The next morning, when Yun Jin woke up, the Jinshu Pavilion was already bustling with activity.

Chunxi was busy with several maids when she saw that Chunxi had gotten up. She quickly brought in hot water to help Chunxi wash up.

After Yun Jin finished wiping her face, Chun happy began to help her with her makeup, but looked at her reflection in the mirror and hesitated to speak.

Yun Jin suppressed a laugh and asked her, "What's wrong? Just say it, why are you hiding it from me?"

Chunxi stuck out her tongue and said, "Miss, today is the Little New Year, and the New Year is just around the corner. Shouldn't we give out some reward money in our courtyard?"

Yun Jin thought for a moment and nodded: "You're right. How about this, each of the head maids in our courtyard will receive five taels of silver, and everyone else will receive two taels of silver. Go and arrange it."

Chunxi's eyes lit up, and she quickly thanked her, "This servant thanks you on behalf of everyone, Miss."

Seeing this, Dongxue quickly took the work from her and let her go.

Chunxi left happily.

Before long, a low cheer came from the courtyard, but it quickly quieted down, obviously for fear of disturbing the master.

Dongxue couldn't help but pout and say, "Miss, you're so generous."

Yun Jin curled her lips. This amount of silver was nothing, but it was worth it to have her subordinates work diligently.

After Yunjin finished dressing and changed her clothes, she took Chunxi and headed towards Qingshui Garden.

Chu Wanqing was talking to Qinghe in the room when she saw her come in. She beckoned her to sit down next to her and said, "Jin'er, the Fifth Prince is coming to propose marriage today, and the Yun family relatives will also be here. There will be a lot of people today, so stay with your mother and don't wander off."

Yun Jin nodded: "Mother, don't worry, I understand."

She paused, then suddenly remembered something. "By the way, Mother, where is Lang-ge'er? Is he going to the Zheng family today?"

Chu Wanqing shook her head: "It's a day off today, and he said he didn't want to join in the fun, so I let him stay in his own courtyard."

Yun Jin nodded. That's fine too.

As they were talking, Yunxiu led Granny Su and Meixiang into Qingshui Garden.

Yunxiu first bowed to Chu Wanqing, and then she and Yunjin exchanged curtsies.

Granny Su stepped forward and bowed to Chu Wanqing, saying, "Madam Yun, today is the Little New Year, and also the day the Fifth Prince proposes his betrothal. This old servant was thinking that, if it's convenient, we should have the eldest young lady stay by your side and learn how to prepare for these matters. After all, she will be marrying into the royal family in the future, and she will inevitably have to handle such things."

Chu Wanqing was silent for a moment, then looked up at Granny Su and nodded with a smile: "Granny is right. It's not appropriate for Xiu'er to be involved today, but since Granny said so, let her help out today. It's just that time was short and the preparations were indeed insufficient. I'll have to trouble Granny to give Xiu'er some guidance."

Granny Su quickly agreed, "Of course."

Upon hearing this, Yunxiu stood aside, a slight smile playing on her lips. She secretly glanced at Yunjin, her eyes brimming with undisguised smugness.

Yun Jin held her teacup, lowered her head to drink, as if she hadn't seen anything.

Just after 9:00 AM, the area in front of the Yun residence became lively.

Yunheting took leave today and started bustling around preparing things after breakfast.

The Yun family relatives arrived one after another, and the maids and servants were busy as bees.

Chu Wanqing, along with Yunxiu and Yunjin, accompanied several wives and ladies of the imperial clan in the flower hall.

Several ladies surrounded Yunxiu, praising her one after another.

"Our Xiu'er looks so beautiful today."

"Indeed, her entire demeanor screams 'I'm destined to be a prince's consort.'"

Yunxiu smiled and agreed, feeling very pleased with herself.

Yun Heting was talking with several clan elders in the front hall when the gatekeeper rushed in to report, "Master...Master! The old lady has returned!"

Yun Heting suddenly stood up, his face showing both surprise and joy: "Mother's back? Where is she?"

The gatekeeper hurriedly said, "The carriage just arrived at the gate, and the old lady is getting off!"

Yunheting quickly put down his teacup and rushed out to greet him.

The elders exchanged bewildered glances and quickly followed them out.

Supported by her maid, Old Madam Yun had just entered the courtyard when she saw Yun Heting coming out to greet her. Her eyes immediately reddened: "Heting! Mother has finally arrived! This journey has been so bumpy, my bones are almost falling apart..."

Yun Heting quickly stepped forward to support her, saying excitedly, "Mother, I thought you wouldn't arrive for several days. You've worked so hard."

As Grandma Yun walked inside, she smiled and said, "Your mother missed you so much that she rushed back. I finally made it back on the eve of the Lunar New Year."

She noticed the Yun family members behind Yun Heting, blinked, greeted them one by one, and then asked curiously, "Why is the manor so lively today?"

Yun Heting proudly announced in a low voice, "Mother, you may not know this, but our Xiu'er has been betrothed by His Majesty to the Fifth Prince as his principal wife. The betrothal ceremony is being held today. The Director and his uncles have brought everyone here to celebrate."

"Oh my, this is wonderful news! Xiu'er is so lucky!" Grandma Yun slapped her thigh and laughed heartily.

She suddenly looked at the crowd and asked in confusion, "Where are your wife and Xiu'er?"

Yun Heting hurriedly explained, "They don't know you've returned yet, they're in the inner courtyard. I just sent someone over to tell them, they should be here soon."

Grandma Yun nodded and went inside.

Chu Wanqing had already received the news and came out with Yunxiu and Yunjin to greet them, just in time to meet Old Madam Yun.

She hurriedly stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Mother is back. You must have had a long journey."

Grandma Yun's gaze lingered on Chu Wanqing for a moment, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.

Just as she was about to speak, a commotion suddenly broke out outside. Yun Heting quickly stepped forward and whispered, "Mother, it must be the Fifth Prince's betrothal procession! Please go inside and rest. I'll tell you the details after I'm done with this."

Grandma Yun opened her mouth, but swallowed the words that were about to come out and nodded instead.

Chu Wanqing quickly asked Qinghe to take the old lady to the courtyard where she used to live and settle her in.

Before long, Yun Heting entered with the steward of the Fifth Prince's residence. Behind them, servants carried boxes of betrothal gifts, which were lined up in the courtyard. The boxes were tied with red silk, making it look very festive.

The steward stepped forward and cupped his hands in greeting to Yun Heting and Chu Wanqing: "Lord Yun, Madam Yun, this is the small betrothal gift list sent by the Fifth Prince. Please take a look."

Yun Heting took it with both hands, opened it, and his eyes lit up.

The betrothal gift list was even more generous than expected, including everything from gold and silver jewelry to fine silks and satins.

Chu Wanqing stood to the side, a polite smile on her face: "Your Highness has gone to so much trouble."

Yun Heting handed the list to the steward to check, while he sat in the hall talking with the steward of the Fifth Prince's residence.

After tallying the betrothal gifts, Yun Heting had someone hand over the items prepared by Yunxiu to the steward to be taken back to the Fifth Prince's residence. After seeing the steward off, he returned and announced with a flourish, "Let the banquet begin!"

The clan members took their seats one after another, while Yunheting accompanied the male guests in the outer courtyard.

Chu Wanqing was in the flower hall with the women. Old Madam Yun had changed her clothes and was sitting in the main seat. She looked at Chu Wanqing and suddenly said, "Wanqing, I heard that you kicked Mr. Liu out of the manor?"
