"Fu Xing?"

Wenren Lei recognized the person in front of her at a glance; he was Fu Yan's younger brother.

Before Fu Xing could speak, Fu Yan suddenly roared, his fierce aura startling Fu Xing so much that she crouched on the ground and screamed.

Wenren Lei quickly comforted Fu Yan, "It's alright, it's alright, Brother Yan, don't you recognize him? He's your younger brother, Fu Xing. Aren't you the one who loves him the most?"

It would have been better if he hadn't mentioned it, because as soon as Wenren Lei mentioned Fu Xing, Fu Yan went completely berserk and almost threw Wenren Lei off his back.

Fu Xing was stunned when he heard Wenren Lei call the monster mummy "Brother Yan".

After Wenren Lei finally managed to calm Fu Yan down again, Fu Xing asked tremblingly, "You mean he's Fu Yan?"

Wenren Lei said softly, "Yes, he has become a zombie, but you don't need to be afraid. He still has human reason..."

Before Wenren could finish speaking, Fu Yan ignored the obstruction and rushed straight towards Fu Xing.

Seeing this, Fu Xing started running wildly. Wenren Lei felt nauseous from the jolting and shed two tears. She shouted with all her might, "Fu Yan! You stop right there!"

Fu Yan froze on the spot. Wenren Lei clung tightly to his neck to avoid being thrown off. He was panting heavily, saying, "Put me down before chasing him. You're driving me crazy."

Fu Xing had initially thought Wenren Lei was going to stop Fu Yan, but he was shocked and furious when Wenren Lei said something like that: "??? Wenren Lei! Are you just going to watch this monster bite me? Are you even human?"

Wenren Lei was placed in a corner of the warehouse by Fu Yan, who waved his hand at Fu Xing: "Damn it, he's not a monster! I told you, Fu Yan has a mind of his own. The fact that he's been chasing you means you deserve to die. You should think about how you offended him. Besides, you don't seem sad at all about your brother turning into a zombie."

Fu Xing turned and ran outside, shouting, "You'll get your comeuppance!"

"Roar—!" Fu Yan roared and chased after them at an extremely fast speed.

Wenren Lei sat on the ground, leaning against the wall and closing her eyes to rest.

Even in his delirium, he sensed something was wrong. Fu Yan had always doted on Fu Xing, yet now he wanted to kill him. Perhaps it was this kid who had turned Fu Yan into a zombie.

Something must have happened during the ten-odd minutes that I was separated from Fu Yan at the restaurant that day.

But there is no way to verify it now.

Wenren Lei can only hope that Fu Xing's tearing is done in a way that is aesthetically pleasing.

After waiting for about twenty minutes, Fu Yan hurriedly returned.

Wenren Lei raised her eyelids slightly and saw a dark, bloody hole on Fu Yan's shoulder.

He sat up in shock, turned on his phone's flashlight, and saw a bullet lodged in his wound.

Less than a week after the apocalypse began, those equipped with firearms were mainly official rescue teams. Fu Yan may have encountered the military during his pursuit of Fu Xing.

Wenren Lei, supporting herself, found some gauze and scissors nearby, carefully removed Fu Yan's clothes, and asked, "Was Fu Xing rescued by the military?"

Fu Yan lowered his head and groaned, "Ouch..."

Wenrenlei used scissors to cut the bullet out of Fu Yan's shoulder, feeling a wave of fear. The accuracy of a soldier's marksmanship was unquestionable; if Fu Yan hadn't run fast, the bullet would have hit his head.

"Is Fu Xing dead or not?"

Fu Yan lowered his head even further: "Ouch..."

Wenren Lei raised an eyebrow, thinking that Fu Xing was lucky.

The bullet landed on the ground with a clang, and Wenren Lei quickly bandaged Fu Yan's wound: "Brother Yan, don't carry me yet. Get the medicine away as fast as you can, I'm afraid Fu Xing will bring his men to surround you."

"Aww!"

Upon hearing this, Fu Yan immediately circled the warehouse at full speed, his hands glowing with white light, and wherever he went, he collected the shelves and other items into his spatial storage.

Fu Yan emptied the 10,000-square-meter warehouse in less than ten minutes.

He returned to Wenren Lei's side and carefully carried her on his back.

Wenren Lei leaned against Fu Yan's back and opened her eyes: "Well done. Get out of here quickly."

Fu Yan walked out silently.

Wenren Lei softly promised, "As long as Fu Xing lives, we will meet again someday. I will avenge you, don't be sad."

"Aww..."

Upon arriving at the parking spot, Wenren Lei was on the verge of tears: "I can't even lift my hand now, it's going to be burned to a crisp."

Wenren Lei, worried that someone might come to kill Fu Yan, said, "Let's walk back..." because there was no time to wait for him to recover enough to drive.

"Aww!"

Fu Yan then carried Wenren Lei on his back and walked step by step toward home.

Snow began to fall from the sky.

Wenren Lei shivered from the cold. He pulled up the hood of his windbreaker, and his consciousness began to blur.

Perhaps it was because humans, with their high body temperature, smelled especially sweet, that zombies gradually gathered around, drawn by the scent.

Wenren Lei closed her eyes, hearing the constant roars of approaching zombies, followed by the muffled thuds of flesh being torn apart.

The lingering smell of blood made him very uncomfortable. Wenrenlei struggled to open his eyes and looked at Fu Yan's figure with difficulty.

Fu Yan carried him slowly, and the zombies that came towards them all had their skulls pierced by a hand.

Wenren Lei closed his eyes, his eyelids burning and his eyes stinging. He felt like crying. He couldn't imagine how much Fu Yan liked him, that he would protect him even if he turned into a zombie.

He thought back to the old days.

Wenren Yu is very busy, often so busy that she doesn't have time to rest, and she doesn't spend much time at home.

Wenren Lei didn't like living with the nanny, and he was often the only left-behind child in the villa, looking pitiful.

But thankfully, there's Fu Yan. Whether Wenren Lei is sick, sad, happy, or lonely, Fu Yan always appears on time whenever he needs her.

This seems to have become a strange rule.

For example, right now, in this apocalyptic world, zombies are all around us, and so is Fu Yan.

Wenren Lei touched Fu Yan's back; it was as broad as before, only a little stiff.

Snowflakes landed on the back of his hand, chilling him to the bone. He raised his hand to Fu Yan's lips: "Brother Yan, I have a fever and feel awful. Bite me and turn me into a zombie."

He hallucinated that Fu Yan used to say: "Lei Lei, don't be afraid, I'm here."

Wenren Lei withdrew her hand and gently rubbed against Fu Yan's back.

With you here, I'm not afraid.

Wenren Lei was in a daze and didn't know how long she had slept. When she regained some consciousness, she found herself sitting in a sheltered corner.

Fu Yan took out a quilt from his spatial storage and covered himself with it, then took out an umbrella and opened it to shield him.

Wenrenlei sniffed twice, and the surroundings were filled with a strong stench of decay. Only then did he see clearly that ten meters away from him, there were corpses of zombies lying everywhere, which had been piled up into a low protective wall.

It seems there were too many zombies, and Fu Yan couldn't kill them all at the same time, so he found this place to protect him as he killed the zombies.

Wenren Lei opened his mouth, his throat was parched, he was panting heavily, and his vision was blurring: "Brother Yan, give me some water."

Fu Yan immediately took out a bottle of mineral water from his spatial storage, heated it in his palm using his special ability, and brought it to Wenren Lei's lips.

Wenren Lei hugged the bottled water and drank it. The warm water flowed into her mouth and slightly relieved the burning sensation in her throat.
