Upon seeing the large pool of blood on the ground, Nangong Wu and Mei Wuchen's expressions changed, and they quickly went to check on it.

Both women had a dagger stuck in their chests, and blood was still flowing out.

"Damn it, these two women must have resisted. Perhaps they couldn't walk on their own, so those people attacked them," Mei Wuchen guessed.

Nangong Wu touched the woman's neck; her body was still warm, but there was no pulse. The other woman was the same; neither of them was breathing.

"They were just killed, no more than fifteen minutes ago."

Mei Wuchen looked around and saw a fork in the road on the left. "This is the second fork in the road. I suppose there's no one left on that side either."

Nangong Wu sent the two female corpses into the space as well. She stood up, and the corpses could also serve as evidence.

"No matter what, we have to go in and take a look."

There might be someone locked up inside.

They hadn't encountered any danger on their way here, which meant that the people inside had left in a hurry and hadn't had time to set up traps or formations.

However, just as they thought this, Mei Wuchen tripped over something, a whooshing sound rang out, and a sharp killing intent rushed towards them.

Mei Wuchen flashed in front of Nangong Wu, his sword flashing so fast it was impenetrable, blocking the rain of arrows.

Nangong Wu didn't stop; she produced a shield and used it to block the arrows as she walked.

This passage was longer; when they reached the end, there were more than a dozen stone chambers, all empty.

The two turned back and continued walking forward until they reached the third fork in the road, where they stopped again.

Mei Wuchen took out the map and looked at it. "This fork in the road has an exit. Which one should we take?"

Nangong Wu pondered as she looked at the map. There were two paths leading out of the cave. The one on the left led to the lake, and the one on the right led to the back mountain. Once they got out, they would meet up with Bei Chenyan.

"We'll take this right-hand path and meet up with them first. If those people don't take this path, we'll come back and block them."

Upon hearing this, Mei Wuchen also felt that it made sense.

The two continued walking forward.

There were three more forks in the road ahead, each containing dozens of man-made stone chambers. They checked them all, but found no one there.

Along the way, they encountered several traps, all of which were broken through.

More than half an hour later, they emerged from the cave.

Two figures flew down in front of them.

It was Bei Chenyan and Ji Hongfei.

As soon as Bei Chenyan saw them, he asked, "Nangong Wu, how are you?"

"I'm fine." Nangong Wu glanced behind them. "Did you wait for the person?"

"I didn't see any, not a single one came out." Ji Hongfei shook his head at them.

"Nothing?" Nangong Wu pondered. From the time they started bombing Changyang Temple to the time they found this place, only a quarter of an hour had passed.

The people inside the cave, who were also taking away hundreds of women, couldn't possibly have left so quickly, unless they hadn't taken this route.

"Judging from the time the two women were killed, they left a quarter of an hour before we arrived, and it took us nearly half an hour to get from the cave to that place."

Therefore, it can be concluded that Xiao Lin and Ji Hongfei were already guarding this place when those people killed the two women, and they did not leave through this exit. "Nangong Wu deduced.

"Then they must have taken the left fork in the road. They want to leave from the lake. Let's go back." Mei Wuchen turned around and ran back into the cave.

The three people behind them followed closely.

They found the fork in the road as quickly as possible and went in.

"Be careful, everyone," Nangong Wu reminded them, lighting the way with a lamp.

Her lamp was a powerful light, illuminating the cave as brightly as day. Combined with their excellent eyesight, no trap or mechanism could escape their notice.

After walking about half a mile, they saw a handkerchief lying on the ground.

Ji Hongfei went forward to check first, "It smells like cosmetics, this is a woman's handkerchief."

"It seems those women deliberately fell down; they must have known someone was coming to rescue them," Bei Chenyan said.

Mei Wuchen also said, "So, those people ran away from here."

The four quickened their pace.

"Watch out for the stones on the ground." Nangong Wu told them to stop.

She pointed to the stones on the ground arranged in the shape of the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams. The stones were not large and the arrangement was subtle, but she could tell what they were.

The four carefully avoided the stones.

"This is a woman's silver hairpin." Mei Wuchen suddenly picked up a silver hairpin from the ground.

"Quick, after them!"

After walking for a short while, they encountered another silk thread stretched across the middle.

Bei Chenyan went to check, and sure enough, one end of the thread was a mechanism. If they broke the thread, it would trigger the mechanism, and a volley of arrows might be fired at them.

This cave is about three miles long. They encountered danger twice, but both times they were discovered.

They had just turned a sharp bend when a gust of wind swept in.

Nangong Wu raised her hand, "We're almost at the exit!"

The three men immediately gripped their weapons and slowed their pace.

"It seems we were a step too late."

Nangong Wu turned the lights down to the lowest setting and carefully walked forward.

The wind was getting stronger and stronger, which was obviously because the cave entrance was facing the lake.

They could vaguely see a light; it was the entrance to a cave. They had reached the end of the tunnel.

"Damn it, they still got away!" Ji Hongfei ran to the cave entrance first to check.

He glanced at them, then turned back and said, "They escaped by boat; they just left."

The three people behind quickly walked to the cave entrance.

The cave entrance, which had originally been blocked, had just been dug open, and the ground was littered with rubble.

The group peered out and saw that below was the lake, with the cave entrance only about five feet above the water.

The Changyang Temple, which they bombed, is still ablaze with flames.

In the firelight, three large wooden rafts could be seen on the lake, already in the center, filled with women dressed in brightly colored clothes.

"It's those women!" Ji Hongfei pointed into the lake.

"What should we do?" Bei Chenyan asked Nangong Wu.

"Use a speedboat." Nangong Wu conjured a speedboat with her mind, which was larger than the one they had brought out last time, but it had no cabin.

"Splash!" The speedboat landed on the water, making quite a commotion.

"Get off quickly." Nangong Wu jumped down first and landed on the speedboat.

The people on the three rafts in the lake spotted them, and a commotion broke out among them.

"Help!" a woman's voice cried out.

"Damn it, do you want to die?" Several women were dragged out by the people from Changyang Temple and thrown directly into the lake.

"Prepare to rescue them." Nangong Wu started the speedboat and headed towards the rafts.

"boom--"

Seeing that they were catching up, the people on the raft did something insane: they all jumped into the water and capsized the three rafts, causing the women to fall into the water.
