Ms. Gojo thought she was dating an ordinary person's boyfriend.
Chapter 12 "Can we have dinner together?" [Sumi Kichikawa's words]
Fushiguro Megumi felt that Gojo Satoru was probably really hard to judge by the standards of a normal adult.
Before setting off, he said, "It's a very simple little task. Megumi's current level is just right for practice." But when he actually stood on the scene and faced the cursed spirit hanging upside down from the ceiling of the abandoned school building, Gojo Satoru just stood at the end of the corridor with his arms crossed, smiling and waving at him.
"Come on, come on! Hui will definitely be fine."
Fushiguro Megumi stared expressionlessly at the slime dripping from the mouthparts of the cursed spirit.
Black grime, like damp mold, covered the walls. The window was half broken, and the afternoon sunlight slanted in through the edge of the broken glass, cut into strands by the dust floating in the air.
The old school building had a damp, woody smell mixed with the distinctive, sweet, fishy odor of a curse, which made people very uncomfortable.
He paused for two seconds, then turned to look at the man behind him.
"Teacher Gojo".
"Yes, I'm listening."
"This is the kind of task you were talking about, suitable for ninth graders?"
Gojo Satoru leaned against the wall, his white hair standing out excessively in the dim light. Under Fushiguro Megumi's accusing gaze, which seemed to say, "I shouldn't have trusted you," he tilted his head innocently.
"Yes," he said matter-of-factly, "the difficulty is just right. It won't kill Hui, but it will allow her to fully experience the sweat of youth and the pain of growing up."
Fushiguro Megumi: "..."
He knew it.
The "just right" that this person uses usually deviates greatly from the understanding of normal people.
The cursed spirit suddenly pounced down from the ceiling.
Fushiguro Megumi didn't waste any more time complaining. She formed hand seals, and her shadow quickly spread out beneath her feet.
The jade dog leaped out of the black shadows, its sharp teeth biting the twisted limb of the cursed spirit, dragging it violently to the ground.
The floorboards made a cracking sound as they sank under the weight.
Gojo Satoru stood still, only slightly tilting his head to avoid the flying wood chip.
"Oh, not bad, that's a good reaction." He drawled, "Hui, on the left."
Without turning around, Fushiguro Megumi rolled to the right.
The next second, a second mouth suddenly emerged from the cursed spirit's split abdomen and bit into nothing from the left side.
Fushiguro Megumi gritted her teeth.
I've been scammed again.
"Teacher Gojo!"
"Huh? What's wrong?" Gojo Satoru laughed lightly. "The enemy won't honestly tell you their attack direction. Teacher is simulating real combat."
You were referring to the left side.
"So Megumi cleverly hid on the right side." Gojo Satoru clapped his hands. "She's grown up, she's grown up."
Fushiguro Megumi didn't want to talk to him anymore.
The mission eventually came to an end, of course.
When the cursed spirit was torn apart by the jade dog, the daylight outside the old school building had already shifted slightly to the west. The shadows of the trees swayed outside the window, and the wind blew in through the broken window, making the old exam papers on the ground rustle.
Fushiguro Megumi stood in the middle of the corridor, her sleeve was torn, and there was a shallow wound on her arm, with blood dripping from her fingertips to the ground.
Gojo Satoru walked over, bent down, and glanced at him.
"Ouch~ I'm bleeding."
Fushiguro Megumi looked up at him: "You're only realizing it now?"
"I noticed, but Hui was so cool just now, I was totally mesmerized."
Megumi Fushiguro: "...Can I punch you?"
"Wow, that's so mean." Gojo Satoru clutched his chest, looking hurt. "Megumi has actually learned to threaten the teacher. She used to hold my hand obediently when we were little."
"I don't."
Yes.
"no."
"have--"
"No!"
They walked out of the abandoned school building while engaging in this pointless argument.
The air outside is much cleaner than inside.
The leaves on the trees along the street shimmered in the sunlight, and the sounds of traffic drifted from afar, mingling with the dinging of convenience store notifications, creating a sense of tranquility unique to ordinary daily life.
Fushiguro Megumi looked down at the wound on her arm.
The wound wasn't serious, but it definitely needed treatment. He was about to ask when they would leave when Gojo Satoru suddenly stopped beside him.
He seemed to have noticed something.
Megumi Fushiguro frowned: "Gojo-sensei?"
