Yun Jin looked at Xia Hong and said solemnly, "Xia Hong, someone wants to harm my mother, so I need someone who understands pharmacology and is trustworthy to protect her closely. I need to personally check everything about her, including her food, tea, clothes, and incense burner."

I don't need you to stay by her side forever, but these are the most dangerous days. Go and protect her for me, okay?

Xia Hong was silent for a moment, then raised her head and said solemnly, "Miss is my mistress. Wherever you send me, I will go. Don't worry, Miss, once I'm by Madam's side, I will do my best. I will personally inspect every single item of food and drink and will never let anyone take advantage of me."

Yun Jin nodded in satisfaction, then took out a few small porcelain bottles and handed them to her, explaining their uses one by one, and giving her a few more careful instructions.

Xia Hong carefully put the porcelain bottle away and earnestly assured her, "Don't worry, Miss, I've remembered this. I'll risk my life to prevent the villains from succeeding."

Yun Jin patted her shoulder and told Chunxi to take Xia Hong to Qingshui Garden to see Chu Wanqing.

Not long after Xia Hong left, Dong Xue lifted the curtain and came in to report that Fu Sheng had arrived.

Yun Jin beckoned him in.

Fusheng had grown taller and was much fatter than when he was a beggar.

But he was still as clever as ever. Upon entering and seeing Yun Jin, he immediately knelt down and kowtowed, saying, "Miss! I'm back! I learned so much from Master Flying Eagle, and I think of you every day! Miss, look at me, haven't I grown taller?"

Yun Jin smiled and helped him up, looking him over before nodding in satisfaction: "You've certainly grown taller and stronger. You haven't been slacking off with Flying Eagle, have you?"

Fusheng puffed out his chest and reported earnestly, "I haven't been slacking off! Every day before dawn, Master wakes me up to practice horse stance and martial arts. In the afternoon, I also have to learn to read and write, and study tracking techniques. Master says I'm quick-witted and learn fast. I've also learned disguise techniques, although I've only learned the basics, Master says it's enough."

Yun Jin nodded in satisfaction, then said seriously, "Fusheng, I asked you to come back because I have an important task for you."

Fusheng immediately straightened his back and looked intently at Yun Jin: "Miss, just say the word! I can do any job!"

I want you to stay with my younger brother, Yunlang.

Fusheng was taken aback for a moment, then pouted, somewhat puzzled, and said, "Aren't I supposed to be by Miss's side? Does Miss dislike me?"

Yun Jin shook her head: "Fusheng, although I have guards around me, they can only block swords, not arrows. Someone wants to harm him, and their methods are extremely insidious. The skills you learned from Feiying may not be enough to deal with a master, but you are clever and quick-witted. If my brother is really in trouble, I believe you can protect him. I don't trust anyone else, I only trust you."

Upon hearing this, Fusheng immediately patted his chest and assured her, "Don't worry, Miss! I will definitely protect the young master and will never let any bad people harm him."

Yun Jin then stood up and said, "Let's go, I'll personally take you there."

Fusheng followed him to Yunlang's courtyard.

After having breakfast, Yun Lang was sitting at his desk studying.

Since learning that he would be studying at the Imperial Academy after the New Year, he has been working extra hard, getting up before dawn every day to recite.

Hearing footsteps, he looked up and saw Yun Jin leading a strange young man in. He put down the book he was holding, stood up, bowed, and asked in confusion, "Why are you here, sister? And who is this...?"

Yun Jin smiled and introduced him, "Lang Ge'er, this is Fu Sheng. I've brought him here to serve you. From today onwards, he will be your page."

Yun Lang looked Fu Sheng up and down and saw that the boy was half a head shorter than him and not very strong, but his eyes were exceptionally bright and seemed to be able to speak.

Fusheng, unfazed, stepped forward confidently and bowed to Yunlang: "This humble servant, Fusheng, greets Young Master. If you have any orders, please feel free to give them to me, and I will do my utmost!"

Yun Lang was very pleased with his quick wit and said gently, "Alright, Fusheng. From now on, you will follow me."

Yun Jin gave a few more instructions, left some dried fruit for Yun Lang and Fu Sheng, and then got up to leave.

With Xia Hong assigned to Chu Wanqing's side and Fu Sheng to Yun Lang's side, she felt somewhat more at ease.

While it's impossible to be 100% foolproof, it's always good to have an extra layer of precautions.

After leaving Yunlang Courtyard, Yun Jin went to Qingshui Garden, told Chu Wanqing that she was going out to check out the shops, and then left the Yun residence.

After leaving the Yun residence, she went directly to Qiyun Xiaozhu. There were only two women in the courtyard, Liu and Sun. When they saw Yun Jin arrive, they quickly came forward to greet her.

Yun Jin first sent Liu Shi and Sun Shi away, saying that it was nearing the end of the year and she wanted them to go to the street to buy some food and supplies for the New Year.

After the two left, Yun Jin asked Dong Xue to call Ling Feng over, saying that she had something to give him.

Dongxue, unsuspecting, went in response.

When Yun Jin was the only one left in the courtyard, she pushed open the door to the room. This main room had always been reserved for her; although no one lived there, it was kept spotless.

She moved the boxes she had brought from Liu Sanlaizi's backyard in Yizhou out of her spatial dimension and placed them inside the house. She then went to check on the vegetables growing in the greenhouse. The vegetables were growing well, and it seemed that she could openly take the vegetables out of her spatial dimension next winter.

Before long, Ling Feng arrived. Yun Jin led him into the main room, pointed to the several boxes, and said bluntly, "These things are what I brought back from Yizhou. They were hidden in Liu Sanlaizi's backyard. I reckon they are the private collection of the Yizhou prefect."

Ling Feng stepped forward and opened one of the boxes, revealing a box filled with neatly stacked gold ingots. He opened another box, which contained calligraphy, paintings, antiques, jewelry, and jade artifacts. He asked in surprise, "Miss Yun, these things..."

"I stole it," Yun Jin said honestly.

Ling Feng swallowed hard, a look of utter disbelief on his face, and finally managed to squeeze out, "Miss Yun has quite the nerve."

Yun Jin waved her hand dismissively and said, "Have someone move your things away. Tell the prince later to sell anything that can be sold. I only want half of the silver. As for the rest, ask your prince. You can use it as silver for military pay or for relief, whatever you want to do with it."

Ling Feng nodded and then asked, "Would you like me to make a list for you?"

Yun Jin shook her head and said casually, "No need. The prince trusts you, and so do I."

Ling Feng paused for a moment, then his tone became more solemn: "Thank you for your trust, Your Highness. I will certainly live up to your expectations."

Yun Jin glared at him: "Don't shout nonsense!"

Ling Feng touched his nose, replied "Yes," called over a few of his men to move the boxes away, bowed to Yun Jin, and then took his leave.

After arranging everything, Yun Jin thought about it and realized that everything that had happened recently seemed to be in place.

Now we're just waiting for the New Year's Eve banquet, but we don't know what Liu Zhixue is planning.
