Bai Yao looked at Wenren Lei with suspicion.

Wenren Lei has always been a lazy bum, spending his days causing trouble and spending money.

But Bai Yao didn't believe him. It was impossible for Wenren Lei to be completely unaware of the Wenren family warehouse.

But right now she has something more important to do than providing supplies.

She returned too late; the army had already withdrawn. She could only turn to Wenren Lei for help. She said, "My condition is not supplies, young master. I need you to help me rescue a few people."

Wenren Lei replied without hesitation, "I won't go."

Bai Yao hadn't expected him to refuse so decisively. After a moment's hesitation, she asked, "You don't want to see President Wenren anymore?"

Wenren Lei closed her eyes and slowly said, "How would I know if you really have news about him?"

Bai Yao said urgently, "I really do have one. I even booked his flight."

Seeing Wenren Lei's "I won't listen, I won't listen" attitude, Bai Yao gritted her teeth and said, "I swear on my life, if I can't produce the ticket purchase record, you can do whatever you want with me."

The two women beside her tried to stop her: "Sister Yao! How could you be so impulsive!"

Wenren Lei opened her eyes: "He risked his life to vouch for you, so he must be a very important person?"

Bai Yao said, "They are my daughter and their two sons."

"Oh." Wenren Lei swung her leg. "Then you'll beg me."

"You!" The two women were getting angry.

Bai Yao understood Wenren Lei; he was the kind of person who, regardless of whether he was at a disadvantage or in an advantageous position, would never suffer a loss.

It was because I threatened him with Wenren Yu's information just now that I angered him.

Bai Yao immediately stopped her two companions and pulled them together to bend over at a ninety-degree angle: "Please, save our child."

Wenren Lei looked down at them for a long while before slowly saying, "Fine." He added viciously, "If I find out you're lying to me about my brother's whereabouts, I'll kill you all, along with your little brats."

Bai Yao shuddered, not because Wenren Lei looked particularly fierce, but because she knew Wenren Lei was capable of such a thing.

But right now, all she can rely on is Wenrenlei; ordinary people can't even get into that kindergarten.

Bai Yao quickly replied, "I definitely won't lie to you."

Wenren Lei leaned back in her chair: "Tell me what happened."

It must be said that all three women are very emotional.

Once she started talking, she didn't care about being afraid of Wenren Lei anymore, and even forgot that she had just been arguing with Wenren Lei. She grabbed him and poured out her grievances, talking for half an hour with tears streaming down her face.

Fu Yan had already returned with the meatballs when they finished their tearful complaints.

Wenren Lei now knows which family's son loves sweet and sour pork, which family's daughter loves wearing purple hair clips, and which family's son receives the "perfect attendance baby" award every month.

After sorting through her lengthy narration, Wenrenlei finally extracted the useful information.

The children are trapped in a kindergarten in the southern suburbs.

A strange wall of zombies completely surrounded the kindergarten, making it impossible for ordinary people to get close.

He needs to rescue a girl named Peach, and two boys, Potato and Feifei.

Wenren Lei scratched his head with the muzzle of his pistol, feeling that the situation was not optimistic.

It's been almost a month since the apocalypse, and the kindergarten probably doesn't have enough supplies. The three children are likely starving.

Fu Yan watched in horror, fearing that Wenrenlei might accidentally shoot himself in the head. He silently stepped forward and carefully took the gun from Wenrenlei's hand.

Wenren Lei, oblivious, continued scratching her head while still holding the gun, and asked, "Have you contacted the teacher before?"

Bai Yao wiped away her tears and said, "I kept contacting the teachers before the signal was cut off. At that time, children were picked up one after another, and we parents who were away on business trips had no choice but to temporarily leave our children at the kindergarten."

Wenren Lei lowered his eyes and pondered. He knew a little about the South Suburb Kindergarten. It was an elite kindergarten, and the reason it was built in the suburbs was to sell the gimmick of being close to nature.

The kindergarten is far from the city center, and it usually takes more than forty minutes to pick up and drop off the children each way.

Many of the children there have parents who work in other places, and they are usually taken care of by nannies and grandparents.

Now that the apocalypse has arrived, grandparents might risk their lives to pick up the children, but the elderly are too old, and probably very few of them will be able to make it to the kindergarten, let alone take the children with them.

A nanny, however, might not be willing to risk picking up the child.

There are probably still quite a few children remaining in kindergarten.

Wenren tearfully asked, "After rescuing the child, I contacted you. Where are you staying?"

Bai Yao said, "It's at my house, Building 3, Unit 202, Xinghua Lake."

"Okay, got it."

After parting ways with the three women, Wenren Lei got into the car and waited for Fu Yan to drive.

Seeing Wenren's tearful expression and his head bowed in thought, Fu Yan asked, "Is there anything suspicious?"

Wenren Lei said, "I just feel something is strange."

Fu Yan leaned down and reached out to fasten his seatbelt: "What's strange?"

Maruko rolled up onto Wenren Lei's lap. He subconsciously stroked the puppy's fur and said, "The military has been stationed here for so long, searching for survivors every day. How could they have missed an entire kindergarten?"

Fu Yan tapped the steering wheel lightly with his index finger and said, "It might not be something we missed."

Wenren Lei looked over and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Fu Yan said, "The resettlement site is quite large. We need to allocate manpower to stockpile supplies, maintain order, and resist zombie invasions, as well as send teams out for search and rescue. Ultimately, manpower is limited, and there will always be areas that cannot be taken care of."

Wenren Lei rested her chin on her hand, admiring Fu Yan's sharply defined profile, and pressed, "So?"

Fu Yan said, "If the person in charge of the South Suburb Kindergarten reports that everyone in the kindergarten has been evacuated, then the military will shift its search and rescue focus to other areas."

Wenren Lei looked bewildered: "The kindergarten isn't properly arranged either, so why are they reporting this?"

Fu Yan started the car: "We'll know once we go and see."

"Okay." Wenren Lei suddenly added, "Honey, you're so handsome."

Fu Yan glanced at him sideways and said with a smile, "Not as handsome as my little darling."

Wenren Lei's ears burned, and she rubbed the meatball like a handkerchief: "What are you saying? You're not serious at all."

Fu Yan readily apologized: "I was wrong."

Maruko slipped away, freeing herself from her fur, and jumped onto Fu Yan's lap, curling up there, refusing to go back no matter how Wenren Lei called her.

Wenrenlei glared at it: "You heartless, stinking dog!"

Upon reaching the outskirts of the kindergarten, Wenren Lei finally understood just how eerie the strange zombie wall Bai Yao had described truly was.

The entire perimeter of the kindergarten was covered by a thick, sticky layer of zombie flesh.

The fleshy wall, a mixture of gray and dark red, seemed to be alive, constantly writhing. Long and short hairs were unevenly distributed on it, and five distorted human faces slowly moved across the fleshy wall.

With each wriggling movement of the flesh wall, a stench and putrid smell filled the air.

It attacks Wenrenlei relentlessly, both visually and olfactorily.

"Ugh—! No wonder... Bai Yao didn't say... ugh—what it was... ugh—a zombie wall... ugh—!"

Wenren Lei leaned against the car and retched violently. Fu Yan took out heated mineral water for him to rinse his mouth.