Gojo Satoru snapped out of his daze and gently patted the back of his head.
"Megumi, go find Glass to treat the wound first."
"Huh?" Fushiguro Megumi looked up. "Didn't you say there were follow-up missions?"
"Yes," Gojo Satoru said casually, "but the injured child needs to get treatment first."
"Who was the person who just mentioned youth?"
"It's the great Gojo-sensei." Gojo Satoru's eyes crinkled into a smile. "So listen to your teacher and go quickly."
Fushiguro looked at him and instinctively felt that this person was being willful again.
"You'd better not be thinking about something weird again."
"Oh dear, this child is really not cute."
Fushiguro Megumi turned and left, thinking calmly to herself: I should have kept this person quiet.
The footsteps faded into the distance.
The evening breeze rustled through the treetops, the leaves brushing against each other with a soft whisper.
Gojo Satoru stood there, watching Fushiguro Megumi's figure disappear at the intersection, before turning his head back to look in the direction he had just been.
The next second, a figure emerged from around the corner.
Black hair, black eyes, wearing a white shirt over a thin light-colored cardigan, and carrying a convenience store paper bag in her hand.
The light of dusk fell on the man's shoulders, softening his features and even making his originally handsome and well-defined eyebrows seem to be bathed in warmth.
Sumireya saw him.
Almost instantly, a distinct surprise surfaced in those usually quiet and gentle eyes.
"Enlightenment".
He called his name.
Sumire Kawakawa never expected to see Satoru Gojo here.
He was on vacation today and had only come out to buy some daily necessities.
The paper bag contained new tea leaves, convenience store-limited pudding, and several packets of stickers that kids would like. He only glanced up briefly as he passed the street corner.
Then I saw that familiar figure.
White hair, eye patch, black coat, standing on the street at dusk, like a piece of snow falling to earth.
Gojo looked up, a smile spreading across his face.
"Cheng," he said, "What a coincidence."
It's quite a coincidence.
Tokyo is so big, and the crowds come and go like a river, yet they always manage to bump into each other at some ordinary corner.
Kikawa Sumi took a few steps closer, her gaze sweeping over him. Gojo Satoru looked very energetic, and his clothes were neat; judging from the situation, he had probably just come from somewhere.
"Are you working?" Sumi Kichikawa asked.
"Yes." Gojo Satoru nodded naturally, "I brought the students out to stretch their muscles."
"That child from earlier?"
"Yeah, right." Gojo Satoru smiled. "Isn't she a cute student? Even though she always has that 'annoying' look on her face."
Kikkawa Sumi recalled the black-haired boy's aloof profile and commented seriously, "He seems like a very composed child."
"Susumu knows how to compliment people," Gojo Satoru drawled. "Megumi would be very embarrassed if she heard that."
"He's injured," Sumi Kikawa said.
Gojo Satoru paused slightly.
"You saw it?"
"Your arm." Sumire Kichikawa lowered her eyes. "The bleeding isn't much, but it's best to disinfect and bandage it as soon as possible. Have you already sent someone to take care of it?"
"I'm off, I'm off." Gojo Satoru waved his hand. "Sumiko seems more like a teacher than I am."
"I am a doctor."
"Ah, right." Gojo Satoru nodded as if suddenly realizing something. "I almost forgot that Sumire is a professional."
Seeing his exaggerated expression, Sumi Kichikawa couldn't help but smile.
They were talking on the street corner.
The evening breeze passed between the two, carrying the aroma of butter from a distant bakery.
The vending machine on the street lit up, and the blue and white light fell on the edge of Gojo Satoru's eye patch, then slid down his white hair.
That person was just standing there lazily, yet he was still as conspicuous as a lamp that had been lit up early in the night.
Pedestrians passed by them without stopping, and no one knew what this encounter meant to them.
Sumi Kichikawa gently tightened her grip on the paper bag handle.
He knew that taking the initiative to make connections wasn't something that ended with just saying his name once.
Fate is something that is too easily broken if it is only maintained by chance encounters.
So he looked up at Gojo Satoru and asked gently, "Are you free afterward?"
Gojo Satoru tilted his head: "Hmm?"
"If work is over, how about we go somewhere to sit for a while?" Sumire paused, then added, "We talked about having dinner together last time, but we can do it another day. I just happen to be passing by, it doesn't have to be today."
