping forward.

Zhou Lang yawned. "I'll be in charge of scaring the ghosts, you guys just need to shout '666'."

Zhao Qiang nodded repeatedly. "My brother Lang is really tough, you guys will be right to follow us."

D looked up, his gaze lingering on Zhou Lang and Han Yingying for two seconds. He gripped the butterfly knife tightly and approached silently.

His mission was assassination. The Second Guild had given a death order: these two men had to die in the dungeon.

D walked behind Zhou Lang, the blade aimed directly at the back of Zhou Lang's neck.

Zhou Lang suddenly turned around, holding up the green oil lamp. The lamp shone brightly, illuminating D's face.

"Can I borrow a light?" Zhou Lang asked.

D froze. The blade stopped in mid-air.

Zhou Lang pulled out a chainsaw and held it to D's neck. "Trying to ambush me? Your technique is too crude. Let me teach you, an assassination should be done from bottom to top, avoiding the ribs."

The three members of ABC were dumbfounded.

Han Yingying observed coldly. "Did the Second Guild send you?"

D gritted his teeth and remained silent.

"This is an S-rank instance. You won't survive killing us either," Han Yingying said. "Cooperate, or die now."

Zhou Lang pushed the chainsaw forward. Blood seeped from D's neck.

"Cooperation." D sheathed his butterfly knife and took two steps back. He maintained a defensive stance, keeping three meters away from everyone. Keep out of the way.

The sound of a wheelchair rolling echoed down the hospital corridor. Squeak, squeak.

Zhou Lang, carrying a chainsaw, went to meet them. A headless ghost dressed in a hospital gown pushed a wheelchair with its head on it.

"Robbery!" Zhou Lang shouted.

The headless ghost was so frightened that it dropped its head to the ground.

"This ghost in the dungeon is really cowardly." Zhou Lang picked up the head and examined it. "It's not bad looking."

Han Yingying walked over and examined the wheelchair. "There are clues here."

Hidden under the wheelchair cushion was a medical record containing experimental data from the hospital.

"They're creating something eerie." Han Yingying flipped through the medical records. Several fragmented images flashed through her mind: a white laboratory, cold instruments, and a pair of eyes.

She covered her head, cold sweat beading on her forehead.

"What's wrong?" Zhou Lang leaned closer.

"It's alright. Keep looking."

D stood at a distance, coldly watching them. His intelligence indicated that these two were of average skill, relying entirely on luck. Now it seemed the intelligence was wildly wrong. This Zhou Lang didn't play by the rules at all, and that woman was frighteningly astute.
