When Gojo Satoru got home, it was a little later than usual.

The light in the entryway was on.

He pushed open the door and was immediately greeted by the aroma of food wafting from the kitchen.

Kikawa Sumi had roughly calculated when he would return, and dinner was already prepared, but it wasn't served in advance; it was just kept warm in the pot.

"Xiao Cheng, I'm back."

"Um."

Sumi Kichikawa's voice came from the living room.

Gojo Satoru changed his shoes, picked up his empty lunchbox, and went inside.

Kikawa Sumire sat on the sofa, a half-read book on his lap. Hearing footsteps, he looked up, first glancing at Gojo Satoru, then at the bento box in his hand.

"Have you finished lunch?"

"We ate it all."

Gojo Satoru took the initiative to open the box and show him the empty compartments inside.

After confirming, Sumi Kichikawa looked away and asked, "Where are the snacks?"

"It was demolished after the mission was completed."

"Um."

"I was so well-behaved today, shouldn't Xiaocheng praise me?"

As Gojo Satoru spoke, he walked to the sofa and leaned over to lean against Kikkawa Sumi.

But this time, he didn't just charge at it like he usually does.

He suddenly stopped halfway through his action.

Sensing something was wrong, Kikkawa Sumi closed her book and looked at him: "What happened?"

Gojo Satoru did not answer immediately.

He stood still for two seconds, then sat down next to Sumi Kichikawa. His usual smile was still there, but much less pronounced, clearly indicating he didn't intend to brush the matter off with a joke.

"Xiao Cheng, there's something I need to tell you."

Kikawa Sumi turned around and looked at him seriously.

"you say."

"The video recording of your previous battle with the Special Grade Cursed Spirit has been recovered."

Gojo Satoru spoke very directly, without any beating around the bush.

"The supervisory department saw the video footage and also found out your identity, including the hospital you worked for, your past work experience, and some of your activities over the years."

Kikawa Sumi remained calm, showing little surprise.

Gojo Satoru looked into his eyes and continued, "The higher-ups held a meeting today."

"At the meeting, they proposed to recruit you, requiring you to register your techniques, cooperate with the investigation, and accept supervision from the Directorate General. If they couldn't confirm your stance, they planned to take action ahead of time."

Kikawa Sumi remained calm, seemingly unperturbed, and continued, "And then?"

"I told them that you are my legitimate lover."

Upon hearing this, Sumire Kikawa's expression turned somewhat surprised.

In the kitchen, the soup pot on the stove was still making a soft bubbling sound, and steam was spreading between the two of them.

Sumire Kichikawa was silent for a moment: "Are you trying to buy time?"

"That's part of the reason," Gojo Satoru said without hiding anything. "The title of 'advisor' was something I came up with on the spur of the moment to shut them up. If you, Sumi, don't want it, I'll just go to the vocational high school and decline it tomorrow."

He looked intently at Sumireki.

"Today I just need a reason to shut them up immediately. As for whether you want to be this consultant or not, that's entirely up to you. No one can force you to do anything in my name. Not the senior college, and certainly not the directorate."

"You have complete control over this matter."

Sumi Kichikawa did not reply immediately.

In fact, Gojo Satoru had already shielded him from a lot of things.

She stopped the director's probing questions, publicly acknowledged their relationship, and unhesitatingly placed herself in opposition to the entire upper management. Then, upon returning home, she immediately confessed everything and left the choice to him.

Even in that tense situation, Gojo Satoru never considered using their relationship to forcibly kidnap him.

He has always taken good care of himself.

Sumire Kichikawa raised her hand and gently grasped Satoru Gojo's hand, which was hanging by his side, and said softly.

"I didn't delete the video because I was already prepared to show myself."

Gojo Satoru paused slightly.

Kikawa Sumi's thumb gently stroked his knuckles, her tone remaining steady.

"Originally, I planned to gradually get involved in the world of sorcery."

He had been hiding his identity because he didn't want to put himself in everyone's sight before he understood the situation.

However, the number of cursed spirits appearing recently has been increasing, and their plans have directly threatened Gao Zhan and Gojo Satoru.

