Ms. Gojo thought she was dating an ordinary person's boyfriend.

Chapter 17 "Rewarding You for Telling the Truth"

They lingered in front of the sticker stand for a long time.

Gojo Satoru took a small basket from the side at some point and began putting things into it very naturally.

Dessert stickers, cat sticky notes, moon bookmarks, a ballpoint pen with a white cat charm on top, and a box of animal puzzle cards for ages six and up.

Sumi Kichikawa looked at the box of puzzle cards and asked, "Is this also for the children in the hospital?"

Gojo Satoru shook the box.

No, that's not it.

"That is?"

"For me to play with."

Kikawa Sumi nodded knowingly.

"Then we can buy it."

Gojou tilted his head.

"Doesn't Cheng find it strange?"

"Why is that strange?"

"Me." Gojo Satoru tapped himself lightly with the puzzle box. "An adult male, buying animal puzzle cards for ages six and up."

Sumire looked at the upper right corner of the box.

It does indeed say "ages 6 and up".

He looked at it carefully for two seconds and said, "Anyone over six years old can play."

Gojo Satoru waited for a while.

There was no follow-up.

He couldn't help but ask, "And then?"

Sumire looked at him with some confusion.

"That's all."

"Shouldn't Cheng add, 'But you're already so old'?"

"Why do we need to supplement it?"

"Because that's what most people would say."

Sumire Kawakawa thought for a moment.

"But it doesn't say the upper age limit."

Gojo Satoru: "..."

Sumi Kikawa added, "And you want to play."

Gojo Satoru looked at him and suddenly laughed so hard his shoulders trembled slightly.

He laughed restrainedly, after all, they were still in the shop, but the smile he held back made him seem even closer.

"Cheng, you're really interesting."

Sumi Kichikawa had no idea where that sentence came from.

He just thought Gojo Satoru had a very handsome smile.

This person always has a childlike quality when they laugh.

Like a white cat that should have been placed on a high place, suddenly discovering that it can jump down, stick its paws into a box full of colorful paper scraps and fiddle with them, and no one will say "no".

Looking at him, Sumire Kikawa felt a pang of tenderness.

"If you want to play, you can open it in the coffee area later."

Gojo Satoru immediately looked at him.

"Cheng, will you stay with me?"

"Um."

"Won't you get bored?"

"Won't."

"Don't you think I'm childish?"

"Won't."

Gojo Satoru's gaze fell on his face.

Through the blindfold, Sumi Kichikawa couldn't see those eyes, but she could feel that she was being watched.

He felt that Gojo Satoru's behavior often resembled that of something that did not know how to conceal its brilliance approaching the human world.

Too bright, too direct, and too lacking in sense of distance.

When Gojo Satoru gets close to people, he always seems a little unclear about what he himself means.

He just came closer because he found it interesting; he lowered his head because he wanted to look; he reached out because he wanted it.

It's not offensive.

It's more like a being born to stand on the clouds, observing a roadside flower for the first time, unaware that its own shadow has completely enveloped the flower.

However, Sumi Kawakawa doesn't find it annoying.

He just thought it was cute.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Gojo Satoru deliberately moved forward a little more.

"Does Dr. Cheng really spoil me like this?"

The two of them got closer.

As Kikawa Sumi got closer, she could smell a faint sweet scent on him, like the caramel pudding from earlier, or like unopened fruit candies in his pocket.

Sumi Kichikawa did not back down.

He simply looked up at Gojo Satoru and said calmly, "Because you look happy."

Wu Tiao Wu Dong stopped.

Sumi Kichikawa added, "If you can be happy just by playing with puzzle cards, then you can play with them."

This time, Gojo Satoru didn't immediately respond to the joke.

He stared at Sumire Kichikawa for several seconds before slowly straightening up.

"Cheng".

"Um?"

"You're spoiling people."

"You said that before."

"Then why are you still doing this?"

Sumire Kawakawa thought for a moment.

"But it's not broken yet."

Gojo Satoru was silent for a second.

Then he raised his hand to cover the lower half of his face, laughing so hard that the edge of his eye mask twitched slightly.

