Yun Jin then changed the subject: "Grandmother, there's something else I'd like to trouble you with."

Madam Zheng smiled and said, "Just tell me what's on your mind. Don't be so polite with your grandmother."

Yun Jin then told her about her plan to send Yun Lang to the Zheng family school.

Madam Zheng readily agreed: "Alright, let Lang-ge come. This is nothing to worry about. I'll talk to Wenxuan and the other boys and ask them to take good care of him."

Yun Jin quickly thanked her.

Listening from the side, Chen Mengyao happily took Yun Jin's hand and said, "Jin-meimei, from now on you can bring Yun Lang over every day, so we can be together during the day. You can go back after Yun Lang gets off school in the evening, okay?"

Before Yun Jin could speak, Old Madam Zheng gave Chen Mengyao a reproachful look: "You silly girl, how can Jin'er come to keep you company every day? Doesn't she have anything else to do?"

Chen Mengyao shrank her neck and then took Yun Jin's hand, saying, "Jin'er, then you should come every two or three days."

Yun Jin smiled and nodded: "Okay, Sister Mengyao, I'll come over and talk to you whenever I have time."

After she returned to the manor, she told Chu Wanqing and Yun Lang about it, and they were both very happy.

The next morning, Chu Wanqing and Yun Jin escorted Yun Lang to the Zheng family.

Chu Wanqing specially prepared gifts for Old Zheng and the others, as well as a tuition fee for Mr. Qiu.

After the carriage arrived at the Zheng family's residence, Chu Wanqing took Yun Jin and Yun Lang to see Old Madam Zheng first.

When Madam Zheng saw them coming, she smiled and said, "It's all arranged. Just have the butler take him there."

Chu Wanqing presented the gift he had prepared, and Old Madam Zheng exchanged a few polite words before sending someone to fetch Zheng Zhong.

Yun Lang bowed respectfully to Madam Zheng: "Thank you, Grandmother Zheng."

Madam Zheng smiled and waved her hand, "Since you're already calling me grandmother, there's no need for such formalities. Just focus on your studies."

Yun Lang nodded, then greeted Chu Wanqing and Yun Jin before turning and leaving with Zheng Zhong.

The matter of Yunlang studying at the Zheng family school was thus settled.

He would get up early every day, take the carriage from his residence to the Zheng family, and then be picked up and brought back in the evening.

The Zheng family's sons also took good care of him, and Huang Weixue, knowing that he was Yun Jin's younger brother, also gave him a lot of guidance in his studies.

Yunlang made friends and met a good teacher, and his life suddenly became more colorful. He came home happy every day. Yunjin was also very happy to see this.

Following the Fifth Prince's instructions, Yunxiu left the house shortly after Chu Wanqing and Yun Jin.

She and Granny Qi strolled through several shops on the street, bought a few things, and headed back. As the carriage passed through a secluded alley, a woman suddenly rushed out of the alley and bumped into them. The coachman quickly stopped the carriage.

Granny Qi asked sternly, "What's going on?"

The coachman hurriedly replied in a trembling voice, "Miss, we've hit someone."

Yunxiu lifted the carriage curtain and said to Granny Qi, "Granny, go and see what's going on."

Granny Qi got out of the carriage and saw a woman. She was wearing tattered clothes, her hair was disheveled, and her face was dirty. There was a bundle in front of her, as if she had come to escape from disaster.

The woman fell to the ground, clutching her leg and crying out in pain.

Granny Qi hurriedly replied, "Miss, it seems you've been injured."

Yunxiu thought for a moment, got out of the carriage, walked up to him, and seeing that it was indeed Anwu, pretended not to recognize him and asked, "How are you? Where do you live? Shall we take you home?"

Anwu shook her head, her eyes red-rimmed: "Replying to this young lady, my daughter is a refugee. Her family all froze to death on the way, leaving her all alone. With no one to rely on, she can only wander the streets."

Yunxiu looked at her and asked with concern, "If you don't mind, would you like to come back to my manor with me and become my maid?"

Granny Qi was startled and quickly stopped her, saying, "Young Miss, this woman's identity is unknown, you mustn't!"

Yunxiu waved her hand, stood up, and said to Granny Qi, "Granny, she's so pitiful, let's take her back. I happen to need a maid."

Granny Qi glanced at the woman, feeling somewhat suspicious, but she didn't say anything and could only nod.

Yunxiu took Anwu to a nearby clinic to have her leg examined, applied medicine, and then took Anwu back to the Yun residence. She named her Meixiang and arranged for her to stay at Xuezhai.

After Yun Jin returned to the manor, Dong Xue quietly told her about it: "Miss, the eldest young lady has brought back a new maid, and there's something wrong with her."

Yun Jin asked in surprise, "What do you mean?"

Dongxue lowered her voice and said, "The young lady said her leg was hit, but when I looked at her, she walked silently and with very light steps, as if she had practiced martial arts. Moreover, she is very alert; she immediately sensed when I looked at her."

Yun Jin thought for a moment and asked, "Have you seen her before?"

Dongxue shook her head: "I've never seen her before. But based on my judgment, she should be a secret guard."

Yun Jin understood.

This person is probably someone the Fifth Prince arranged for Yunxiu. It seems he already believes that Yunxiu is destined to be the Phoenix.

Dongxue tentatively asked, "Should we keep an eye on the young lady?"

Yun Jin thought for a moment and said, "Since she is quite skilled, let's not alert her. Let's see what she's up to first."

Dongxue agreed, then said, "Miss, there's something else that I find rather strange. Today, a Taoist priest appeared in the capital, calling himself Master Yuxu. He would stop young ladies from noble families and claim they were destined for greatness. At first, some people believed him, but later the Jingzhao Prefecture intervened and arrested him, saying he was a fraud. This matter has become quite a hot topic."

He calls himself Master Yuxu and claims to have the destiny of a phoenix.

She recalled Chu Wanqing mentioning that Lixiang had let something slip, and realized that these fake Taoist priests were probably the Fifth Prince's doing to cover up the matter.

This was a brilliant move; with just this one action, the fact that Yunxiu was destined to be a phoenix was completely concealed.

Unfortunately, he didn't realize that today's cause would surely be tomorrow's effect.

She hesitated for a moment, then asked Dongxue, "Can you contact your prince?"

Dongxue nodded: "Yes. Before he left, the Prince specifically instructed me that if Miss needs anything, she can contact him at any time. If she needs any help, Miss can also mobilize the people he left in the capital."

Yun Jin thought for a moment, then spread out a piece of paper and picked up a pen to write a letter.

He wrote down the story of Chu Wanqing and Yunxiu meeting Master Yuxu, and also wrote about the appearance of fake Taoist priests in the capital.

She asked Xiao Jingyan if he had arranged for that Taoist Master Yuxu to be there, and if not, whose person was he, and what his purpose was.

As I finished writing, I thought for a moment and added a few more words of concern for him, asking if it was cold in the north, how he was doing, and telling him to take good care of himself, and so on.

After finishing writing, she folded the letter and handed it to Dongxue: "Please pass this on to the Prince for me."

Dongxue took the letter, went outside, and then added her own letter, putting both letters into a bamboo tube. She then took out her bamboo flute and blew a whistle.

Before long, an eagle swooped down from the sky and landed on her shoulder.

Dongxue tied a bamboo tube to the eagle's leg, fed it a few pieces of dried meat, and then the eagle flew north.
