"Distinguished guests from Kyoto?" The shopkeeper sized them up, then glanced at the gold in the bag, and hesitated before speaking:

"It's almost midnight now, and the guests have already gone to bed. It would be too inhumane to kick them out now."

Our Rugui Inn operates on the principle of integrity, aiming to make our guests feel at home. If we offend so many guests over a little money, our business will likely suffer in the future.

"I'll add some more gold." Nangong Wu took out another money bag and threw it in front of him. "This is fifteen ingots of gold, a total of two hundred and fifty taels of gold, which is equivalent to your inn's annual revenue! Our people will only stay one night and leave tomorrow morning."

To avoid harming innocent people, they had to kick out the guests staying there before they could take action against the Snake Spirit Society members.

Zhu Yi said that the innkeeper and the staff in this inn were all members of the Snake Spirit Society.

Zhu Yi walked in from outside, his tone threatening:

"Manager Nan, this is a guest I brought. It's your good fortune that such an important person has taken a liking to your inn. If you don't want to offend your guest, aren't you afraid of offending us as well?"

"This..." The shopkeeper was indeed reassured upon seeing so much gold.

Two hundred taels of gold is equivalent to the inn's net profit for a year.

"Alright then! For Officer Zhu's sake, I'll make an exception this time." The shopkeeper reluctantly agreed. "Please wait a moment, I'll go and explain things to the guests."

"Then hurry up, I'll only give you fifteen minutes." Nangong Wu sat down on a chair next to her, crossed her legs on the table, and acted arrogantly and rudely.

The shopkeeper summoned all the shop assistants, a total of twenty-eight, and they took sticks and went to knock on the doors of each room. Knocking and complaints filled the air.

In no time, some guests were driven downstairs. Some guests were indignant and wanted to argue with them, but these were members of the Snake Spirit Society, so how could they waste words with them? They picked up sticks and were about to beat them.

"How rude! It turns out that the hospitality of the people at Rugui Inn isn't as good as the innkeeper made it out to be!" Nangong Wu said sarcastically.

In less than fifteen minutes, they had driven away the dozen or so guests staying at the inn.

After all the guests had left, Bei Chenyan entered with a few guards.

"Bang!"

The inn's door was closed.

The shopkeeper sensed something was wrong. "You are...?"

"They're here to take your lives!"

Nangong Wu and Beichen Yan drew their guns and fired at the twenty-odd people.

"Pfft pfft pfft..." The sound of bullets piercing flesh and blood splattering.

In less than half a minute, all four pistols and sixty bullets were fired before the shooting stopped.

Before they could even scream, they all fell to the ground, each shot in the forehead.

Several guards stepped forward and checked each one in turn.

"Your Highness! Not a single survivor."

Zhu Yi was stunned.

At the "Money Rolling In" gambling den, I thought they were using some kind of secret weapon, but now it seems that the weapon is far from simple.

He stepped forward and bowed slightly to Nangong Wu, "May I ask if you are the renowned Princess Runing?"

In this world, the only person who could possess such a miraculous weapon is the legendary Princess Nangong Wu of Runing.

"Hmm." Nangong Wu gave a soft hum and raised her hand slightly. "Search their valuables."

Several guards immediately began ransacking the place.

Zhu Yi was overjoyed and knelt down before her, saying, "This humble servant greets Your Highness, the Princess!"

He actually managed to join forces with Princess Runing, whom emperors of various countries feared, to suppress the Serpent Spirit Society. He could brag about that for a lifetime.

Nangong Wu looked at him and said, "You're very lucky."

Given her usual behavior, she would have taken care of this kind of person with a single shot long ago.

"Thank you, Your Highness, for sparing my life!" Zhu Yi kowtowed. "Although I serve as an errand boy for Lu Rui, I have never killed an innocent person! I swear that I will change my ways and never do anything immoral again."

Nangong Wu didn't say anything and walked behind the counter.

"Hey kid, why aren't you helping me?" Ding Xiulun kicked him.

"Yes..." Zhu Yi seemed to have thought of something and suddenly stood up, "Their family is still in the backyard of the inn, and the storeroom is still there."

Ding Xiulun glanced at Nangong Wu. "Your Highness, the people in the backyard shouldn't have noticed what happened in front yet."

"A few of you go and wipe them out completely. Bring any cash you have, but don't touch anything else for now," Nangong Wu ordered.

You must never have the slightest bit of compassion for the people of the Serpent Spirit Society.

"Yes."

Several guards drew their pistols and headed towards the backyard.

Zhu Yi went along too.

Nangong Wu raised her hand and collected all the money in the cabinet.

"It seems they'll have to wait a while. Shall we go to the brothel first?" Bei Chenyan said.

"it is good."

The two walked out of the inn.

Nanyang City remained quiet. It seemed that the gambling dens and teahouse incidents had not yet been discovered. Otherwise, given the Snake Spirit Society's modus operandi, they would have certainly created chaos and even used the entire city's inhabitants as hostages.

Nangong Wu looked at the map Zhu Yi had given her again and said to a captain, "Lead the way, we're going to Zuixianglou."

"Yes, Your Highness, please follow me." The captain led the way.

Before they even reached Zuixianglou, Li Xun and several of Adelin's guards caught up with them.

Although Zhu Yi was a constable, his martial arts skills were far inferior to those of the Crown Prince's guards, and he was panting heavily as he ran.

Nangong Wu glanced at him, "Ding Xiulun, you lead the troops and follow behind. We'll go first."

There were a thousand soldiers behind them, but they were afraid that running too fast would make noise and attract the attention of the Serpent Spirit Society, so they could only let them walk slowly behind.

"Your subordinate obeys!" Ding Xiulun bowed and accepted the order.

"Walk!"

Bei Chenyan and Nangong Wu, along with a few guards, left first and flew onto the roof.

Using light-footed skills, it was much faster. Zhu Yi led them through two long streets and appeared in front of Zuixianglou in just two minutes.

Inside the Drunken Fragrance Pavilion, the faint sounds of wind instruments and the lewd laughter of patrons flirting with girls could be heard.

Wei Yang, who had been secretly guarding the place, came out and said, "Your Highness, there is nothing amiss."

"Hmm." Nangong Wu looked at Zuixianglou and thought for a moment. She then asked Zhu Yi to come closer and gave him a few instructions.

Zhu Yi nodded after listening, "I understand."

He straightened his tattered clothes and then walked towards Zuixianglou.

Inside the Drunken Fragrance Pavilion, patrons moved between the various rooms, while the brothel madam, dressed in her finest attire, stood in the hall, her face plastered with a fawning smile, waving a fragrant handkerchief and constantly beckoning to the new customers.

As soon as Zhu Yi entered, he shouted at the top of his lungs, "Surround this place!"

The madam's expression changed, and she swayed her wide waist as she approached, "Master Zhu, what brings you here tonight? We have some new girls here, they're incredibly beautiful..."

"The government is investigating a case," Zhu Yi interrupted her coldly. "We have received solid information that a wanted criminal has escaped to our Nanyang City and is hiding in your Zuixianglou."