While staying in the shadows is convenient, it also means that many times he can only passively wait for things to happen.

The video recording of the real person was intentionally left behind by him.

His goal was to draw the attention of the sorcery world to him.

He remained silent for a moment before giving his answer.

"I have no problem with the consultant position."

Gojo Satoru stared at him intently, but instead of immediately showing a happy expression, he frowned slightly.

"Have you thought this through?"

"I've thought it through."

"You really didn't agree because of what I said on my own in the meeting today, did you?"

"No." Sumi Kichikawa shook her head.

"I don't like the administration making decisions for me, and I don't intend to accept their condescending oversight. But it's different at the vocational college."

He gazed at Gojo Satoru, his cold gaze gradually softening.

"Because you're there."

Gojo Satoru was taken aback.

Kikawa Sumi didn't stop, continuing, "Furthermore, these recently appearing cursed spirits and anomalies are very strange. Their targets aren't just ordinary people, but also you and the students of the vocational high school. Now that I've noticed it, I can't just stand by and do nothing."

Gojo Satoru lowered his eyelashes, his Adam's apple bobbed, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just smiled.

"Okay." Gojo Satoru squeezed his hand. "Then let's go together."

Kikawa Sumi nodded.

"but--"

Gojo Satoru abruptly changed the subject, his tone becoming protective and domineering.

"The consultant title is ultimately just a convenient label for operations. You don't need to report to anyone, and you certainly don't need to take orders from those rotten oranges."

"I know."

"If any of them are foolish enough to point fingers at you, tell me directly."

"I understand," Sumire Kikawa interrupted him helplessly.

"Um?"

"Do I look like the kind of person they would just let manipulate me?"

Gojo Satoru paused for a moment, and the image of the real person being pinned down in the ruins and beaten one-sidedly flashed through his mind. He finally couldn't help but chuckle softly.

"Too."

He smiled and leaned down, giving Kikawa Sumi's smooth forehead a deep kiss.

"I was overthinking it."

After they had talked things out, the two finally sat down at the dining table.

Dinner was prepared long ago, but no one showed any intention of picking up their chopsticks right away.

Now that Sumi Kikawa has decided to officially enter the world of jutsu, there are some things that have been standing between the two of them that should no longer be kept secret.

Gojo Satoru took the initiative to speak.

"In that case, I should reintroduce myself formally."

Sumire Kichikawa raised her eyes and listened quietly.

"According to the classification of the sorcery world, I am a top-level sorcerer."

"To be more precise, it is the strongest in modern times."

When he said those words, there was no boasting in them, nor was it a flippant joke; it was simply a fact that had been accepted by the entire sorcery world.

"I am the current head of the Gojo family."

"At the same time, I am also a teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Besides carrying out missions, I am mainly responsible for teaching students."

Sumi Kichikawa didn't interrupt and listened quietly.

When the topic of the Directors' Department came up again, Gojo Satoru's eyes revealed an undisguised look of disdain.

"As for my relationship with the director's department, it's basically that we don't like each other, but for the time being, neither of us can get rid of the other."

"The majority of the directors are conservatives. They care about lineage, family, and the established order, and prefer to control things that are not in their control rather than actually solving problems."

"My opposition to them has been going on for a long time, not just recently."

Sumire Kikawa asked, "Are they afraid of you?"

"Of course." Gojo Satoru smiled. "After all, if it really came down to a fight, even all of them combined couldn't beat me."

He spoke casually, but Sumi Kichikawa didn't laugh along.

"If that's the case, why should we follow their orders?"

Gojo Satoru was unusually silent for a few seconds.

He stared silently at the bowl of steaming soup on the table, the casual smile on his lips completely fading away.

"The Directorate is indeed annoying, but many of the tasks they issue are related to the lives of ordinary people. If I don't go, it won't be those old guys sitting in the conference room giving orders who die, but ordinary people who don't have time to escape, or young sorcerers who are sent there to their deaths."

So even though he knew the director's department was draining him, he still accepted those tasks time and time again.

It wasn't because of obedience, nor because of an inability to resist.

It's simply because he knows all too well who will ultimately bear the consequences of refusing.