"Cheng, you're really good at fighting back."

I did not retaliate.

"Yes, I do." Gojo Satoru's voice was tinged with laughter. "And it hit the bullseye on the first try."

Sumi Kichikawa didn't quite understand what had happened to her.

But Gojo Satoru seemed very happy.

So he didn't ask any further questions, and simply put the puzzle card box into the basket.

"Then let's buy it."

They strolled around the stationery section again.

Sumi Kichikawa picked out several boxes of colorful band-aids and reward stickers for the clinic, and bought herself a simple dessert cookbook.

It wasn't because he loves reading, but this cookbook had very clear steps and intuitive pictures, and one page had a caramel pudding that looked pretty good.

When Gojo Satoru saw that page, he immediately reached out and pressed the page down.

"this."

Sumire Kawakawa looked down.

"Caramel pudding?"

"Um."

"Do you want to eat?"

Gojo Satoru answered without hesitation: "I want to eat it."

Sumire Kikawa nodded.

"Then I'll give it a try."

Gojo Satoru was just saying it offhand.

Unexpectedly, Sumi Kichikawa did not take his "want to eat" as a joke, but directly categorized it as something "can be done".

Gojo Satoru watched as he put the cookbook into the basket, then suddenly asked, "Will Sumi fail?"

"meeting."

"What if I fail?"

"Do it again."

"What if it still fails?"

"Change the formula again."

What if it keeps failing?

Kikkawa Sumi finally looked up at him, and just when Gojo Satoru thought he was finally getting impatient with his questioning, Kikkawa Sumi said.

"Then I'll buy you some convenience store pudding first."

Gojo Satoru continued to tease him.

"You really don't want to disappoint me?"

Sumire Kawakawa paused for a moment.

Gojo Satoru waited quietly for Sumire's reply, waving the small basket in his hand.

After thinking for a while, Sumire Kikawa looked up at Satoru Gojo and answered seriously, "If it's something I've already promised you, I will do my best to do it."

The smile on Gojo Satoru's lips faded slightly.

Then he laughed again, his tone languid: "Cheng is so serious."

"Um."

"I'm so serious about it that I'm a little embarrassed."

Sumire Kawakawa looked at him.

"Won't you feel embarrassed?"

Gojo Satoru: "..."

Sumire Kawakawa's question was so sincere.

There was no teasing, no doubt, just honest questions based on observation of the person in front of me.

Gojo Satoru was momentarily speechless.

A few seconds later, he smiled.

Yes, I will.

Sumi Kichikawa blinked.

Gojo Satoru lowered his head slightly and softened his voice: "There's a little right now."

Sumire Kichikawa looked at him quietly.

Gojo Satoru's tone was still smiling.

But for some reason, Sumi Kichikawa felt that this statement was true.

He thought for a moment, took the dessert sticker out of the shopping basket, and handed it to Gojo Satoru.

"Here, this is for you."

Gojo Satoru: "Hmm?"

"award."

"You feel bad about rewarding me?"

"Your reward is for telling the truth."

Gojo Satoru stared at the sticker for a while.

He then reached out and took it.

The tone of voice makes it difficult to discern whether it is true or false.

"Doctor, this reward system sounds like it makes people want to tell the truth more."

Sumi Kikawa said, "Okay."

"You can say anything?"

"If you want to."

"Will Cheng listen?"

"Um."

Gojo Satoru held the sticker between his fingers and slowly wiggled it.

"Cheng, you're really dangerous."

Sumi Kichikawa had heard him say this several times already.

This time he didn't ask where the danger was.

He simply said, "Then you should be careful."

Gojo was taken aback.

Sumire looked at him, her eyes curving slightly at the corners.

"Don't be fooled by the stickers."

Gojo Satoru was silent for half a second.

Then, he chuckled softly.

He was outmaneuvered.

He originally thought he was teasing Sumi Kawakawa, but the other party just stood there gently, catching all his overstepping boundaries, and then, when he was completely unprepared, made his heart itch with a lighthearted remark.

Gojo Satoru thought, "This feeling is actually quite addictive."
