In the flower hall, Chu Wanqing was talking with the ladies when a servant rushed over and said that Prince Yu wanted to see Yun Jin. Her expression immediately changed.

"Prince Yu?" She frowned. "What does he want to see Jin'er for?"

Yun Jin sat calmly to the side and said softly, "Mother, it's nothing. Since we're here, there's no way to avoid it. I'll go and see her."

Chu Wanqing took her hand: "I'll go with you."

Lan Ying also stood up: "I'll go too. Prince Yu shouldn't make things difficult for an old woman like me."

Chu Wanqing shook her head and said softly, "Mother, it's not appropriate for you to go."

Hearing this from the side, Madam Wang stood up and said, "I'll go with Jin'er. I'm her godmother, so it's perfectly proper for me to accompany her to meet the guests."

Chu Wanqing thought for a moment and nodded: "Then I'll have to trouble you, sister-in-law."

Yunxiu suddenly appeared from the side, smiling, "Second sister, let me go with you. The princes are all here; it might not be appropriate for you to go alone."

She claimed to be thinking of Yun Jin's best interests, but Yun Jin knew that her true purpose was probably the princes.

She said calmly, "Sister, go if you want to."

Princess Yamin also got up and walked out: "I'm going to see my cousins!"

Chen Mengyao wanted to go too, but was stopped by Old Madam Zheng.

Old Madam Zheng shook her head slightly and said in a low voice, "What are you going to do? You sit still."

Chen Mengyao bit her lip, ultimately not daring to go with them.

The group of people walked towards the front hall.

Ya Min walked at the front, with Wang Shi and Chu Wanqing walking side by side, and Yun Jin and Yun Xiu following behind on either side.

Upon entering the reception room, Ya Min walked first towards Prince Yu, her face beaming with a smile and her voice soft and sweet: "Cousin Yan, you've arrived!"

Xiao Jingyan glanced at her and said indifferently, "You're here too."

Ya Min's smile froze for a moment, but quickly returned to normal. She greeted the princes again and then found a chair to sit down.

Upon seeing Chu Wanqing and the others enter, Yun Heting hurriedly said, "Madam, Jin'er, come and greet the princes."

Chu Wanqing and Madam Wang stepped forward with Yun Jin and greeted them one by one.

The Third Prince gave a faint "hmm," his gaze lingering on Yun Jin's face for a moment before shifting away.

The fourth prince nodded with a smile, while the fifth prince waved his hand and said in a gentle tone, "No need for formalities."

Xiao Jingyan sat in the main seat, his gaze falling on Yun Jin. He looked her up and down, then suddenly asked, "Madam Yun, is this your newly adopted daughter?"

Chu Wanqing's heart tightened, but her face remained calm: "Yes, Your Highness."

Xiao Jingyan nodded, his gaze lingering on Yun Jin's face for a moment, and said calmly, "I didn't expect you to look somewhat like Old Madam Chu."

He glanced at Yun Xiu and added, "She looks more like Madam Yun than Miss Yun."

There was a moment of silence in the hall after these words were spoken.

Yunxiu almost lost her smile, lowered her head, and bit her lip, not daring to say anything.

Yun Jin glanced at Xiao Jingyan, slightly surprised to find that his favorability rating was 48%.

Could he have taken a liking to me?

Thinking of Prince Yu's reputation, Yun Jin felt a pang of anxiety; she had no desire to become the king's woman.

As she was thinking, Xiao Jingyan waved his hand, and Jin Hu immediately stepped forward, holding an exquisite brocade box in both hands, and handed it to Yun Jin: "This is a gift from our prince to Miss Yun as a token of our recognition of her kinship."

Yun Jin glanced at Chu Wanqing, who nodded slightly. Chu Wanqing then accepted the brocade box with both hands, curtsied, and said, "Thank you, Your Highness."

Ya Min sat to the side, biting her lip, and couldn't help but ask, "Cousin Yan, what gift did you give me? Can I see it?"

Xiao Jingyan picked up his teacup, took a sip, and said indifferently, "It's just an ordinary brand, nothing special."

Yamin wanted to ask more, but seeing his indifferent expression, as if he didn't want to say anything more, she had no choice but to swallow her words.

Yun Jin held the brocade box, determined not to say anything more.

The reception room fell silent for a moment. The princes' gazes fell on Yun Jin, then quickly shifted away.

The Third Prince looked indifferent; the Fourth Prince watched with a smile, as if watching a good show; the Fifth Prince remained gentle, but his gaze swept between Yun Jin and Prince Yu, as if deep in thought.

Chu Wanqing did not wish to linger. She bowed to the princes, her tone neither humble nor arrogant, "Your Highnesses, there are ladies waiting behind us, so I shall take my leave now."

The Third Prince nodded slightly, the Fourth Prince waved with a smile, and the Fifth Prince stood up and bowed slightly.

Xiao Jingyan held his teacup, not even lifting his eyelids, as if he hadn't heard anything.

Chu Wanqing didn't mind and turned to leave with Wang Shi and Yun Jin.

Yunxiu followed behind, slowing her pace and glancing repeatedly at the Fifth Prince.

The Fifth Prince was drinking tea with his head down, seemingly oblivious to everything.

Yunxiu bit her lip, but didn't dare to linger, and quickly followed.

Ya Min, however, showed no sign of leaving. She sat down next to Prince Yu and said with a smile, "Cousin Yan, I'll keep you company."

Xiao Jingyan put down his teacup, glanced at her, and said in a calm tone, "It's not appropriate for a woman like you to be here. Go to the back."

Ya Min's smile froze for a moment. She wanted to retort, but when she met his cold eyes, she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

She stood up and walked out, turning back every few steps.

Back in the flower hall, the banquet had already been set out.

Chu Wanqing sat down at the main table with Yun Jin. Yun Xiu sat next to them, wearing a polite smile, as if nothing had happened.

Ya Min came in through the door, looking rather unwell. She sat down and ignored everyone.

Chen Mengyao moved closer to Yun Jin and whispered, "Jin-meimei, are you alright? Did His Highness Prince Yu give you any trouble?"

Yun Jin shook her head: "No, it was just a greeting."

Chen Mengyao breathed a sigh of relief, then lowered her voice and said, "That Prince Yu is not a good person, you must stay away from him."

Yun Jin couldn't help but laugh: "I have absolutely no connection with Prince Yu, so even if I wanted to get close, I couldn't."

Chen Mengyao thought about it and agreed, so she didn't say anything more.

As the banquet began, maids filed in, carrying various dishes.

Chu Wanqing greeted the guests, and Yunxiu also toasted the ladies with great courtesy, behaving in a graceful and poised manner.

Halfway through the meal, Ya Min suddenly put down her chopsticks and beckoned to Yun Jin: "Miss Yun, come sit over here, let's have a chat, sisters."

Yun Jin glanced at her, whispered a few words to Chu Wanqing, and Chu Wanqing nodded. Only then did she get up and walk over to sit down next to Ya Min.

Ya Min took her hand and said affectionately, "Miss Yun, today is your special day. I haven't had a proper chat with you yet." As she spoke, she raised her wine glass, "Come, let me toast you."

Yun Jin picked up her cup and took a sip.

Ya Min tapped the table, and the maid behind her stepped forward to pour wine for the two of them.

That's when things changed.

After the maid finished pouring wine for Yun Jin, she turned around and accidentally knocked the cup out of Yun Jin's hand, spilling the wine all over Ya Min.
