Fu Yan followed behind Wenren Lei, carrying two large backpacks on his back, like a hardworking and dutiful dog.

As I stepped out of the pharmacy, snowflakes began to fall from the sky.

"Can it really snow in autumn?" Wenren Lei rubbed her arms. It was so cold; the temperature seemed to be dropping lower and lower.

I don't have time to worry about the weather; I need to get home first.

Wenren Lei, carrying her golf club, casually smashed the heads of the zombies that lunged at her while rambling on, "Come home with me first. I need to find my brother. We have some food stored at home, enough to last for a while, to see if we can wait for rescue. If you want to go back to the Fu family to find Mom, Dad, and your brother, I'll go with you. Your family used to seem to get along quite well."

After walking along the roadside for a while, Wenrenlei couldn't stand the cold any longer, so she requisitioned an abandoned car and sped off with Fu Yanchao to his own villa area.

The route has become a living hell.

A series of car accidents blocked the road, and flames from explosions shot into the sky. Survivors screamed and ran away, while zombies surrounded and tore at people on the ground. Some people, in order to survive, did not hesitate to push their companions into the horde of zombies.

Wenren Lei gripped the steering wheel tightly; the world had completely descended into chaos.

He quickly calculated in his mind that his family owned a chain of supermarkets, and he also knew the locations of several storage centers. In the apocalypse, people's hearts were unpredictable, and supplies would only become scarcer. He had to meet with his brother as soon as possible to discuss ways to protect their family's resources.

Wenren Lei floored the accelerator, smashing through countless zombies as he sped toward the villa district.

The villa area has few residents and relatively few zombies. A small number of police officers are barely maintaining order and doing their best to protect the surviving residents.

Wenrenlei parked her car in front of her house and only got out after confirming it was safe.

A thin layer of snow had already accumulated on the ground. He shivered; it was really cold.

When Wenrenlei reached out to open the door, she paused. The iron door lock showed signs of being pried open, indicating that an outsider might have entered the house.

Wenren Lei turned around and went back to the car to get her golf clubs, then instructed Fu Yan, "Brother Yan, bite anyone you see inside except my brother. You remember him, right? He also has white hair, so don't bite the wrong person."

Fu Yan let out a loud "Aww".

She tiptoed through the front yard, entered her fingerprint, and had just pushed open the front door when a shrill female voice rang out from inside: "Ah—! Someone has broken in!"

Wenren Lei looked completely bewildered. "This is my house! What do you mean I've barged in?!"

He kicked the door open and saw six young people standing in the living room, three men and three women, all holding kitchen knives and baseball bats, all pointing them at Wenrenlei.

Wenrenlei raised an eyebrow; these people seemed somewhat familiar.

Fu Yan, who was behind him, kept the mission of "biting anyone he saw" firmly in mind. With a roar, he pounced on a boy holding a kitchen knife. The boy was pinned to the ground and struggled and screamed desperately while holding the knife.

"Squad leader!!" The others panicked, holding their weapons but not daring to step forward, and the living room instantly descended into chaos.

Wenren Lei finally remembered who they were: her classmates.

He chuckled softly, slowly walked to the sofa, sat down, crossed his legs, and beckoned to Fu Yan: "Don't bite yet."

Fu Yan immediately stood up, grabbed the boy by the back of his collar and threw him to the ground, then obediently retreated to Wenren Lei's side.

The six, still shaken, huddled together in a corner of the living room furthest from Wenren Lei. The three boys, regaining their composure, stood up and raised their weapons again in readiness.

A rather muscular boy shouted, "Zombie! That one with the bandages is a zombie! Kill it!"

Wenren Lei's face turned cold: "Let's see who dares!"

The boy who had just been pinned to the ground by Fu Yan remained relatively calm. Upon recognizing Wenren Lei, he suppressed his fear and spoke first: "Wenren, what are you doing here?"

The speaker was Yi Yang, the class monitor of Wenrenlei.

Wenren Lei is 19 years old and has just started college. His classmates are not familiar with each other yet, but his white hair is too eye-catching. In addition, he has an outstanding appearance and a wealthy family background, so almost all his classmates know him.

Wenren Lei propped his golf club on the ground, grinned, revealing his tiger teeth, and said, "This is my home." Then he looked at Yi Yang and said nothing more.

Yi Yang glanced at the terrifying zombie beside him and swallowed hard. They had broken into someone else's home without permission, and Wenren Lei was demanding an explanation.

Yi Yang said with a forced smile, "I'm sorry, we were originally having dinner at Cheng Nianli's house when suddenly a few zombies broke in and stormed the villa. We fled here in a panic, not expecting it to be your house."

The way Yi Yang had looked at Fu Yan made Wenren Lei very uncomfortable. He stood up to try to block Fu Yan, but Fu Yan's 1.9-meter frame was too tall for the 1.8-meter-tall Wenren Lei to block him.

Fu Yan's bloodshot eyes stared intently at the group, emanating a palpable sense of oppression that made them too afraid to even breathe.

Wenren Lei, unaware of Fu Yan behind her, asked Yi Yang, "Where's my brother?"

"Your brother?"

"Yes, the owner of this house."

"I don't know, there was no one here when we came in."

Wenren Lei's heart sank.

Before leaving home this morning, Wenren Yu clearly stated that she would stay home and rest today and not go out.

Wenren Lei took out her phone and pulled up the villa's surveillance footage. The footage showed that Wenren Yu had received a phone call in the morning and hurriedly left the villa, almost at the same time as her.

Thankfully, they weren't kidnapped.

Wenren Lei slowly put away her phone and said calmly, "I understand. You can leave now."

Yi Yang was stunned on the spot.

Cheng Nianli, who was huddled on the ground, suddenly stood up: "Wenren Lei! There are zombies everywhere outside! What's the difference between you kicking us out and killing us!"

Fu Yan let out a low growl, which startled the others, and Cheng Nianli didn't dare to utter a sound either.

Wenren Lei raised her hand and touched Fu Yan's bandaged head, gently comforting him, "Brother Yan, don't be fierce, calm down."

He was being inconsiderate; he shouldn't have let Fu Yan bite a living person.

He overlooked whether Fu Yan was truly willing to kill, so he temporarily decided not to let Fu Yan bite living people.

Wenren Lei looked at Cheng Nianli: "Hey, classmate. I think you know that the apocalypse is coming and we'll soon face a shortage of supplies. Why should I take in a bunch of you and let you eat and drink for free?"

Cheng Nianli was speechless for a moment, then forced himself to say, "I...we can give you money."

Wenren Lei chuckled softly, "I'm not short of money. Besides, do you think money will still be useful in the future?"

In this apocalyptic world, money does indeed gradually lose its value. Cheng Nianli was annoyed at his own stupidity: "Wenrenlei! It's almost dark. We're neighbors and classmates. You can't be this heartless, can you?"

Wenren Lei pointed her golf club at the crowd and said, "You have one minute to leave, or I'll take action."

"you!"

Yi Yang quickly stopped Cheng Nianli and took out a transparent stone from his pocket: "Wenren, do you think this is enough for our lodging fee tonight?"

Wenren Lei looked at the stone: "What is this?"
