Ms. Gojo thought she was dating an ordinary person's boyfriend.

Chapter 56 "That fleeting moment of sharpness was truly fascinating"

Soft jazz music played in the coffee shop, while people came and went outside the window.

Sumi Kikawa gave all the blueberries from her plate to Satoru Gojo, who in turn pushed the only strawberry on his pancake towards her.

"Reciprocity is key."

Kikawa Sumi looked at the lone, slightly green strawberry: "Are you sure it's not because it's too sour and you don't like it?"

Gojo Satoru rested his chin on his hand and said with a smile, "Don't expose me, Sumi."

Sumi reluctantly ate the strawberry. Because she had just eaten Gojou Goshin's cloyingly sweet waffle, the strawberry, which was not sweet to begin with, tasted even more sour.

Gojo Satoru, propping his chin on his hand, watched him wrinkle his nose and immediately burst into laughter.

After lunch, the two strolled slowly along the shopping street toward the station. They passed a movie theater along the way, with posters advertising re-releases of old films displayed at the entrance.

Gojo Satoru stopped and glanced at it twice.

"Xiao Cheng, do you want to go to the movies?"

"Occasionally."

"A horror movie?"

"I don't watch them much," said Sumi Kichikawa. "After a night shift at the hospital, it's not a good time to watch horror movies."

Gojo Satoru imagined the scene for a moment, then laughed out loud, deeply agreeing: "That makes sense."

Just as the two were about to continue walking, a burst of laughter suddenly came from the alley next to them.

Kikawa Sumi stopped in her tracks, and Gojo Satoru turned his head to look.

Near the vending machine at the alley entrance, three boys in school uniforms were surrounding a black-haired boy.

The boy wasn't short, but his hair covered half his face. He was clutching his schoolbag tightly, and his shoulders were slightly hunched.

One of the boys shoved a drink can into his arms, then playfully pushed it away, causing the can to fall to the ground. The dark sugary liquid immediately trickled down the black-haired boy's sleeve.

The boy said with a grin, "Hey, I rarely offer to treat you to drinks, why aren't you accepting, Yoshino?"

The boys next to them laughed even louder.

Gojo Satoru's smile faded slightly, while Kikkawa Sumi had already taken long strides toward that direction.

"Sumiko?" Gojo Satoru followed.

"Let's go take a look." Sumi Kichikawa walked quickly, reaching the alley entrance in just a few steps.

The three boys in the alley quieted down slightly when they noticed an adult approaching. Kikawa Sumi stopped a few steps away, ignoring the students who were getting closer, and looked directly at the black-haired boy: "Need any help?"

The boy looked up, his face pale, his eyes filled with gloom and a strong sense of defensiveness after being caught in his disheveled state.

His name tag read: Yoshino Junpei.

Kikawa Sumi didn't stare at him for long; she simply took a tissue from her pocket and handed it to him, saying, "Your sleeve is wet."

Shunping hesitated for a moment, then reached out and took it.

Seeing this, one of the boys who seemed to be the leader immediately laughed it off, saying, "It's just classmates joking around, uncle, you don't have to take it so seriously, do you?"

Gojo Satoru chuckled from behind.

"Uncle?" He strode over to Kikawa Sumi, his striking face paired with a friendly smile, yet strangely sending chills down one's spine. "Who are you calling uncle?"

The boy's expression froze for a moment, overwhelmed by Gojo Satoru's face and body, before he quickly forced himself to mutter, "It was just a joke..."

"Since it's a joke, I'll contact the local police and your school's teachers now and have them confirm what kind of behavior this is." Sumire Kichikawa took out her phone, her tone indifferent.

The three boys' expressions changed instantly.

"Hey, there's a limit to how much you can meddle!"

Enraged, the boy in the lead took a step forward and reached out to grab Sumi Kichikawa's phone.

However, before his hand even touched the edge of the phone, Sumi Kichikawa suddenly looked up.

In those usually gentle and reserved black eyes, a kind of extremely deep and cold sharpness suddenly seeped out without warning, like a cold blade tempered in countless worlds, piercing the boy's spine.

The boy's outstretched hand froze in mid-air, his breath instinctively stopping for a moment, and a chill ran down his spine.

"You'd better apologize now before I make things any more complicated," Sumire looked at him, her tone cold and authoritative.

The boys were overwhelmed by the sheer oppressive atmosphere. They exchanged glances, and finally, reluctantly, they lowered their heads and mumbled a perfunctory "I'm sorry, okay?"

After saying that, the three of them turned and left.

The boy who was leading the group seemed to feel embarrassed. As he brushed past Sumi Kichikawa's shoulder, he was still unwilling to accept it and deliberately bumped into her hard with his shoulder.

But before his shoulder could even touch the other's clothes, Sumi Kikawa's hand had already gripped his wrist.

Kikawa Sumi's fingers were stuck on the pressure point of the boy's wrist bone. With a twist, the boy's body on one side instantly lost strength, and he fell to his knees in a sorry state, so painful that he couldn't even scream.

Kikawa Sumi leaned down slightly and whispered in his ear in a voice only the two of them could hear, "If I catch you again next time, it won't be as simple as calling the police."

Cold sweat instantly beaded on the boy's forehead, and he nodded repeatedly in terror.

As soon as Susumu Kikawa loosened his grip, the brats completely lost their arrogance and scrambled out of the alley.

Gojo Satoru stood there, watching Sumi Kichikawa's retreating figure.

He twirled his fingers lightly in his pocket, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes.

The sharpness he displayed just now was really interesting.

But the next second, when Kikawa Sumi turned around to look at Junping, the coldness in her eyes had completely disappeared, as if that chilling moment just now was just an illusion.

"Let me see your hands." He reverted to being the gentle and reliable doctor he always was.

Shunping paused for a moment, then reached out his hand.

Kikawa Sumi looked down and carefully checked her over, making sure she wasn't scratched by the can before letting go.

"It's best to change your clothes as soon as they get wet; the sugar water sticking to your skin is very uncomfortable." Sumi Kikawa took out a business card from her wallet and handed it to him. "I'm a doctor at Tokyo Metropolitan Hospital. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere later, or need consultation, you can contact this number."

Shunping took the business card, looked at the title on it, and said somewhat awkwardly in a low voice, "...I'm not a child anymore."

"Teenagers can also receive counseling," Sumi Kichikawa said with a faint smile.

Shunping seemed surprised by his answer, and the guard on his face unconsciously relaxed a little.

Gojo Satoru peeked over to look at the business card and drawled, "Eh—Sumi has never given me a business card."

Sumire Kichikawa asked in confusion, "You still need this?"

"I need to add this to my collection."

Kikawa Sumire was somewhat helpless, but she still drew another card and handed it to him.

Gojo Satoru solemnly stuffed it into the inner pocket of his wallet.

The three of them walked out of the alley together and strolled along the way for a while.
