"Everyone in the world knows that the Flying Feather Guards are all highly skilled in martial arts and can appear and disappear like ghosts. Only the Flying Feather Guards could move so many things from my mansion in such a short time," Zhou Shaorong said with certainty.

Nangong Wu's face turned cold. "Li Shuang, this bastard slandered this princess without any evidence. Go and kill him!"

With her fiery temper, I just couldn't stand it.

"Yes!" Li Shuang drew her sword and was about to stab him.

"Princess, please calm down!" The Prefect of the Capital quickly stepped between the two and first persuaded Nangong Wu, "Before the case is solved, everyone in the manor is a suspect, and it is understandable for the young master to raise questions."

Then he said to Zhou Shaorong, "Young Master Zhou, before the case is solved, it is best not to speculate without evidence."

Although Nangong Wu is an orphan, she is still a member of the royal family and has the Flying Feather Guard, so she is not someone he can afford to offend.

Madam Zhou pulled her son behind her, saying, "Rong'er was just saying it casually, why are you shouting for violence?"

"Alright! I know you're all in a bad mood after what happened, so say less and cooperate with the investigation."

Fearing another death, the Prefect of the Capital displayed his official authority: "Anyone who causes trouble again will be punished for obstructing official business."

Zhou Shaorong was embarrassed and very unhappy, but he didn't dare to say anything more.

He was quite certain that the things that went missing from the manor must have been stolen by Nangong Wu.

"Men, search this courtyard for me, don't miss a single spot."

"Yes!" A group of guards from the Duke of Wei's mansion stepped forward and searched the Hongyun Courtyard.

Shortly after, the government's coroners returned and reported back after examining the bodies:

"Sir, there were fifty people in total. Two were beheaded; two were shot in the throat with darts; and the rest were killed with a single sword strike, all fatally wounded between the eyebrows with great precision. They had nothing on their bodies and no marks whatsoever. We cannot determine who they are yet."

"The fatal wounds were all right between the eyebrows, extremely precise?" The Prefect of the Capital walked up to the corpses.

As expected of the Flying Feather Guards, even their methods of killing are peculiar.

At this moment, another yamen runner came to report, "Sir, the entire Hongyun Courtyard has been searched, but nothing suspicious has been found."

The Prefect of the Capital looked at the dilapidated courtyard. There were two main rooms, and the doors were so broken that they let in the wind. It was not even as good as the servants' living quarters. There was hardly anything there. It was obvious at a glance.

"Take all the bodies back to the government office first."

"Yes!" The constables all got to work together to move the body away.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Shaorong panicked. "Sir, it's obvious. The warehouse must belong to her..." He was afraid that Li Shuang would take action, so he dared not finish his sentence.

The Prefect of the Capital's face turned cold, and he turned to ask him, "Then may I ask Prince Zhou, what is your explanation for these assassins breaking into the Princess's courtyard?"

He knew perfectly well that these assassins were clearly sent by the Zhou family. The father and son had come and seen so many people die, yet they hadn't uttered a single word of concern for Nangong Wu. What else couldn't he see through?

The items that went missing from the warehouse were most likely made by Nangong Wu.

They were secretly fighting amongst themselves, but since they couldn't find any fault with each other, he wouldn't get involved.

The Flying Feather Guards were once the emperor's secret guards; they were not people he could afford to offend.

"How would I know where these people came from? Perhaps they are enemies of the Princess Protector seeking revenge," Zhou Shaorong argued.

"Rong'er, don't talk nonsense," Zhou Zheng stopped his son.

He knew that the Prefect of the Capital was extremely shrewd and might accidentally reveal a flaw.

"Since there's nothing suspicious about this Red Cloud Courtyard, let's go check out Miss Liu's courtyard!" said the Prefect of the Capital to Zhou Zheng.

"Please, sir." Zhou Zheng led the Prefect of the Capital away.

The forty corpses were also taken away by the government officials.

"That Zhou guy is simply going too far." Li Shuang was furious because she didn't know that the things the Zhou family had lost were all in Nangong Wu's space.

"Go back to your room and sleep! Don't worry about them." Nangong Wu turned and went back into her room.

"Princess, there is bloodstains inside and outside the house. I will go and fetch some water to wash it off," Li Shuang said.

The Zhou family will not move the princess to a different courtyard; she can only wash up and move in again.

"No need, we'll leave here at dawn." Nangong Wu walked into the room and closed the door.

"Leaving at dawn?" Li Shuang wondered. Was the princess really going to leave the Duke of Wei's mansion?

She stood there for a while, then leaped over the courtyard wall and left.

Nangong Wu entered the space and looked at the things that were almost piled up like a mountain, which made her feel a little better.

She didn't bother with what was there, first checked on the children, fed them again, and then went to sleep on her huge Simmons bed.

Because this little bit of stuff is just the tip of the iceberg compared to the supplies she brought, it's nothing special.

The next day, just as dawn broke, the children woke up hungry again.

Nangong Wu had no choice but to get up and change their diapers and feed them.

Half an hour later, Nangong Wu came out and opened the door.

Li Shuang stood outside the door and said when she saw her come out, "Princess, I've gone outside to buy some food and put it in a pot to heat up."

"Then bring it up!" Nangong Wu knew there was a small kitchen in the courtyard.

She went back inside and sat down.

The bloodstains on the floor had dried, but the room still reeked of blood.

Li Shuang came in carrying a food box containing a basket of steamed dumplings, a large bowl of chicken soup, and a large bowl of crucian carp soup.

"There's so much food, I can't finish it all by myself. Why don't you sit down and eat with me? We'll leave after we finish eating." Nangong Wu picked up her chopsticks.

"Yes!" Li Shuang sat down.

The two finished their breakfast quietly.

"Princess, where are we going?" Li Shuang asked while clearing away the dishes.

"Put the things there! Let's go back to the palace now," Nangong Wu said calmly.

The Zhenyuan Prince's Mansion was the original owner's home. Marrying Zhou Shaorong was a step down for her. Since she could no longer stay here, she should go home.

Although she's gone, the Zhou family still owes her everything.

Li Shuang paused for a moment, but didn't ask any more questions. She put down what she was holding, and the two of them walked out of the dilapidated courtyard where the original owner had lived for nine months.

When the people in the manor saw them come out, they were all frightened and hid away, while some ran to tell their masters.

As soon as I reached the front yard, someone chased after me.

"Nangong Wu, where are you going?" Madam Zhou arrived, and two guards stopped her.

Nangong Wu stopped and gave Li Shuang a wink.

She's too lazy to even talk to this person anymore!

Li Shuang understood, and suddenly strode up to Madam Zhou and slapped her hard across the face.

*Smack!*

Caught off guard, Madam Zhou turned her head to the side, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

"Nangong Wu, I am your mother-in-law, how dare you hit me..."

Li Shuang's eyes flashed fiercely, as if she were about to strike again, but Madam Zhou was so frightened that she took back her words.

"Li Shuang, anyone who dares to call me by my name again, have their tongue pulled out." After saying this, Nangong Wu turned and walked towards the gate of the mansion.

"Ming, take stock of my dowry. I will collect it before sunset."

After she has taken all the Zhou family's money, she will send them to hell.
